[ At the sound of a voice, Kaladin edges a little farther into the forest. Between the trees he can make out a figure, and he trots over - trying not to think about how strange the whole affair is. When he gets a little closer, he sees what seems for all intensive purposes, a portly elderly man, seemingly alone. Cautiously optimistic he approaches the seemingly unarmed man, raising a hand in greeting. He feels his wings shift a little beneath the fabric of his coat, almost an excited little flutter - and he has to stop a minute just to wrangle them back into place. It takes some considerable force of will to feel them fold back down uncomfortably, but its worth it. Wouldn't want to be making strange first impressions after all.]

'Lo there!

[ He calls, before inspecting the man further. Syl slips past his shoulder and floats almost lazily over before shooting a smile back at Kaladin. At least she seems to have no qualms about approaching the stranger.]

I'm a little unfamiliar with the terrain here. I was looking for the nearest town so I might find my bearings..
