[For all she tried to learn before beginning her nursing training, some domestic chores still fell outside her realm of knowledge. Especially ones with modern conveniences that Luceti provided that she found rather complicated--a machine that washes your clothes for you? She likes to think herself quite open to such landmark innovations, but that doesn't mean she won't get slightly frustrated trying to operate one.

So she will simply have to learn, though this is not something she can learn on her own. That is why she opens her journal to write a quick note to the populace of Luceti at large, addressed to anyone who would be so kind as to assist her.]

Would someone be willing to show me the ways of the washer? I'm afraid I'm not having much luck with it, and I'd rather get things figured out properly before we come to blows. I'd be most appreciative of any kind of help you can lend.

First telephones and now washers - I suppose I ought to be appalled as Granny would be, but I won't deny that the future seems terribly convenient.

It's your lucky day. I've spent more of my adult life than I care to admit in close proximity to a washer. A dryer too.
