Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Like Rin, Haruka's out of food, but he's more purposeful in his shopping. Yeah that's mackerel in his basket. The sound of the bouncing can gets his attention, though, and he turns right when the can rolls into his foot. Surprise dawns on his face when he realises who it is.

Rin?!

The last time he'd seen Rin, he'd promised the next time they'd meet was during the swimming tournament. But it's too late to just turn around and walk away without being seen. And Haruka has no intention of running away.

So he stoops to scoop up the can, expression neutral when he holds it out.]

This is yours.

You just arrived, didn't you? [He nods towards the pants, shifting the bag of groceries in his arms to rest the strap on his shoulder.] Newcomers show up in only those sort of pants or a white dress.

[Pity he didn't get a real reaction out of the man before him. The white-silver hair reminded him a little too much of Shion, who'd just gone back to No.6 to see his mother. Instead of letting that thought get too far, he simply pushed his weight off the wall and kept his emotionless grey eyes on the white haired man.]

Newcomers to where, pray tell? Although, I think the more pertinent of the many questions right now is "Why did I wake up with wings grafted into my back"?

This village is called Luceti.... as for the wings, everyone here has them. [The red pair at his back twitch a bit as he turns, showing them to the newcomer.] And I am afraid the explanation of why you are here might take a while. Would you prefer to find your clothes first?

[Freyjadour wasn't about to be rude enough to make him to stand out in the snow while he explained.]

[He was holding his superfiber cloak around him tightly, but the cold didn't bother him too much, given it was superfiber. At least one good thing had come out of No.6. Besides, he was fairly used to the cold. Spring had just begun back home. The snow here was slightly disconcerting.

Luceti? He kept his expression schooled as he tried to think about the name. It seemed Italian, though Italy was long gone. He eyed the wings on Frey's back carefully. Were they here to be pawns in some greater scheme? He didn't like this one little bit.

He nodded in silent answer to Frey's question about finding his clothes.]

Since it seems I'm not going anywhere soon, tell me what you know. I've never heard of this place. Is it within the habitable zone?

[It certainly looked like it was. It hadn't even occurred to him he may not even be on Earth anymore, however.]

Yeah, don't mention it. It's what I do. [Not join teams-- well, actually... but the saving people bit.]

I was taking him post-series but if you think something else would work better...?

[Hearing his name called, Rin turns, and his face brightens upon seeing the other. Forgetting his hunger for the moment, he quickly steps forward, ignoring the can in Haruka's hand.]

Haru! I didn't know you were here.

This place... is mostly what you make of it, to be honest.

[He shrugs.]

Train? Go to school? Hope our friendly-neighbourhood scientists don't decide to screw with us anytime soon?

[...That's... not the kind of greeting he'd expected, and it shows on Haruka's face, that momentary slight widening of his eyes. The Rin he most recently remembers had been more antagonistic, so he stares for a moment, really looking at Rin's face.

His reply is cautious, a little guarded.]

I didn't know you were here either.

[A pause, before he glances aside.]

When did you get here?

[Rin's smile fades a bit at Haru's reaction, but he steps closer anyway.] Just a few days ago. This place is weird.

[He leans down, trying to catch Haru's eye.] What's wrong?

ahhh I didn't see this until today!

[Jean has been here for a month now, and a totally wiped out grocery store is a first. He grumbles as his eyes sweep the shelves.]

Knew it wouldn't last. [A never-ending supply of food? Too good to be true.]

[Hearing the voice, Rin peers around the empty endcap and sees the other.] Does this happen a lot?

[Oh hey, there's someone else here.]

Not that I've seen. But if you think about it for more than two seconds, it's completely unrealistic to expect that the food supply here would never run low.

Yeah? Well what do they expect us to do, starve now? [He crosses his arms and scowls. Hungry Rin is a grumpy Rin.]

[Privately, Haruka agrees; this place is weird. But when Rin steps forward, Haruka's gaze is inevitably drawn back to Rin. He doesn't step back, though, and remains resolutely rooted to the ground. He isn't exactly opposed to this change in Rin; as long as Rin isn't upset, Haruka's satisfied.

Nothing, he thinks, but instead he says--]

I promised we'd meet at prefecturals.

[There's a slight tang of sourness in his voice, annoyed he couldn't keep that promise. Even if prefecturals has absolutely no meaning while they're here.]

Heheh I want to play this out when they meet for real too...

Prefecturals? But that was...

[Rin's brow furrows in confusion, and he shakes his head.]

That was weeks ago. Don't you remember? [A sinking feeling settles in his gut. Prefecturals waas when everything began to change, when he beat Haru, when he saw the Iwatobi relay, when everything got turned upside down. Everything that mattered to him suddenly didn't anymore, and when he thought he'd be free he wasn't... but then the Regionals changed it all again, and what happens now if Haru doesn't remember any of this?]

[He searches Haru's expression desperately, but knows that the other boy rarely gives anything away.] Tell me you remember!

No, it's completely empty.

[Though there's a frown on her face, her mind is already working through other possible explanations. They're all overly extravagant and probably a lot more exciting than the actual truth.]

I wonder how long it's been like this.

[At first his eyes widen, before it's Haruka's turn to furrow his brow in confusion. When he'd arrived, it had been November. He hadn't given it much thought before, but had he somehow missed the prefecturals because he'd been here in Luceti? Or had he actually swum in the prefecturals, but simply doesn't remember because of whatever they did to him to put wings into his back?

Did Rin beat him in the prefecturals, too? Is that why he seems happier now? That's good, he thinks.]

I guess you won. Congratulations.

[I'm glad. The thought's quiet, an inkling of relief.]

[Rin nods first, then shakes his head again, not exactly denial, but disbelief. He steps forward, hands raising as though to grab for Haru, but he holds himself back.]

No, no, that's not it! That wasn't... wasn't...

[He's not sure if he can even explain it. What had happened, what mattered so much to him... it wasn't about the win, not anymore, but it took so long to get there.]

You still think that beating you is all that matters to me. [It's not a question. He knows, and it hurts now, to see it in Haru's eyes.]

[Rin's hands are shaking. He pulls them down to his sides, clenches them, attempts to stop.]

[Haruka blinks, but it's become apparent there's something wrong. He doesn't know what. He doesn't know what it is he's missing.

He stands his ground, meets Rin's gaze, his expression carefully neutral, voice cool.]

Isn't it?

[That's what is supposed to set us free.]

No, it's not. I mean... it was. But then I did. And... I still wasn't free.

[His heart is pounding, hands clammy and still shaking. How can he even explain this now?]

You don't understand. You can't. You weren't there, you don't remember.

[Haruka can tell that somehow, he's upset Rin; it's not hard to miss the physical signs.

His gaze slides to the side. What Rin says it's true; he can't understand what he doesn't recall experiencing.]

You got what you wanted, right?

[It doesn't matter if I don't remember it. As long as Rin is free, then he is, too. That's what Haruka believes.]

[Although she's wrapped in a dark brown cloak and wearing clothes meant to keep her warm as opposed to helping her look good, what is most striking about this girl is her long and vivid red hair. Personality? One word for you all -- Tsundere.

[This was barely better than trudging outside of the snow. A sigh passed through her lips as the teenager seated herself at the bar, not really liking the smell of the drink in the place but at the same time not having a choice. It wasn't as if it was any warmer outside, and she needed the shelter before she froze to death. There was never anything like that... Snow? Snow, in Belcrest...

That's about when she notices the barkeeper, and after some struggling with the menu (what kind of place didn't have heated ale or cider??) she ended up ordering a strange thing called 'hot chocolate'. Whatever that was. So it was while she waited that she noticed someone sitting next to her, a frown lining her face before she looked forward with the intent of ignoring said person. Maybe, just once, she would be lucky enough to be left to her own devices.

[On the journals appears Adela, frowning and a little unsure. Is this strange parchment working? She still isn't certain of it or its magic, but whatever the case she feels like she's in a position where using it is the only option she has left.]

I have yet to see how we are supposed to acquire weaponry in this place. Upon arriving here, I also seem to have...

[The look on her face is pained before she shakes it off, and she re-focuses on the journal in her lap.]

Nevermind. If we cannot order weaponry for use, is there at least ore to mine and a forge for use? I can make one myself if I have to.

There is a smithy and - and no one's making weapons there right now. [he says with a frown, thinking of Sokka's recent departure.] I don't know if there's ore around, but I could show you to the smithy if you want!

[Is this a child? Well, a child might know where the forge is... Though she wasn't exactly sure of how she felt about seeing him there.]
