Test Flight Meme

the luceti test flight meme

Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub! Don't have one? Just dance your butt off.
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Arrival

(So waking up on the beach with fuzzy to no memories of what had happened the night before wasn't the most unusual thing for Tony Stark. Even before he opened his eyes he knew where he was. He could taste the salt of the water on his lips and feel the sand beneath him. Last night must have been fun was what he thought to himself as he lay there, lightly stretching. But then he noticed a soreness in his back, something underneath him was making him feel mighty uncomfortable. He shifted slightly under the assumption that there must be a rock or a piece of driftwood that he must have fallen asleep on that was causing it, but when the uncomfortable attachment followed his movements he frowned, and reached back to brush off whatever it was.

Feathers.

Tony lept up at that, his eyes flying open at the alarming realisation that he must have been sleeping on a dead seagull and gross oh god when did i have my last booster shots what the hell. With his focus on trying to get the dead bird off his back he didn't even notice that it wasn't his beach he was on. It took a moment, but after trying to nearly pull them off, but that causing a sharp bolt of pain to run through him, he realsied that no. It wasn't a dead bird he had slept on. He had wings.

Looking over his shoulder he got a glimpse of them. Fresh as they were, they weren't the ugliest things. Though dusted with sand at the moment, he could see that they were red and gold, appropriately enough. It was then that he finally looked around to his surroundings. No, this was definitely not his beach. Or anywhere he had been before. He shaded his eyes as his brow furrowed, trying to see anyone or anything where he could get some answers, before muttering to himself:)

What the hell was slipped in my drink last night?

[We'll just say Loki happens to be riding by on his horse, since he has a way of being at the right place at the right time. Or the wrong place at the wrong time depending on how one looks at it. And he is, perhaps bizarrely, wearing a pair of sunglasses.

At the sound of Tony's voice he draws Vakri to a halt, but does not dismount. Tony had been here before; their relationship had been rather...complicated. He's not entirely certain what he's going to get, nor what he wants to get either. This could make life immeasurably more annoying. On the other hand, Tony has some very useful knowledge and skills.

He cocks his head, listening and definitely not looking directly at Tony.

Dryly:]
You drank yourself into another dimension instead of a tart's bed. Well done.

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-19 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
( Oh. Great. Of all the people he would want to be the first he saw when he woke up in a strange place, with no memories of the night before and wings on his back, obviously Loki was at the top of his list. Or maybe not. Definitely not.

Tony turned to face him, still keeping his hand up to shade his eyes since he didn't have sunglasses as Loki did(what), and his frown furrowed more. No. Nope. This was not good. This had to be a nightmare, one from which he would like to wake up from now. Why couldn't he just have his normal nightmares that woke him up drenched in sweat?)

Well. That's a first. I don't get a lot of them anymore.

(Is this some elaborate joke?)

Care to give me a rundown on everything? Do you have wings? Turn around.
complicatedliar: (little smirk)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-19 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, one question answered. This is obviously not his Tony, so to speak. Or perhaps it'd be better to frame that was Rogue's Tony. Either way, not the highly annoying not quite friend, not quite enemy that he had before. That makes things much easier.]

Awful demanding for a mortal who just awoke with sand in his translucent pants. [Sure, he can't see Tony, but that's how everyone is dressed when they wake up. Well, unless someone in the Malnosso had enough of a sense of humor to put the man in a sundress, but they've never been particularly funny if you ask Loki.]

Really Tony. I'd hoped we'd gotten past the bit where you asked me stupid questions. [Tony can walk around him if he wants. He's not going to do a little twirl for the man.]
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#5172043)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-19 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
(No, this was definitely not his Tony. Or anyone else's Tony, for that matter. He was his own, come to this world for the first time for reasons unbeknown to him. So far. He was, of course, going to try to figure it out.)

What? (Welp. He hadn't even thought about that. His gaze went down, briefly, but at the same time there were more pressing matters at hand than being decent. Plus, he didn't have anything to hide. A low grumble rumbled at the back of his throat as he started to walk around the other's horse, to yes, indeed, see that he too had a pair of wings.)

What are they for? They're too small to fly.
complicatedliar: (all according to plan)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-20 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
[Smirk.] Oh, you think it isn't a problem now, but you've a long walk ahead of you.

[Sandy shorts and bare feet. Sounds not fun. He turns his head, trying to at least keep one ear toward Tony. Not that he's really worried about the man trying to physically hurt him.]

They're a wonderfully painful way to get killed, in addition to a fun avenue for being possessed by spirits.
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#3825866)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-20 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
And I don't suppose I could catch a ride on your horse, hm?

(No, he's definitely not going to think that even a possibility, but for the time being, Tony's trying to figure the other out. He doesn't seem to be threatening at the moment, save for the fact of who he is. But for the time being it's best not to provoke him, Tony's already glanced down at his wrists and the thin metal bands he wore around his wrists that would usually mean his suit was just a few minutes away at most were gone. Plus, even if he had them, the Iron Man suit wasn't made to fit these wings. Ugh.

Oh well. He's had worse. If anything he could try to take a quick dip in the ocean to get most of the sand off, and then just start walking. He could, if he squinted, see the faint outline of what looked like a city off in the distance, so at least he knew where he was headed. He thought.)

Wonderful. Just what I was hoping.
complicatedliar: (smirk)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-20 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't suppose you could manage to ask more nicely than that, hm?

[Totally mocking you.] And have you even ever been on a horse, Tony?

[Ah, Tony. Some things never changed. You are amusing when you're not being a self-righteous prick.] It's your favorite, I know.

And you lucky thing, there also isn't any internet to distract you from your important every day life.
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#5172043)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-21 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
You'll have to forgive me, I don't have much practice in having to ask for things. Can I hitch a ride on your horse? (pause pause pause.) Please?

For your information, I have. My parents attempted to get me into spots when I was younger, and so I tried a variety, including a six month stint of polo before I was kicked off the team for missing too much practice.

(That's all said rather matter-of-factly, before he's rolling his eyes just a bit. Before groaning. Oh Loki, you truly are the bearer of bad news.)

So what is there to do here?
complicatedliar: (eye roll)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-21 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. [Wow. He got a please. He'll give that one a 3/10 for effort.

Hmm, what to do. If he hadn't had a strange sort of not-friendship with Tony before, he might have just laughed and ridden away. However...]

Oh, all right. For old time's sake, I suppose. [This way he can stop feeling like he might actually owe Tony something. It's a hideous, hideous feeling. Debts unpaid have a way of biting like snakes, at the worst possible moments.]

Good. Then you'll know how to mount.

[Shrug.] Most of the village spends its time engaging in meaningless gossip and tiresome hobbies. [If he has to read one more post where some fresh-faced little mortal chirps on about cookies, he is going to eat someone's face.] Those of us with any sort of knowledge of spatial mechanics prefer to work on a possible route of escape. Which some might claim is equally meaningless, but it is better than twitting on about gosh, I don' t know, what flavor of ice cream do you like best to beat the heat?

[Ugh, he could just vomit, thinking about it.]
fbitchesgtmoney: appletooth (pic#8076370)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-21 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
( come on now loki, there are very few people who get a please, even if it's not the most genuine please in the world. far from it really, but he should at least have a 5/10 for effort. he is talking to someone who tried to get all up on his grill and mind control him and whatnot. )

...old time. Okay. ( you know what. he's not going to question it. he gets the vibe that if he does the offer will be ripped away and it's best not to do that after first receiving it. is he supposed to pull himself up now? how does this work, he's not usually the one in back. )

Of course. Though generally I'm in front. Should I use you for leverage?

Sounds thrilling. ( not that it seems unlikely that he would partake. judging people is one of his favourite hobbies. but that was usually during the enjoyment of alcohol and all. he did hope there were other things to do as well. ) So you believe there is a way to get out of here? ( interesting. he would prefer to be in that camp, from the sounds of it. though if loki's in it, that could potentially be awkward. he would have to consider it carefully. or he could always do his own thing, whatever there was to do. but he would have to find that out once he get to the city centre.

but first he had to get up on that damn horse. )
complicatedliar: (the eyebrow is raised)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-22 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow, it's almost like Tony knows Loki is capricious and temperamental or something.]

Oh no. You get the... let me remember how mortals put it. Ah yes. "The bitch seat."

[Mortal slang. Hilarious and terrible.

Loki sighs and withdraws his foot from one of the stirrups then offers Tony his hand.]
Don't mistake this as a sign that I find you in the least tolerable.

[That last question... really, Tony?]

Do you believe that there is a problem to which no solution can be found?
fbitchesgtmoney: sways (pic#8030624)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-22 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
(Well, at least, on the bright side, when Loki uses the ~mortal slang~, it gets a genuine burst of laughter from Tony. Because let's be real he was not expecting that. And it seems weird. But he approves. A+

Thank you, Loki. He'll be taking your hand right now, foot in the stirrup and hoisting himself up. He might not look ~large, but at least he's solidly built so he manages to clamber up on his own accord, for the most part. Bitch seat it is, and it could definitely be worse. His hand will go to the back of the saddle to hold on.)

Nope.
complicatedliar: (all according to plan)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-24 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mortal slang is amusing, it truly is. And it does achieve a desired effect on Loki's part. Since he's decided he is going to give Tony a ride in to town (you know, unless Tony annoys him and then just gets dumped off the horse) better to make it a bit friendlier. He doesn't like having people at his back. It's the principle of the thing.]

Then there you have your answer. We were brought here by some means. I haven't seen convincing proof yet that there is such a creature as a one-way spatial door.

So then it is a question of finding the appropriate theory and then manufacturing the necessary devices.
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#3794767)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-24 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
( once the horse starts walking it does get some little friendlier. Or more intimate at least since Tony realised that just holding onto the saddled wasn't providing as much stability as he was hoping, which was why his hand moved up to Loki's hip, fingers curling into the fabric there. This is definitely one of the most awkward situations he's been is lately. It's just going to end up filed under: why and what is my life. There are quite a few things in that folder.)

True. And I suppose you've seen a lot when it comes to that kind of thing. What I know of black hole research is probably miles behind you.

(there was a thoughtful pause there, Tony just letting his mind wander for a moment.) So what kind of people do you have working with you trying to figure it out?
complicatedliar: (ask me if I give a fuck)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-28 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's just going to pretend to not notice that grip. Because this is entirely awkward. He doesn't even like this Tony. And it's not as if the previous one and him had ever made it past the complicated fenemies stage.]

Hah. What most people know of black holes is miles behind. [It's amazing when you can learn by falling through one. Beyond new meanings for the word pain, that is.]

Mostly Walter. He's the mad inventor sort, I suppose you could say. [He really likes Walter. His kind of slightly cracked guy.] I've considered engaging Jane's help again, as she was in on the project before, but hadn't yet decided.

The previous you was in charge of the last round, and worked it out with her. You didn't let me anywhere near the project before because it's almost as if we don't like each other. [Imagine that.] I'm not in the business of pointlessly reliving old battles, not when it gets in the way of accomplishing a goal.

[Well, a goal important to him. And really, he's had his revenge on Tony. Throwing him out a window was fun. Wouldn't mind doing it again, all things being equal, but can also live without it. As far as he's concerned, coup has been appropriately counted. But then again, he's never really been bothered enough to hate humans, as much as many seem to want to believe they're worth that much of his attention. One has to care to begin with before hatred is really possible.]
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#2761814)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-28 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
(Yes. It is without a doubt terribly awkward. But also better than bouncing off the backside of the horse. At least, for Tony it's better than bouncing off. Loki would probably find it terribly amusing, which would make it all worse. So he'll just hold on and hopefully they'll get into whatever this city or town-thing is.)

I have no doubt that this is true. And will probably stay that way unless you, or someone else, decides to share. You have a very unique vantage point on it all.

I see. (Tony's eyes narrow just a bit as he works to keep track of it all. Wait. Jane?) Foster's here, too? Who all is here? Wherever here is.

(Wait. Again. Hold the phone. Previous you? Is it a migraine when it starts to throb behind your eyes, because if so, he is definitely starting to get a migraine. He lets go of the awkward grip he had on Loki for now, and rubbed his eyes.) Huh. Wow. I wonder why. That's just plain strange. (It does sound like him, mostly. More than he'd like to admit.)

How long have you been here?
complicatedliar: (smirk)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-28 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[Incredibly amusing, really. Any time Tony Stark falls over is a good day as far as Loki is concerned. Well. Not really. But he's not going to say that.]

Mmm. Indeed. And I do, now and then, when the mood trikes me. [Share, that is. But he doesn't do that 'goodness of his heart' nonsense. It's always to buy something, even if it's just emotional capital or reputation to further solidify his position.]

My brother is here. Steve Rogers, unfortunately. There have been others you know, but they are gone now.

[Smirk.] I don't know either. It was very mean of him. Hurt my feelings terribly. [Hey man, if you're not going to bring up the blowing up a city and throwing you out a window thing, he'll leave that alone for now. Because still not contrite.]

All told, nearly two years.
fbitchesgtmoney: appletooth (pic#8076305)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-28 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
And you get something in return, right? (Come on now, Loki. Tony has played this game for years. Although not as long as the other, obviously. But he know how it works. You give a little to get a little. That's just business for you.

And the migraine starts to become more intense then. He moves his hands to rub his temples instead.)
Thor and Steve are here. How can they be here? I just saw them two days ago. (A pause. If they were there, somehow, then it couldn't just purely be hell, right?) How did they get out? And I suppose if they come back, like apparently I have, they don't remember anything?

I didn't know you had feelings, but hey, you learn something new every day. (He is still mostly concerned by the fact that if thrown off or out of something he won't have anything to catch him, so Tony's all for trying to keep up the semblance of pleasantries they're currently exhibiting.)

...damn.
complicatedliar: (smirk)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I've the basic honesty to admit that I do. [Smirk.]

Time is relative. As is space. I'd suggest you don't cling to the boring, linear perception of either. [He shrugs one shoulder.] Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

I don't. I just pretend to make humans feel better.
fbitchesgtmoney: buckybear (pic#8031134)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-28 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
In another life. Timeline. Whatever, we probably would have made excellent business partners.

I can't promise I'll be able to do that immediately, but I'll try. Since more and more every day it's becoming obvious that the world is definitely not how I was raised to see it. For better and worse. Mostly for worse right now since I've apparently somehow been sucked through a wormhole, timehole, messhole and ended up hear. (That does not help at all.) Right.

(A snort.) Does it work?
complicatedliar: (giggley)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-28 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[This Tony is so much friendlier than the other, and they haven't been through nearly as much together. How odd. Then again, this Tony is also dependent upon him to get to the village and probably doesn't want to get dumped off a horse and probably trampled. Loki knows better than to set any kind of store in it.] I'll take that as a compliment.

It is no skin from my hide, though I shall be disappointed if you don't pick up on it quickly. [If you squint at that statement long enough, you might realize it's actually something of a compliment coming from this asshole.]

You're the human. You tell me.
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#8031083)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-28 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
(Different points in life, perhaps? Or. Something. Mostly the fact that he doesn't want to get dumped off the horse now that he's just holding onto the saddle again. Also why he hasn't made any references to certain Norse Mythology. Sometimes he manages to use his brain before his mouth when it comes to saying dumb things. He has a semblance of perseverance.) As you should.

Once I get adjusted to something, I pick up on things easily. (Which roughly translates to somewhat of 'once i am sure this is real life and I didn't have acid slipped into my drink at some point'.) And if I have any questions, I'll know who to try to weasel information out of by finding something they want.

Ah, but I don't believe you have emotions.
complicatedliar: (Default)

[personal profile] complicatedliar 2014-07-29 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You have all the time in the world to... adjust. There's little enough to do in this frightful place unless you like listening to young humans natter on about cultural rituals. [He laughs.] I don't care for sweets. That's the only hint you'll get.

Clever man, then. You and Steve Rogers alone have seen past my most excellent play-acting. [Well, no. Steve probably believes he has feelings. Just that they're all bad, so to speak.]
fbitchesgtmoney: (pic#5172041)

[personal profile] fbitchesgtmoney 2014-07-29 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Wonderful (The sarcasm. It drips. But it doesn't mean he's not listening. Tony is, and has been to everything Loki has been saying. So far it seems fairly rudimentary, no lies detected as of now, at least no big ones. Some things may seem odd, the past him and whatnot, but the way it's said so casually, so naturally. It's too simple to be a lie.) ...alcohol? Do they have that here? I need a stiff drink.

Eh. When it comes to Rogers, he likes to say that I'm unfeeling too, so he might just say that to everyone.

(no subject)
