Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

GROCERY STORE

[A grocery store that's nearly cleaned out isn't promising, but that's the consequence when you remove currency and make everything free. Money brings stability for a reason - and chaos, for those a little smarter than the normal bunch.

He doesn't need a whole lot right now, anyway - some bread and a pack of cigarettes gave gotten him through worse times and will do for now. He lights one up the moment he gets outside and dips his hat down low over his face, thankfully retrieved after some rummaging through the other shops. Now he's set.

And in a bit of a hurry, apparently, for how he's trying to walk through the crowd. Sorry for bumping into any shoulders in advance.] Excuse me.

[innerdragon]

[Lance was actually on his way to pick through the grocery store himself. Though he hadn't expect to literally bump into a shadow from the past.

There's a single blink as he's bumped into but then a cold stare is given to the man at fault.]

Giovanni.

[hotboss]

[Oh? This escalated rather quickly. It's good people still remember his name, though. He hasn't been gone for that long.

It's unmistakeably Lance - some crowd to be stuck here with, huh?] It's been a while, hasn't it?

[innerdragon]

Not long enough I'm afraid.

[He would have been content with never seeing the former gym leader and Team Rocket boss ever again. Grudge much?]

[hotboss]

[What a rude and shocking thing to think! Kanto's beloved dragon master is as frowny as ever.]

I hope things haven't been too dull without me around. But considering where we are, you have bigger problems to worry about.

[innerdragon]

Which is exactly why I'm bothering to speak with you.

[If they were back home, things would be a lot more unpleasant right about now.]

[hotboss]

Mm. [He takes a slow drag of his cigarette.] I'm just an innocent bystander, for once.

[innerdragon]

Glad to hear it. We shouldn't have any problems in that case.

[Not that he entirely believes that. He will keep an eye on Giovanni, certainly.]

[hotboss]

[Gotten a little smarter, have you? That's alright - Giovanni won't mind the extra challenge.] None whatsoever.

[tsunsandsteals]

[Silver grumbles, rubbing his hip as he's kinda squished into a shelf full of jars.] Wouldn't kill you to watch where you're going, stupid.

[hotboss]

[Kids sure haven't changed a bit since he left. Hopefully this place isn't so full of them (especially the ambitious hat-wearing kind).

He shoots a look over a hunched shoulder; it's no longer his place to show a child his place - at least, not at this very moment. It's just some scrawny...red hair...

Giovanni pauses in his step.]

[tsunsandsteals]

...are you going to pick something out or are you just gonna stand there like an idiot all day? I've got places to be. [Hey, just because he's learned how to be nice doesn't mean he's always gonna do it. Especially when he's been squished into a shelf and would like to get this shopping business over with kthx.]

[hotboss]

[It - it really is him. Of all the places...

He's a little taller, of course, and the hair's a bit longer. What has he been up to since Giovanni left? Trapped here the entire time?

Not that the boy's up for chatting, probably. Giovanni pulls his hat down lower and steps away, looking for the exit. Looks like he'll have to alter his plans for being here a bit.]

[tsunsandsteals]

Finally. Now I just-

[Wait. Now that he's getting a better look-

It can't be. No, that's not...Dad ditched him a long time ago, why would he suddenly be here? He sucks in a deep breath, praying all the anger and hurt and stupid kid feelings won't come rushing at him. So what? Dad's here, big whoop, it's not like anyone's gonna know they're related or something.]

Yeah. Okay, you go on, then. [Pretends to be overly fascinated by the jars of stir-fry sauce.]

[hotboss]

[Oh, he heard that sharp inhale there. The boy knows.

Thankfully it looks like he's not enraged enough to make a scene in the middle of a store. He better get on his way then. But first...] Sorry.

[They can talk later, if Silver really wants to.]

[tsunsandsteals]

[He's a little too numb and shocked to make a scene right now. Count yourself lucky, Dad. And no, he doesn't want to talk. Not to you.

Not really.

Even if he did, it wouldn't change anything.]

Don't let it happen again.

[hotboss]

[He's right - it's not going to change anything. Nor can he really promise it won't happen again.

He'll get going, then.] Farewell.

[ It's a light bump, not quite on the shoulder. At all. Because it's a boy that he bumps into, black hair and hatless and with white wings, who glances in Giovanni's direction but doesn't properly see him beyond the black of his coat. ]

Oh -- sorry.

[ He's got his own small parcel of breads and pastries from the bakery, since. Whoops, that food shortage today in the convenience store. ]

[hotboss]

[At least some children here have some decency. Even if said child is...

This has got to be some kind of nightmarish joke.

There's something a little off about this, though. Giovanni's certain he's been away for a couple years, and the kid here looks he hasn't aged a bit. Go figure.]

[ Surprise, it's the kid of your dreams. Red might've continued on, but the sound of Pikachu following on behind - quite a bit so, his own roll held close in both stubby arms - makes him look back, and then consequently at the man who's looking at him.

His face is dark in the shade of his wide brim hat, features not too familiar. It's been a while, for the both of them, though Red does peer... ]

Don't I know you...?

[pokeboy]

[ And yet when he asks, his voice trails off, it already starting to click into place before he finishes. Pikachu stops when he sees Red walk backwards, features suddenly hardened and his hands holding tighter onto the bag he holds. ]

What are you doing here?

[ The question is sharp, his voice clearly not lost. ]

[hotboss]

[Ah, that's more like it. There's that stubborn boyish look he remembers so well.]

I'm surprised that's all you have to say to me. Isn't it for the same reasons you're here?

[pokeboy]

[ Don't you tease his hasty thoughtless mouth. ]

You can't do what you want here. [ Let's get that out right now. ] Got it? You're going to find even bigger trouble here than me.

[ Uh oh, Pikachu can see where this might possibly go. Either way, it's time to discard his bread to bound over to Red's feet --

-- and now he can see what's got Red bothered. Oh yes. You. ]

[hotboss]

[Yes, him, and Giovanni definitely remembers you, rat.]

You still haven't learned kids shouldn't get in the way of adults. But as for right now... [He exhales a puff of smoke away from Red.] I'm just a Trainer. Are you going to try to stop me from doing that?

[pokeboy]

[ This isn't back home, no seemingly endless mass of underlings at this man's disposal or pokémon to commit crimes against. And Red doubts he could really take on all of the trainers here or be able to do anything to their pokémon.

That doesn't have to make him any more tolerable.

It's a small pause between what Giovanni says and when Red speaks, just to stop himself from throwing out the first childish thing that comes to mind. ]

I would if I could -- but that's what your people do. [ Thieving them from their trainers; it's a bitter thing to be reminded of. ] I'm not going to let you make people believe you're just a normal trainer.

[ It'd help if he knew his name -- but by the looks of it, 'the shady-looking guy that smokes' might just do. ]
