Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[There's a party going on around here, yes there is. Good Spirits is living up to it's name right now. There's a group of people breaking into song in one corner, a band striking up in the other.

And then, there's Mai. Just sitting at the bar, her cheek propped up on one hand and her other arm folded across the bar counter top. The few times the bartender passes, he gives Mai a slight sidelong glance and Mai? She just gives him the same flat look back every time.

A few minutes of this and she gives a long sigh. Why was she here again? Oh that's right, because the other option was sitting at home staring at another wall again. The next time the bartender passes, she asks blandly:]

What kind of drinks do you have.

[Not that she's much of a drinker but hey, maybe they have regular drinks too.]

[Aang had been one of the people going on in song. He usually wasn't out at this hour - especially at a place like Good Spirits - but perhaps he's there for a birthday of one of the friends he's made in this world. Once he's done with the song, he sees Mai, being a wallflower as always. Making friends with Ty Lee had been easy enough, so he's eager to get to know Mai better as well.

So Aang - a bit older and notably taller than he was during the war - makes some nimble strides across the room and sidles into a nearby barstool.]

Hey, Mai. Whatcha doing?

[The 'wallflower' glances out of the corner of her eye at the sound of her name. There's little other recognition beyond that though. He'd been one of the last people she had counted on running into, though frankly she hadn't thought about him at all before this second.]

At the moment? Slowly going deaf.

[Some people are very poor at carrying a tune.]

Are you usually out this late?

[He just gives a slight chuckle at her joke. At least he's probably somewhat above average at singing, himself.]

Nope, not always. I like to be early to bed and early to rise! [Except when certain trios of girls are relentlessly pursuing them in the middle of the night.] Today's just a special occasion.

I thought so. You don't look like the type.

[Not that staying up late probably had a type but he sure didn't strike her as someone who would be a night owl.]

I guess I don't! [He can be like living sunshine, after all.] Katara's the one who sleeps late, after all. I don't get how people can be such sleepyheads. [But he says it fondly all the same. And then a thought occurs to him.] I should get a drink, shouldn't I?

[And he calls over to whoever's manning the bar.] I'll have a glass of melon juice, please! With the silliest straw you've got!

[Living sunshine that can blind a person, yeah. Particularly with requests like that.

Mai gives him this side glance.]

... The silliest straw.

[A beat, then:]

How exactly did Zuko manage to travel with you again.

[Were silly straws a group wide enforced thing? Is this some weird Air Nomad custom like the food in Ba Sing Se?]

Well... We had to stop the fire lord. [He says meekly. He really wishes it were an air nomad custom. Really, it's just something that appeals to Aang's ever-present inner child.]

And we became really good friends at the same time! So I'm sure we'll be great friends, too, Mai.

[maipokerface]

[She studies him for a moment. There aren't a lot of people who declare as much to Mai, much less want to.

Then her drink arrives and she shrugs as she reaches for it.]

I guess.

[He did remind her of Ty Lee anyhow.]

Yes! [He does a pump through the air at this. Victory! New friend acquired.]

I won't let you down, Mai, I promise. We're gonna be really great friends. [Any blades thrown at him in the past are automatically water under the bridge. He peers at her drink curiously while still waiting for his own.] What kinda drink is that?

[Theoretically, Ty Lee should be accustomed to Mai's general fun levels (miniscule) by now, but really, it's a party and she looks like someone just died or something.

So have some unnatural-colored concoction shoved uner your nose, Mai. It smells fruity.]

Here, try this! It's delicious!

[It looks like a rainbow threw up in a glass.]

It's... [Wait, good question, someone just handed her a couple glasses of it.]

It's fruity colorful stuff! Maybe you can help me name it, Mai.

[Because this is the best plan, yes.]

[Ty, why are you just drinking things people hand you? Don't do that.]

Are you really sure about that. Because the only name I'm coming up with is 'Why Would You Drink This'.

[It's not a natural color, you know.]

[Shh, it's a great idea. Bright colors are best colors!]

Of course I'm sure! You drink it cause it's delicious, that's why~ I'm thinking... hmm. What about 'Happiness Rainbow'? That's what it tastes like!

Happiness?

[Okay, paint her curious now. Like usual, Ty can manage to talk her into more than Azula could dream of. Like right now as she finally deigns to take a drink.

And then she winces.]

Is happiness really this sweet?

Why wouldn't happiness be sweet? You're talking like you expect it to be bitter.

[And then quickly, before Mai can respond to that...]

Oh, right, you probably do! [It isn't said cruelly, though -- light, giggling, a tease for a friend.]

[Okay, she's a little amused.]

Yeah, probably because of my 'dingy grey aura'.

[In fact, her wings are a pretty good example of that. They look like they need a good cleaning but it's simply the smoky, sooty greyness of them.]

Well, that's not helping things any. But I bet you could give it some sparkle, easy!

[Naturally, Ty Lee's wings are bright pink, and she's found every low-backed or halter top she can find, to set them free.]

Haven't you already tried that before? My aura is pretty sparkle proof.

[Frankly Mai could do without her own wings. She can't stand having them covered though and she refuses to go around in low-backed or halter top everything. So things have to be tailored and whatnot.]

Well, nothing's gonna happen if I don't keep trying, right? So I might as well!
