Test Flight!
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[He huffs and glares at Simon for a moment, pulling the plate closer to himself when Simon steals a dollop of ice-cream.]
Yeah. Ice-cream. Really nice ice-cream that now has- has germs on it. I don't know where you've been.
no subject
[Simon rolls his eyes and sucks on his finger, looking completely unrepentant at being on the receiving end of Sam's glare.]
Sure, you do. You were there, too. Hell, you've sent me most of the places I've been. Also I've taken like... six hot showers today, I think you're safe.
no subject
[He glares for a moment longer than then takes a bite of his cake which still tastes good even after having Simon's grubby mitts on it.]
...true. And the showers... I think I just stood in ours for about an hour this morning.

Kind of not high on my list of things to experience, y'know? After the zombie apocalypse.
[He raises an eyebrow at that, giving Simon a suspicious look.]
Why are you timing my showers? Not like we're on a limit anymore.
no subject
[The suspicious look gets a shrug and his typical innocent expression.] I was bored? And it was raining. I wasn't going out running in the rain.
no subject
[He just can't let go of that fear so easily. Not when he's seen too many people lost on his watch.]
You've been out on runs in the rain before. Lots of times.
no subject
[Simon can understand the fear, but its a moot point now, isn't it? No infection here, no plague waiting to decimate them in the next moment of inattention. They can live again. Why brood?]
That was back when I had to run in the rain.
no subject
[It's a pervasive enough fear, and even though Simon is acting blase now, their house still has bars over the windows and an unhealthy amount of tinned food in the cupboards.
He doesn't really have a response for that and it makes him pause for a moment. No. He didn't have to run now, did he?]
I guess.
no subject
[It's said with a casual shrug, because Luceti's nothing compared to some of the cities and even the large towns they had to escape from back home.
Not that Simon expects the plague to follow them here. What're the chances of that? Maybe next apocalypse will be flying monkeys. Or disco robots.]
Don't sound so enthusiastic, Sammy. [He rolls his eyes, looking amused.]
no subject
It's about the same size as home, yeah. I hated being in New Canton.
[He still wonders where that line was, when he started considering Abel home rather than just a safe place to hole up for a while.]
It's just taking some getting used to. You go out running and don't need me on the other end of a radio.
no subject
Heh. He never imagined Janine's way of running things would be an improvement.]
You could always come running with me, y'know.
no subject
[Alright, so the metaphor had got away from him slightly. The point was, that many people in one place set him on edge. Weird, when he'd adored visiting London the few times he'd been.
He gives Simon a slightly sceptical look.]
I'm not much of a runner.
no subject
[He ignores that skeptical look with a pointed one of his own, balancing his chair on two legs for a moment.] And how much have you tried? It's a valuable skill, you've got to admit. And there's no time like the present to hone it some more.
no subject
Oh.
[He glances down at the expanding puddle of ice-cream and reaches for the spoon again, taking a bite of cake and ice-cream. No sense wasting it.]
Y'know the really weird thing? If I wanted to, I could probably just ask for another scoop. I could probably just... just not eat it!
[And no-one would care, probably.]
Uh... I went out a couple of times around the base? With- With Five during training and...
[Yeah, let's not think too closely about his close brush with complete insanity.]
no subject
That was around the base. And back when there were still zoms breathing down our necks. It's different here. You can do it for fun. When was the last time you just went and did something for fun, Sam?
no subject
[He couldn't make himself waste anything honestly. Even when there seemed to be plenty of it to go around. It was one of those 'normal' things that he'd forgotten about. The casual waste. It's why all of the tins in the cupboard are sorted by expiry date and why he'd carefully wrapped up the slices of apple he hadn't eaten.
It's sad that he actually has to think about when he last did something for fun. Even reading books was kind of... more to distract himself from thinking too much than real fun.]
We played D&D with Maxine that time. That was pretty fun.
no subject
That was still back at Abel, Sammy. Are you telling me you've done nothing fun since you got here?
no subject
Uh... not being surrounded by the undead every day is pretty fun.
no subject
[Simon slumps back in the chair and rakes his fingers through his hair before pointing determinedly at Sam.]
Finish your ice cream. We have things to do.
no subject
[He snorted softly and took another bite of his cake and ice-cream.]
Like what?
no subject
And once you finish, you'll find out. I'll have to call Jack and Eugene in on this. They've been here longer. They'll know where the local hotspots are. [He pauses, squinting a moment.] It's got to have some of those, right? All these people, nothing to do every night? Well, except for the usual, but that usually comes later.
no subject
[He huffs, giving Simon an amused look.]
I think there's a bar? But come on. It's about the size of Abel. it's not exactly going to have a huge selection and... I really don't want to hear what you get up to at night.
no subject
[Simon just smirks at him for that.]
If you were getting up to something yourself, that wouldn't be an issue, you know.
no subject
[He replies quickly, barely even thinking about it. They didn't have the time and resources to keep people who were going to cause trouble.
He rolls his eyes at that, giving Simon a somewhat sour look.]
Why do you care anyway? It's not a big deal.
