the luceti test drive meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[The remark never comes; he bites his tongue when she speaks. And his mouth tastes bitter after she mentions Heisuke and Okita.

Souji and Heisuke. Both dead back in Japan, yet seemingly alive and kicking here, as their younger selves to boot.

Just, you know. Daily reminders of his own failure. Of how he could have done something, hell, everything differently.]

Yeah, I guess they are. [And so are you.

But he can't say that. Easy as it seemed it would be to protect her at first...he'd heard the talk already. There was a war here, too. Fitting that he should be taken, then, but her?

She's been through enough.

Looking up at her and attempting a small grin, he nods solemly.] Oh, don't look at me like that. You don't need to pay me any mind.

[His response sounds tired, not nearly as pleased by this fact as Chizuru felt he should have been. Though the reasons why, she imagined, were entirely different from what they were in truth.

Instead of worry, a warm smile cracks across her face, and she softly chuckles as she takes a tentative seat on the sofa's farthest edge to grant Hijikata some much-needed space.]

Have they been making trouble for you again?

[No, he hasn't told anyone what happened since he discovered he's years ahead of them. What would be the point in it? It doesnt mean anything here. Besides, if they ever wanted to know so badly, they'd ask, right?

He stares into the space straight ahead of him.] No more than they ever did. [And he shakes his head tiredly. He should probably sleep, but...]

[Chizuru stands from the sofa, letting out a sigh of resolve.] Then you're probably in need of some tea!

[She rests a hand on the sofa's armrest, glancing to Hijikata. The way he avoided her gaze--he didn't even glance at her.

She wanted to ask what troubled him, but if Hijikata wanted to share his thoughts, he would, wouldn't he? ~~Or take it out on the nearest inanimate object.~~] Maybe something to eat, as well?

[He gives a long sigh before fully realizing he's moping. Sure, nearly everything about Luceti angers him, but there's no need to bring her into it.

So he'll at least go through the motions of becoming the demon vice-commander again. Over tea. A common enough gesture for Hijikata, by now.]

Yeah. That will be fine. [Walls still firmly in place, he rises from the sofa and looks over at Chizuru neutrally.] I'll be in my room.

[He doesn't exactly have the paperwork excuse here, but there's that journal thing, anyway.]

[Everything? At least you weren't alone here, Hijikata. Not everyone had that luxury, it seems.

Not that Chizuru had even half a mind to bring that up, but the fact that he seemed even more sour than usual unsettled her.

His eyes were vacant as they looked to her. He could've been staring straight through her into the other room, for all that mattered. It sent a chill down Chizuru's back, and she had to suppress a shudder.] I will bring it to you there, then...[The last few words came out a quiet mumble.]
