the luceti test drive meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Would you like some [not tea, Zuko is working there; not lemonade, Sanji will see Asami and that would be - problematic] soda? It's a Luceti tradition to introduce it to everyone from our world.

...Well, it won't be an introduction, but you can show me what sorts they have here. [And even if she's not the hugest drinker of it is it popular and is a thing. ~~even if it's not the same type~~]

[She blinks at that. Soda in the future, huh? Will Sokka be glad to hear that.]

Okay, then. Let's go to the grocery store.

[Outside where you can clear your head and have some space and pull it together and whatnot.

She starts walking.]

[Yeah, okay. Let's just... follow the master waterbender who should be like seventy years older and not be -

[That's okay, Katara's GOT this.]

It took a while to get used to all the different things that they have in the grocery store - not the mention the way everything was prepared - but soda was a whole new experience. What kind of flavor do you usually like?

[She'll just be casually inserting references to the weirdness of worlds and times while trying to ground Asami in her own knowledge.]

Peach's my favorite, when I have it. [Which... isn't totally often. Fruit flavored ones. The taste is weirdly contrary with some of them ~~itp I try to decide if the avatar world has pineapples or not~~] Apple's alright as well, or ones flavored to ash bananas. I'm not as fond of the cactus juice flavor.

Ah - well, those we don't really have here, but maybe we will now that you've shown up. Most of the sodas we have here are from Earth. Have you met anyone from one of the Earths yet?

Only briefly, but I heard Earth's got some very nice cars on it, so i'm hoping someone could show me them at the Dome later. [Because she heard it could do that. She's also made it her quest to get a nice racer programmed into it]

[And excellent, a casual way to reference the time overlap.]

Oh, are there cars in our world now? We were just starting to see motorized vehicles in my time. [She makes a face. That's weird to say.] What are they like?

Fast? Way more efficient than the ones from the later days of the War now that the good ones are gasoline powered.

[how does one describe a satomobile...] There's a few companies producing them.

[She's much less interested in the companies...]

And you enjoy driving them?

I grew up around them, driving them and cycles makes me feel more at ease.

[So yeah pretty much]

Mmm, then it's a good thing the Dome can imitate them.

[And entering the grocery shop, Katara leads them down the soda aisle.]

Now, which kind would you like to try? Toph and Sokka both really like the orange soda, but I prefer cream soda or root beer.

[Toph... too. Okay, let's just not think about that, focus on the soda. Orange? Hm.]

What sort of cream is it?

Probably artificial.

[She shrugged.]

I don't think they use actual dairy in it.

...Well if you recommend it, I'll try the root beet.

Two root beers, then!

[Katara takes them off the shelf.]

Let's go drink them outside.

[Where the fresh air can help and maybe Asami will feel less trapped.

It's so easy not to deal with how this strangeness affects her when there's someone else to be concerned about.]

[Taking the bottle - sweet. She'll take that and smile, great .

Okay, outside is good. She nods and follows the other girl out there]

Alright.

[Instead of heading to the fountain, Katara just moves to lean against the store. She twists off the bottle cap.]

[Oh, she'll follow suit then, twisting off the cap as well. She just goes for a quick sip and- wow. That's not as expected at all, it's sweeter by far and doesn't have the lightly sour kick that ~~phosphate~~ soda has back home. She sort of likes it]

Wow. That's pretty different, but it's nice.

So about how far in my future are you from? [...] Or maybe a better way to ask would be: When did the war end?

["From the future" is still a bizarre thing to picture, and while she also finds herself taking some slight pride in it as well (evil or not, she's the daughter of an Indultrialist) the more academic phrasing of "when did the war end" is so much easier to grasp onto]
