Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[So where else did you expect to find him, really? Good Spirits it is, and Jiraiya is certainly living up to the name! If you're a pretty lady, he's most certainly offering you a drink -- well, hell, if you're any kind of lady at all, anywhere between the ages of 'legal' and 'crone' he'll probably offer you a drink and flirt with you anyway, cause he's not the kind to be picky. If you're a dude... well, he'll try to pick up conversation about said ladies. Either way, he's feeling social!]

Hey, heyyy there! Come join me for a spot? You know, this place can be pretty fun! I've had drinks here I never imagined could exist!

[So that's a guy sitting out in a nice quiet spot with a pen and paper handy! Time for the author to get his authoring on, and Jiraiya's chuckling to himself as he scribbles away in his atrocious handwriting. Luceti needs better literature! And anyone who's curious is welcome to come peek over his shoulder and read a bit.

[Okay, so it's a nice day out to have a little stroll and he hasn't gone that far when he saw Jiraiya writing on a nearby bench. Smiling because he had always been a fan of his works, Minato approaches him.]

What are you writing this time, sensei? [Another story about the travails of a determined ninja?]

[erosennin]

[The one person he will always interrupt his writing for! Jiraiya sets the page down and looks to Minato with a grin.]

Ah, afternoon! Writing another bestseller this time, a little something to liven up our stay. People need some fun around here!

[derpflash]

[He sits beside the old perverted man with a gentle smile.]

Is it about another heroic ninja? I'd really love to read one of those again.

[erosennin]

Er. Well...

[Jiraiya rubs the back of his head.]

I haven't really given much thought to another of those. I figured I'd switch tracks since that first one did so poorly. My new series has flourished, though!

[derpflash]

You've got to be kidding me. That first one was great!

[He's that book's #1 fan, okay.]

Okay, so what's this one about then?

[erosennin]

Ah, there's a place in the world for greatness, and there's a place in the world for appeal. These... [He taps the pages in front of him] have been selling all over the continent. Romance! Excitement! Danger! ... And more romance!

[He passes a couple pages over to Minato.]

[He seizes the pages and begins to browse. Oh, he's sure this is going to be an incredible read because--]

[--Wait.

"She was screaming his name when he began to repeatedly thrust his hard scepter of love."

Blink. Blink.]

Uh, sensei? [Whatever happened to the great ninja who will win against all odds?]

[The expression on Minato's face tells Jiraiya all he needs to know -- and while there's some part of him, deep inside, that want to be sad about it, that remembers how much Minato loved the first book and almost wants to apologize for downgrading to this...

That's not his way. Never has been. Don't acknowledge the sad things, laugh them off and plunge forward madly!]

Beast of a different color, isn't it? [He laughs uproariously.] It's made me world-famous, let me tell you that! People eat it right up!

[derpflash]

[A sheepish chuckle as he just... stops browsing. He's afraid of what else he might see and read.]

Well, I should have expected as much from you, ero sensei. [Another chuckle.] Though, for the record, you really have a creative way with words. [Something that Minato will always be a fan of no matter what genre his sensei is writing.]

[erosennin]

[Aww, such a loyal student Jiraiya has!]

As well you should have! And it seems I'm not so distinctive, deep down... plenty of ero-fans out there to buy this up! I'm just willing to be the one to write it down.

[And then he grins tightly.]

And you want to know who my number one fan is? I bet you'll never guess...

[Well, probably not a good idea for the fifteen year old to be looking over your shoulder. He's not exactly bright though remind you of anyone? so it'll go completely over his head. Plus the hand writing is terrible so it makes it even harder to read.]

What's he doing in that?

[Jiraiya jumps a bit and turns to look at Sora, grinning.]

A young man with healthy curiosity, I see! Well, young sir, technically I shouldn't be showing you any of this, but...

[He winks and passes Sora a few pages.]

[Sora's just raising an eyebrow to the old man as he passes Sora the pages. Taking them the boy begins looking over them.]

[Well, Sora's looking a bit red in the face. Seriously what is he reading here? He doesn't even know. Besides with love and stuff Sora has always been the awkward turtle. But...going further? His reaction is a mixture of confusion and wondering what this guy does in his spare time.]

W-what the heck kind of story is this?!

A romantic one! All about the search for one's true love! ... And all the other loves along the way!

[For some definitions of love, anyway.]

But, what's he doing here? I don't get it.

[He points to one of the, er, naughtier bits in the story. Sora is confused. Like that's anything new.]

Here? Oh! You see, that is the very moment where he is discovering one of those 'loves along the way.' A beautiful serving girl in an inn... just looking for a little company! And boy, is he giving it to her.

[This is the most appropriate conversation.]

[Ooooookay, so pretty much he was dealing with another Jack Sparrow wasn't he? Giving the papers back to Jiraiya, the boy put his hands behind his head.]

How come you wrote that stuff anyways?

[Sora wants to ask 'is it because you're lonely?' But that'd be a bit rude.]

Because people love to read it!

[He grins to Sora, conspiratorial.]

Books like these carry them away from their own lives and into realms of fantasy. It's what they want, so I give it to them!

[It's a fairly nice day in Luceti; nice enough to get Tattoi outside, at least. He's trudging along the path, resting a parasol on his shoulder and nibbling on some cookies, carrying a bag full of other delicious baked goods. For the most part, he seems happy. When he spots Jiraiya, though, he changes course. He vaguely remembers hearing about this ninja and his writing prowess; something new to read would be wonderful. So, he approaches.]

Afternoon. May I ask what you're writing?

[erosennin]

[Is that... a giant rabbit walking toward him? ((I'm going off your icon, apologies if I get it wrong.)) Jiraiya blinks, but then pushes it off with a grin. After all, he chills with toads of all sizes.]

Ah! I'm working on a new installment of my world-famous book series!

[nitrogenius]

[The not-quite-rabbit-man chuckles for a moment.] I suppose that depends on which world you're referring to. Regardless, what does this series contain? Action, horror, suspense, romance...? [He's sidling closer, trying to get a look at the pages.]

A little of all of them! But mostly action and romance.

[And he's perfectly willing to show off what he's writing. Not big on secrecy of his work, this guy.]
