it's time once again for a...test drive meme!
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Or make your day worse, either way.]Just water? Bottled, or tap?

Which option does not necessitate any form of currency? [twitch]

[ Oh man, Malik's wings are pink and he still finds all that twitching kind of amusing. He still gets that glass of water, in any case. ]
Here you are. I take it you're having trouble adjusting to... this place?
no subject
To say that I am experiencing trouble would be putting it mildly. I must admit that I am having difficulties regarding control of (flap/twitch)... [Spock's breathing has hitched, and he still has not put down the stool...]

I don't think I've ever seen anyone's wings react so violently... you must be pretty tense. [ Malik sets another glass on the bar, nodding at the remains of the glass. ] Don't worry about the mess, though. I'll have someone clean that up.

Please excuse my behaviour, I am experiencing... antipathy (which is difficult for him to say...) from the lack of control over my (flap/twitch) ... anatomical activity. [Spock looks around the bar (flap/twitch) and is mildly surprised that most of the other patrons had barely acknowledged his 'little episode'. He looks back at the bartender and pointedly focuses on his pink wings.]
What do you suggest I do to remedy this situation? (A/N: it was refusing to let me make that last statement big... sorry.)

[ Sounds like this guy needs to relax. ]
You can't control when you blink, right? It's the same thing. Don't think about it too hard. [ Though Malik gives his wings a twitch just to prove he can. He doesn't really mind them all that much. He's chill like that. ] Just takes some getting used to.

Negative, Vulcans are aware and normally in complete control of all bodily functions.... Is it possible to have them removed? My reasoning is also Vulcan in nature. My skin is sensitive in a manner which you would not have previous knowledge of (Spock doesn't mean to sound insulting, he just talks like that...).
I admit that it would be convenient if alcohol had the same 'relaxing' effect that it seems to have on most beings.

As for the wings, I'm afraid they're permanent. Trying to cut 'em off will get you killed, and that's a fact.
[ Malik says this like it's a fact of life, but he's pretty good at adjusting. Makes sense after all-- you wouldn't try cutting off your other limbs, would you? He's just gonna keep being chill and pull out another glass. ]
Sure you don't want something stronger than water?

[Spock puts his head down and sighs in what seems like resignation... (flap/twitch) he's getting desperate. He mumbles....]
Do you have any substance containing... chocolate?

As I implied before, I have no currency in my possession. There is also no guarantee that this will work.
(flap/twitch)
What is your name?
no subject
My name's Malik Caesar. And this, [ he signals the tall glass with his hand, ] is your milkshake.
no subject
My thanks to you Malik Caesar.
[Spock picks up the glass (flap/twitch) and takes a small sip. He seems to consider the taste for a moment, then takes a bigger drink.... Spock makes a humming sound in the back of his throat and downs the milkshake. He puts the glass down on the bar.]
