Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
Professor Oak | Pokemon Adventures/Special
A few buttons were pressed before the scenery began to change before them. Trees, small houses, and tall grass are now surrounding them, replacing the steel bolted walls of the Battle Dome. Oak can recognize a few buildings that were near him – his lab, Red’s home… he can even see Viridian Forest in the distance. No longer are they within the bounds of Luceti, but in an all too familiar place they would much rather be.
Pallet Town.
Of course it’s not real, but there isn’t much else he could do at this point. After all, words of comfort can only go so far. Hopefully this would ease their pain a little, since a stimulation of their home town is better than nothing at all. Though the professor can’t help but wonder if they will overcome their homesickness. Only time will tell. But until then, he’s going to stand by and watch his Pokemon live a dream.]

This is of course one such scene. He stands at the observation deck, transfixed by the tranquil scenery. It would be rude to walk in on someone else's scenario, so he just stares in admiration, smiling as he notices the creatures frolicking within. Perhaps they're creatures he recognizes, having been getting to know Pokemon over the past few months, especially after his granddaughter from the future wound up with her own Swellow and a Pokedex.
He'll stand there quietly until he's noticed, ready to greet whoever set up the simulation.]

The Professor noticed and quickly turned to the direction Kanga was staring, only to see a young teen standing nearby. Had he been watching them the entire time? Could he be the reason why Kanga is so seemingly upset?]
You there. Have you been watching us?
no subject
Uh... yeah. Sorry! It just looked so peaceful, I couldn't help but watch.

I see. What's your name, young man?

Agatha hasn't decided what to make of this particular building just yet. On the one hand, it's only simulation, on the other, there's a certain lack of normal training and opponents that could be found here. It just wasn't the same, which was frustrating in itself.
And then she spots him. Hardly changed at all from when she last saw him, really - and yet here he was, fiddling with some useless peaceful scene. How utterly typical.
She'll watch for a little while, until she can contain her frustration no longer.]
Oak.

There's no need to end things in violence like before. Instead they will talk civilly about whatever that needed to be discussed. Even though the Professor really doesn't want to speak to her, and with very good reason, he decided to give her a chance. Because when it comes to being a threat, she is nothing compared to the Malnosso and Third Party. Whatever that needed to be talked about or settled with can be done now.
Slowly he turned away from his Pokemon to face his former friend. And then he speaks]
...Agatha.

It was a slap in the face.
But everything this man had ever done to her was a slap in the face. Why should the location be any different than that?]
... Hah. I should have known that you would be drawn to this place.

I see no harm in being here if it would relieve my Pokemon's homesickness.

It's better to give them a false sense of reality than doing nothing at all. [Sadly, he's out of options; this is the only thing he could think of that could cure their homesickness until they can find a way to get back home. You too would do anything in your power to keep your Pokemon happy, wouldn't you? To see them depressed, it really tugs at the heartstrings and Oak just couldn't take it anymore. He sighed]
It's only temporary until they feel comfortable living in Luceti.

...Besides, for me and my Pokémon, home isn't defined by where we grew up or where we have a roof over our heads, or any of that!

[Oak would like to know what Gold's interpretation really is. Who knows? It could very well be something he really needed to hear or be reminded of.]

Whoa, I can see my house from here!
[And then looking more, he sees--]
Huh? Professor Oak?!

Oh ho! Aren't you a sight for sore eyes!

... Other than that, he knows he's seen Professor Oak somewhere before. He's a TV kid, after all. Lax sticks by Diamond as they approach the professor.]
This is a good idea. I heard you could do it, but I'm not really good with technology things... [He doesn't really bother to check out things if they weren't on the front screen. See: Pokétch.]
no subject
He turned to face Diamond, only to see a Pokemon tagging along whom he'd never seen before. Who is it and where is it from? He'll talk to the boy about it later, but for now he's going to play his part in the conversation]
Yes, I can. Is there something you wanted to see?
no subject
Mmhmm! My hometown, Twinleaf Town. [That means nothing to the Professor, of course, so with small gestures Diamond explains.] It's a little town like this, but we don't have a lab in our town and there's a few more houses. It'd be recovering from the long winter, I think, but it's very pretty when we get a little snow there.
[They'll never have the amount Snowpoint City was said to have - thank goodness - but he has some fond memories of the snowstorms and the following fights.]
Em... But you don't have to change it, or anything. Your friends look like they're enjoying themselves.

But he can't put his grandfather at ease, he's fairly powerless to do much of anything. And Green hates it.
He'll enter the simulation, putting his hand on Professor Oak's shoulder.]
Hey.

Green, you startled me...! [He nearly had a heart attack] ...Is there something you need?

No, I came here to see how you're doing. I'm fine.
