[Action - Good Spirits, early evening]

[Every society, no matter where you go, has a way to get drunk.

Ginia muses on the thought with a faint smile as she sits in Good Spirits, sipping at a milkshake with a few shots of Baileys in it. It's been a strange, long day that's ended with being shot and bleeding out on a run and beginning anew in a strange village with wings. Worse was a lingering feeling she knew the village, somehow, in some strange way. It was impossible, she was sure she would have remembered being here. But the feeling was enough to get her back on her feet, into a clothing store for a fresh set of clothes, to the item store to pick up some supplies, and to Good Spirits.

She sits at a table toward the side, alternating between watching people as they come in and reading the guide provided in the journal. It's an interesting thing, the guide, and she takes her time memorizing information.

Later in the evening, she ventures out with some questions on the journal.]

It's an interesting thing, the journals. Written messages, audio messages, being able to address everyone as a whole, talk to individuals, send private messages, never runs out of pages, and looks like any regular sort of book. Tidy bit of technology, or magic I suppose. I like the guide too, very well-written and informative, my thanks to the author.

Anything else a New Feather should know about? The little local sorts of things. Legends, stories, suggested dishes to try at the restaurants, the dos and don'ts, those sorts of things. Give me your best. I have time.

[Abel has taken to wandering around, openly curious and interested in everything. He's oblivious to Ginia initially as he looks around.

He does notice Ginia and her people watching, he offers a small wave. Only a touch embarrassed he was being so excited over something like this.]

[Such friendly people around here. When Abel waves at her, Ginia puts on a polite smile and waves back at him. Hello there, stranger!]

[Abel debates for a moment, not wanting to bother her, but finally giving into approach.] Hello, are you new here as well or-? [He waves his hands a little at loss for a word.]

[Ginia gives a polite nod of her head and pulls out a small pocket-size notepad to write on. Wouldn't do to transmit a personal conversation on the journal after all. She writes out a quick and tidy message, turning the notepad for him to see once she finishes.]

I just arrived today. And you, sir?

[He blinks initially, curious as he is unsure of what she's doing until she turns it to face him. Realization dawning on his features.]

I have as well actually- Deity be, they must be bringing in a lot of people in to this place today.

I've been told this happens every two months, people arriving, that is.

[She gestures to the seat in front of her, inviting him to sit down. It's far less awkward than making him stand.]

It is, strange. [He shakes his head at the idea of it all. He does smile easily back at the offer, taking the seat across from her.] Then again, we both have wings, so- it is rather obviously strange by this point.

[Ginia glances over her shoulder at her own wings, dark purple in color. She thinks they should be dark blue, but she's not sure why. Just a strange feeling that's been hovering around her most of the day.

She looks back to her notepad and writes a response.]

Very strange, I must agree. I think I'll be sleeping on my side for awhile.

[Abel's own light blue wings are pressed against his body, a odd image against the cassock he's wearing.]

Sleeping on your side is a good idea- possibly the only one. I'm uncertain of how you could sleep on your back without hurting these. [It doesn't help he's a rather tall, broad man. Tiny wings just make him look silly.]

I'm sure some of the [natives? No, that doesn't seem right. Ginia struggles to find the right word for a few seconds.] longer-term residents have tips. Stomach sleeping, that's also an option. Strange they don't mention sleeping techniques in the guide.

No one really dwells on it outside of their arrival, I suppose? [He rubs at the side of his face with his index finger as he gives a thoughtful sort of smile.]

Oh- [His hand drops when he realizes he's forgotten something. A touch of embarrassment rising back to the surface as he politely ducks his head.] My apologies, I did not introduce myself. I am Abel Ramos.

[The bow of her head is returned as her smile grows a little more. Ah, this certainly saves some time.]

No need to apologize, I bear just as much blame. Nice to meet you, I'm Ginia Solana. Pardon me for asking, but do you know The Judge?

I should have introduced myself sooner, [Watch as he waves the blame away from Ginia.] it is a pleasure to meet you.

[He blinks, but nods.] Yes, I do. He is in my care. You've ran into him I take it?

[She nods.]

I have. An interesting man, we had a very good conversation. He spoke very fondly of you.

[His brows quirk at that, clearly pleased to hear Luce didn't immediately scare her off.] I'm glad to hear that- he usually only talks to me or other priests. [His smile softens at the edges at that.] Really? Goodness, that is nice to hear. I'd think he'd be tired of me by now.

[Realizing he could read minds put a tense edge onto the conversation and threw her off, but so things went. It was Luceti. She had a hunch there would be far stranger things over the next few days.]

I don't think you give yourself enough credit. He seemed very happy to know you. He didn't really smile until he began talking about ~~his~~ your home world and you.

I am merely his Pontiff. [Polite duck of his head, a smile still present though.] I am happy to hear that though, he rarely gets much choice in who he gets to interact with. He certainly didn't get a chance to pick me out of anyone else.

[She looks down at her notepad and considers some of the things Luce had mentioned in their conversation, things that had bothered her. She knows it isn't her place to pry, but it still unsettles her.]

I must ask, and forgive me for being so forward, but is he treated well?

[Abel pauses uncertainly, stiffening a touch.] Well, that is quite forward...

But, no, not particularly. They don't think he is human. So, he is not worthy of human compassion.

[It's horrible, but she keeps it to himself.]

And I suppose he sees that as normal.

He grew up with them. The Church found him in a empty chapel by the sea, so they took him in. [He says simply back with a frown.] So, yes. He does.

[Ginia bristles slightly if only because it's not an unknown situation to her. In her world, countless kids were raised up in gangs or cults or simply abusive homes, their minds altered by their environment.]

I see. Again, I am sorry for being forward and prying. I realize it is not my business or place to question things.

It is fine, perfectly so. You're curious.

I, as a Priest, am generally not allowed to question things too much. There are penalties for it.

He mentioned some of the penalties in the world. But while you may not question things as a Priest, how about as a person?

If it is in the privacy of your own home, you could be safer. [He shrugs faintly.] The Church is not fond of questions in general.
