Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Since coming to Luceti, Jason's been spending a lot of time in the library. It's not homework or anything—you could call it personal research, out of curiosity.]

Feels like I'm studying for an exam. This would be so much easier with a computer...

[He's working pretty hard, but unsurprisingly, he's not having much luck. The books keep piling up, but he'll have to quit sooner or later. Better luck tomorrow, maybe.]

[Homework— I mean, research, is pretty boring, and Jason is itching for something fun to do, so it's not very surprising when he eventually slips on his Robin costume and wanders about Luceti. It doesn't take long for him to confirm that it's not much more exciting than homework, though.]

It's so quiet, I'm just waitin' for something to jump out at me.

[Careful what you wish for kiddo - you just might get it. In this case, "it" would be the Joker, walking out of the item shop with a bag full of cleaning supplies (to make Joker Venom with, probably), whoopie cushions, and who knows what else.]

Well, if it ain't the Boy Blunder himself! [He's a bit shorter than the Robins that he's used to seeing, but who knows? Maybe Batman just got desperate and started recruiting kids out of grade school.] So where's Batsy? Off brooding somewhere?

[Well, jeez, he'd easily recognize that ugly mug in a completely different universe, but it's still a surprise to see him when things had been so quiet so far. Of course, he's stupidly not afraid of the Joker, so the surprise doesn't last for long.

Doing what he does best. [This is the moment where Batman would appear from the shadows and punch him in the face or something. ...but there is no Batman in Luceti.] Gonna try a few experiments of your own?

So he's right behind me, then? [He's just gotten used to that being the case by now, given how often it tends to happen. He quickly turns around, only to wind up looking slightly disappointed when he goes back to facing Jason.] No? Pity.

Oh, we'll see - this place could certainly use some kind of a wake-up call. It's so dreadfully boring, after all. Or maybe I'll just use this time to get some r-and-r! [Yeah, fat chance of that happening.]

[Robin definitely feels disappointed. It wasn't so weird without Batman until someone like him showed up. Of course, this little bird knows it'd take more than fear to do something about the Joker.]

When hell freezes over, maybe. I think you're the one that needs the wake-up call. I'd just like to see you try something here.

Well, I've already got a few things in mind... [The Joker starts rummaging through his bag, before pulling out a photo album labelled "Precious Memories".] I found some of my old snapshots in that store, and it made me wanna take up photography again! [That might sound harmless enough, but the Joker's photo album is an unrelenting gallery of horrors - mutilated corpses, people slowly being driven insane, pictures of the Joker's beach vacation...]

[Even before his last not-so-pleasant encounter with the Joker, Robin could never think of anything he does as innocent. A criminal is a criminal.

...but was he supposed to wait until he tried something when he already knew that he was a terrible person?]

Oh, good - maybe Batsy will believe it! If he's around, that is. [He opens up the photo album and starts thumbing through it, completely disregarding Robin. Honestly, he doesn't really consider any Robin to be much of a threat to him, and the fact that this one's a kid does little to help that impression.] Don't have any pictures of him in here - disappointing, but I guess he's not all that photogenic.

Still, if I get bored with that, I'm sure I'll think of something to pass the time. Getting out of this dome will be child's-play, of course, but I might as well see what this place has to offer before I do that.

Oohoohoo! Kid, do you know about my track record for breaking out of places? ...What am I saying? Of course you do! I mean, really - I don't know how many times people keep saying that they've made it so Arkham is "inescapable", but I still manage to get out! Sure, this place ain't Arkham, but nothing's inescapable.

[Well, his Plan A is pumping the enclosure full of Joker Venom, seeing how air gets into and out of the place, and working from there. All of his other plans are just as bad, probably.]

However, there is a birdarang shooting down in front of Jason's feet. It's got a note attached to it: Be less conspicuous.]

[NOPE. No tracks. Robin's up on a rooftop, watching. Not stalking, just watching. Finding him is part of the first test. It shouldn't be impossible if this kid-in-a-Robin-suit is really one of his replacements.]

[Truthfully, he was kind of expecting to be attacked, but since there's nothing like that, he lets the worry fade and thinks about the birdarang instead. It came from somewhere high, so he looks up.

...well, it's not like he has anything better to do. Since he only just found his costume, he lacks in anything particularly useful, so he'll just have to do this the hard way and climb his way up!]

[His climbing could use some work. He's blowing way too much energy on the early floors. It's sloppy.

He looks young though. Maybe he's still new. Robin will even throw him an easy one and give him a vocal cue. He throws his voice off to the northwest end of the rooftop, even though he's settled in the shadows on the southern end.]

Your technique needs work. You're probably not training hard enough.

Another birdarang nicks Jason's ankles then, intentionally betraying Robin's true location. This too came with a note: "Sloppy. If you were in Gotham, you'd be dead right now."]

[He's too close to the top to change what he's doing now, and though he doesn't bother reading this new message, he grabs the birdarang anyway. At the top of the building, Jason looks around before he glances at the note.

[Again with the "Nightwing" stuff. Robin's fairly sure by now that his adult-self is awesome and badass and loved by all heroes in the future, so he accepts the assumption as an ego-stroke. He reveals himself then, in the semi-standard "I AM THE NIGHT 101" pose.]

Not quite. This goes easier if you did your homework and read the journals.
