Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[The one person he will always interrupt his writing for! Jiraiya sets the page down and looks to Minato with a grin.]

Ah, afternoon! Writing another bestseller this time, a little something to liven up our stay. People need some fun around here!

[derpflash]

[He sits beside the old perverted man with a gentle smile.]

Is it about another heroic ninja? I'd really love to read one of those again.

[erosennin]

Er. Well...

[Jiraiya rubs the back of his head.]

I haven't really given much thought to another of those. I figured I'd switch tracks since that first one did so poorly. My new series has flourished, though!

[derpflash]

You've got to be kidding me. That first one was great!

[He's that book's #1 fan, okay.]

Okay, so what's this one about then?

[erosennin]

Ah, there's a place in the world for greatness, and there's a place in the world for appeal. These... [He taps the pages in front of him] have been selling all over the continent. Romance! Excitement! Danger! ... And more romance!

[He passes a couple pages over to Minato.]

[He seizes the pages and begins to browse. Oh, he's sure this is going to be an incredible read because--]

"She was screaming his name when he began to repeatedly thrust his hard scepter of love."

Uh, sensei? [Whatever happened to the great ninja who will win against all odds?]

[The expression on Minato's face tells Jiraiya all he needs to know -- and while there's some part of him, deep inside, that want to be sad about it, that remembers how much Minato loved the first book and almost wants to apologize for downgrading to this...

That's not his way. Never has been. Don't acknowledge the sad things, laugh them off and plunge forward madly!]

Beast of a different color, isn't it? [He laughs uproariously.] It's made me world-famous, let me tell you that! People eat it right up!

[derpflash]

[A sheepish chuckle as he just... stops browsing. He's afraid of what else he might see and read.]

Well, I should have expected as much from you, ero sensei. [Another chuckle.] Though, for the record, you really have a creative way with words. [Something that Minato will always be a fan of no matter what genre his sensei is writing.]

[erosennin]

[Aww, such a loyal student Jiraiya has!]

As well you should have! And it seems I'm not so distinctive, deep down... plenty of ero-fans out there to buy this up! I'm just willing to be the one to write it down.

[And then he grins tightly.]

And you want to know who my number one fan is? I bet you'll never guess...

[derpflash]

[So loyal that he made you the godfather of his little boy despite how irresponsible you are. Not that Minato sees this in you.]

If I'll never be able to guess, don't you think it's unwise to name names?

[Since he doesn't want to brand people of being as perverted as his sensei.]

[erosennin]

[Yeah, er, the less said about that the better, haha.

But Jiraiya just snickers.]

It's your own Kakashi-kun who's devoted himself to my work! Though I suppose he's not such a -kun anymore...

[derpflash]

Kakashi?

[His silent, brooding, but generally kind-hearted and capable student?]

You're not kidding are you, sensei?

[His Kakashi reading porn? Seriously?]

Does this look like the face of a man who kids?

...Don't answer that.

[He grins.] Oh, don't worry, he hasn't turned into some kind of reprobate. I've not infected him that badly. He's quite the ninja yet, just a little more relaxed on the side.

[Aw, but he was about to answer that. 8( Oh well, he's just glad his student didn't turn out to be as perverted as his sensei. Wouldn't that be a sight.]

I have faith in Kakashi. I know he wouldn't let himself turn into you. [Minato chuckles.]

[derpflash]

[Though, his features turn a little wistful.]

But, I'm really curious as to how much he had grown. From Naruto's stories, he seems to be a really good sensei. [Who values bonds. Minato knows just how much Obito's death changed him.]

[erosennin]

A better sensei than he gives himself credit for, at any rate -but that's Kakashi for you. The day he stops being a bloody perfectionist will be the end of the world.

He just hides it better now, that's all.

[He tilts his head back a little.]

Almost wish he'd show up here, just so you can see him.

It'd be strange seeing him a grown man when I was so used to patting his head.

[Yeah, that'd be the day. Though, while he misses Kushina a lot, he also misses his students. But he knows this place isn't the right avenue for all this.]

Though, you know just as well as I do that we shouldn't wish this place on anyone.

Mm, true, we shouldn't, but... heh. What other options are there, really? It could be worse, really.

[Not telling Minato how much worse, though. Let's not even mention that whole him being horribly killed by his own students thing.]

Well, if he's brought here, he is, and if he isn't, he isn't. Not like we have much say in the matter.

[Having no say in the matter saddens Minato that he looks down from where he's seated.]

That's... what's been bothering me, to be honest. [A frown.] I know my being the Hokage matters little in this place, but for my fellow Konoha shinobi...

[He trails off. He also knows he's not the Hokage anymore from what the others told him. But what's the use of becoming a Hokage when he can't even spark hope for anyone of these Konoha citizens trapped in this world?]

[erosennin]

You do what you can. That's what any of us ever do, you know.

[He sets the papers aside and stretches.]

Think of it as a vacation! You don't have any of that postwar mess to deal with. Just a handful of your people, and you can inspire most of 'em just by flashing a smile in the morning!

[derpflash]

[Jiraiya has a point. They can just do what they can, but the helplessness at times can't help but eat Minato away. His comrades are suffering from an unknown, powerful source and as Hokage, he deems he should be doing everything.

Though he also knows his sensei's right.]

I doubt I inspire anyone just by smiling.

[erosennin]

You might be surprised. You're quite the hero, kid. And you've always inspired - or at least scared the shit out of the other guys - when you show up.

[He might not say it much, but damn, is he proud of Minato.]

[derpflash]

[A little smile. He can feel the pride, Jiraiya, and he's happy that he makes you proud, that he makes anyone proud for that matter.]

That's quite the advantage in the battlefield, I have to admit. [Especially in a war.] But I'm happy that I can be a hero to my people, if not for the ones I care about the most. [Being a Dad is already a hero in itself.]

I guess I should smile often, huh?

[erosennin]

[Jiraiya chuckles, grinning himself.]

As often as you can. Besides, smiles ease the way.

[It's his own way, after all - facing everything with flippant smiles and laughter.]
