It seems to be the prevailing attitude here. It's a major cause for the complacency I notice in the villagers toward their imprisonment. [A sentiment Walter doesn't share as evidenced by the frown on his face.] The idea is perpetrated by a Guide published by a long-standing resident here, but there is little evidence to point to such a conclusion beyond that of the occasional return of those who have left the world only to be brought back at a later time. Sometimes their memories return, other times, they do not.
