Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[ One of the first tenets of knighthood one learns upon accepting the mantle: the lack of action is a good thing. It ought to be savored and enjoyed because nobody knows when things might go to hell again and one's every day will be spent with their hand on the blade. Aether knows it well. He has come, over the seventy seven years of his life, to appreciate that the best parts of his life are the ones when he isn't needed. And now that he is stuck here, leagues away from his beloved Feywild, he contents himself knowing that he won't be needed there until he is done with this place.

Not that there is much to do in Luceti. Troubles come in bursts and his blade is comfortable in its sheath most of the time. His hobbies often take priority over his actual skills, which isn't so bad once he considers it. He did want to have more time to improve himself in subtle ways.

He seats himself on the edge of the fountain at noon, much like any representative of humankind's most admirable calling - the bard - would do. The instrument in his hands is large and ornate; it vaguely resembles a lute, but there is magic dancing through the veins between wood and metal, bringing the thing to life and binding it to his spirit as much as his hands are bound to the strings. He strums it for a while, testing the sounds until he finally comes across one with a little spirit, but finally begins to play.

It is a slow and relaxing tune for now, its melody firmly steeped in the memory of a summer daydream that comes when one looks up at the sky in the middle of a forest trail and finds a thousand and two shimmering leaves smiling down on them. It might eventually change into something else with his mood, or it might become whatever the listener requests.

After all, the lack of an open purse in front of him notwithstanding, he does this for the same reason any other bard would - the audience. ]

[You know, he's not sure why he's surprised that Aether can play an instrument that well, but he is, honestly. And it's perhaps because of that initial surprise Masaomi himself sits on a bench at the edge of the plaza which faces toward the fountain to listen to it, resting his chin on one of his palms. He realizes, of course, that he's admiring Aether, bu...t. Whatevs]

[ It really is an odd skill for him, simply because it's unnecessary. Aether may not be the original wielder of his blade, but he knows the tales attached to it very well. The Black Knight isn't supposed to be a hero in shining armor, only a peacekeeper in the grimmest sense of the word. Cut down those who disrupt the balance and crawl back into the dark from which you came. That is all he was ever meant to be.

But then, neither he nor his mentors agreed with such a destiny. The day Aether accepted his blade, he decided to seek a gentler path.

Which is why he so easily maintains the tune now, content with knowing that someone out here will be touched by it. He will finish it and be free for conversation soon enough...

Granted, maybe he'll be able to chat while playing even now. ]
