Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

I don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. [Of course, there's that glint in his eye that makes it very clear that he does.]

I think I could use a hint. Or a demonstration, maybe. I'm open to different possibilities.

[He's not making a very good case for the painting, is he.]

Of course you don't. [Yes, Pepper sees it. And she might be fighting off a smile now, because it's an activity she's kind of fond of too.]

Different possibilities, hmm? How very flexible of you, Mr. Stark.

[She puts a bit of emphasis on that word, flexible. Takes a step closer to him, leans in just enough so he might think she's giving in--

And then pats him on the cheek. Because Tony is really cute. She just doesn't always say it, because his ego is big enough without her help.]

After you help me put this stuff up. Or at least in a safe place where it won't get blown to pieces.

[He really isn't. Pepper's okay with that.]

[Oh, that was cruel. The cruelest. You cut him real deep right there, Miss Potts.]

Alright, alright. You play Design Star and I'll take care of the technical side of things. You'll have the levellest frames in the whole damn Luceti.

[But he's holding you to that 'after' thing.]

[Then she'll just have to kiss it and make it better, won't she? All part of that 'after' thing.]

Thank you. I'm sure the other residents will be appropriately jealous.

[And she'll let him. But right now? Business mode, and Pepper's back to appraising wall space.]

We could probably use some shelves too. I didn't just get wall art.

[That usually does the trick, yes.]

...Shelves? [Maaan he just got okay with the idea of the art. Now there's going to be shelves, too?

It is time to pretend like this is a bigger deal than it is for fun again.]

And what sort of things will you put on these shelves, Miss Potts?

[handing]

Yes, shelves. You can build shelves, can't you?

[Of course he can. Pepper knows it, knows it's so utterly beneath him he'll probably scoff at the idea. But maybe it'll also give him something to do, which wouldn't be a bad thing. Tony's dangerous when he gets bored.]

Hmm? Oh, you know. Pottery, sculptures. Things that don't hang on a wall. I found the kinetic piece I had on my desk before. They actually had it, at the item shop.

[The little twirling number Tony loved so much. She's not actually cruel enough to put it in his lab, but hey. He's not the only one who can dish out a hard time.]

[alloys]

I can. The question is if I will.

[Yep, right on the mark. Especially if she's expecting him to build regular, boring, un-innovative shelves. What's the fun in that?]

If you bring that in here, I can't be held responsibly for when it become target practice.

[Because it would be inevitable. He hates that thing.]

If you--Tony. Are you saying you won't make shelves for me?

[Pepper's not actually as indignant as she sounds over that. Tony's got his pride, and Pepper respects that. But she also still needs a set of shelves.]

I don't understand why you don't like it. It's soothing.

[alloys]

I'm not saying I won't--exactly. Just let me have a little free reign over their design, and we're in business.

[Come on. They'd be customizable to a tee.]

Except for the part where it just keeps going. And never stops. I don't need a desk toy to remind me of Newton's Laws.

[handing]

Free reign. You're...well. You're you, and you expect me to give you free reign over something I need to be stable, and not break, and not break everything I put on it when it does whatever you make it do, which will probably be completely unnecessary.

[You see her concern here, Tony. Mostly it's that last bit.]

It's not a toy, it's a kinetic sculpture. And the fact that it is kinetic is what makes it soothing.

[alloys]

Pepper. [He leans in. This point needs to be emphasized, okay?] Do I make things that break? No. Do I make things that break other things? ...Admittedly, sometimes yes. However, you can trust me on this one. A little ingenuity can go a long way.

[Unnecessary? He'd hardly see it as unnecessary. Just improving.]

And it's a toy. Come on. The least you could do is own up to it being a toy.

[handing]

No, you don't make things that break, but you can't tell me that they don't break other things. You can't. [She's talking over Tony a bit now, because he's being stubborn, but so is she. So there.] And even if it doesn't break, I don't want shelves that'll outshine the art on them, which is exactly what they'll do if you make them however you want.

[Yeah, see, that's why Pepper's concerned. Her definition of 'unnecessary' is pretty different from Tony's. So's her definition of 'improving.']

It is not a toy, Tony. Just because it moves doesn't make it a toy.

[alloys]

What? It'd just be my way of contributing to your art collection. You can't tell me what I build isn't art. See? It definitely belongs. And I should have free shelf reign.

[At this point, he's pretty much only making the case to see where she'll draw the line. Because he'll build them the way she wants, eventually. She knows that, too.]

But you have to admit, it has a lot of toy-like qualities.

[handing]

Except this entire place is already full of your "art," which is the point of me getting other art. So there's more of me along with all of you.

[Sharing space. It's a novel concept, she knows.]

Well, if you want to make that argument, then your Iron Man suit is a toy too. It's a giant action figure.

[alloys]

[Ouch, he can practically hear the quotation marks there.]

Okay, when you put it like that? It kind of makes me sound awful to refuse. So I guess you leave me no choice.

[not like she didn't have the argument won from the beginning, but you know how it is.]

I'd also like to think that most toys don't have massive, destructive qualities, but let's face it--I'm not exactly up and up on what kids are into these days. I mean, besides the Avengers.

[handing]

[Truth does tend to hurt.]

Good to hear. [Sad thing is, she means it. Pepper's smiling and everything.] I'll figure out what I need and let you know. And Tony? Thank you.

[She also means that, and Pepper leans over to give Tony a quick kiss.

Right until he brings up the Avengers. Then she rolls her eyes.]

That's probably for the best, considering. I'm almost afraid of what sort of kids toys you would design.

[alloys]

You're very welcome. [He leans into that kiss, still grinning. Even if she knew he would eventually agree all along, he'll take that reward, thank you very much.]

Oh, it can be that hard. Kids will play with anything with bright colors and moving parts. I assume. But I'm usually right when I assume.

[He doesn't exactly have firsthand experience with what kids play with.]

[handing]

[Somehow Pepper doesn't think he'll complain, no. And it's good to reward Tony when he admits Pepper's way is the right way, even if she knows it's coming.

...And okay, she likes kissing him. Not that she'll be saying that out loud, because Tony doesn't need the ego boost. But she is still smiling when they part.]

Bright colors and moving parts? Gee, that isn't anything like the toys you play with. And of course, no one has ever described you as a big kid.

[alloys]

[He opens his mouth to protest, but--] Okay, point. But I think there's something to be said about the fact that no one can afford my toys. That, and being a superhero? Not all fun and games. Well--[a smirk]--most of the time.

But your desk-kinetic-moving-sculpture-thing? A toy. Definitely. Unquestionable, really. Ask anyone. That I choose.

Avengers Spoiler!

[handing]

No, I wouldn't call it fun and games at all. You do know that I worry when you're off doing I don't even know what, especially when I only have some tv reporter going on about you guiding a missile through some alien space portal that leads God only knows where.

[Her smile's getting tight, Tony. Right at the corners of her mouth, in that way that says she's probably not going to be smiling for much longer.]

Right. And will you be choosing anyone over the age of twelve?

[alloys]

[He frowns in a mock pout. Well--mostly mock. He really doesn't like the idea of making her worry. Part of the job description, but he still doesn't like it.

So he'll reach out to take her hand in his with a little reassuring squeeze.]

Hey. At least I tried to call that time. [...] And maybe. I don't exactly have many acquaintances under the age of twelve, you know.

[handing]

I don't know if that makes it better or worse. [Because seriously, how bad did it have to get for Tony to call her?

Still. That touch helps. Pepper mimics the squeeze.]

Maybe meaning no. [Okay, now she can smile again.] It doesn't matter. Since I actually want to keep it, it's not going anywhere near your lab.

[alloys]

[Pret...ty bad, admittedly. But hey, things worked out, right? Crisis averted.

He'll just hope he doesn't have a repeat performance anytime soon.]

And once again, I'd like to point out that I'd only make it better--but if that's not your kind of thing, alright. That's fair. Keep your desk toy.

[Yes, let's not do that Tony. Pepper likes it much better when he's safe and sound.]

Thank you, I will. [And in one piece on top of that.]

Come on. There's still a pile of artwork to move. [And the promised reward, but somehow Pepper doubts Tony needs to be reminded of that.]

[Oh no, he didn't. So he'll help move that artwork. Mostly. Without begrudging it.

Just as long as he gets one piece of artwork of himself in there sometime...]
