don't stop me now
Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
X-23/Laura Kinney || X-Men/Marvel
ii. [Or you find her around town, stopping by the item shop and sifting through things, before heading off to the library. Then it's a last stop at the battle dome where going through sets of martial arts moves, her moves steady and quick, body honed to this task]
iii. [Or you can find her up a tree, balanced easily on a branch as she thumbs through a book, a faintly sad smile on her face as the sunsets]

lemme know if he should be blue and I'll fix this orz
The face however, pauses her, Laura frowning just slightly as she studies him. It's a human face, one she knows Nightcrawler doesn't have, yet the features are of a similar structure, enough to prompt her to speak]
Nightcrawler?
don't worry you got it! I probably should have been clearer.
He comes to a stop when he hears the voice - the unfamiliar voice - saying his name. It could be one of several possibilities: another of the people who knew him during his previous stay at Luceti that he couldn't remember, or someone who knew the Kurt from one of those other universes which made his head hurt.
Kurt looks up to face her, with a slight smile and a bemused expression.]
Hi there! Nightcrawler... that's me, alright! I'm just a little less... crawley then you might be expecting. [After all, using the name Nightcrawler would mean familiarity with the fuzzy form. It's not exactly a name he throws around while trying to blend in with the civvies.]
It's cool! I just wanted to doublecheck
You are. [Another pause so as she studies him, mind ticking over all she knows to try and work out how without finding an answer.] How?
no subject
It's a hologram. Covers up the way I look, you know? But you - you know me.
no subject
I understand holograms and their purposes. [pause.]I know a Nightcrawler. But you look too young to be him.

[She rises from the ground, straightening her uniform down before she heads for the exit, quiet and contemplative, not at all like she'd just been fighting a match as grueling as she had.]
no subject
You didn't kill him. A hesitation like that could cost you your life or more.
[Sure she understands right and wrong, but that doesn't mean she would hesitate from killing someone who deserved it, who was a clear enemy. And certainly not a simulated enemy. Her training goes beyond that.]
no subject
... Laura, hello. I didn't see you there. [She follows Laura's gaze around the empty chamber.]
I know. Were we on the field, I might have. [And she already has. Something she does not like dwelling on.]
But this was a training exercise, and I think I could afford even as small a mercy as that.
no subject
I stood back to let you finish. [An explanation. Probably unnecessary]
I see. [She can also see how big the chance of Ororo not doing it also is. She is not a killer after all. Not like Wolverine. Not like Laura herself.]
I was taught to train as if everything was always a real battle. They often were. [Wolves and bears and repetition over and over again until she got every step correct, Dr Rice always reminding her she could never measure up to the true Weapon X] It is not as if the simulation could have felt pain.

just as a girl jogs up below and chuckles exasperatedly.]
Don't bother people, Velma!
[She's been looking for the big vulture for a while, if her tiredly cheerful state is anything to go by.]
no subject
The voice however stops her, and Laura stares down at the other girl studying her quietly]
It belongs to you?
no subject
[Having a naughty-natured vulture is suffering, folks.]

[The bird scoffs as well, leaning closer. Hilda starts to head up the tree herself, huffing.]
Mandibuzz. That's her species.
no subject
[This must be one of those differing worlds things. Hilda should be glad Laura has no real interest in gaming]
You are not from Earth are you?
no subject
[Down below, Logan shoots a glance up at her. he was just heading into the bar himself, but hadn't expected to find girl-him perched on the roof.]
no subject
[She simply stares down for a few seconds, before stepping off the roof to go to him. Her ankles may crack, but it's nothing she hasn't felt before and it's a problem that's taken care of as soon as it happens]

People with interesting lives got the most reason to drink.
[That's one kind of logic to it, in any case. He did raise an eyebrow at her way of getting down. A tad reckless, not to mention painful.]
no subject
When they drink they are also more often to share information.
[Meaning she was curious and wanted to see if she could learn any more about this place and it's people. Asking could open the floor for lies after all. And the pain was nothing, not in the scale of things]
no subject
[Though, he takes a moment to consider her. She's older than his X-23. But he hadn't quite figured out by how much.]
Only question is if yer drinking age or not.
no subject
[A slight headtilt, a small glance to him. She's not sure why age matters, alcohol does not really affect her, not with the healing factor. And that's speaking as if she was the type to drink]
It depends which laws this place stands by. I am under the age in America, does Luceti follow the same laws?
