Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN.
Eiko Carol | Final Fantasy IX
--Hey, is this on? Helloooooo?
[The video feed pops up, and you can see a young girl trying to fiddle around with the journal And for those listening, the voice coming out of the feed is very loud. Eiko doesn't really know that, though.]
Okay, I think I got it! Good. So, there's people listening inside this book right? Well, listening through the book, however you put it. Point is, you can hear me, right? Anyway, there's a few things I'm really curious about. A lot of you are from different worlds, right? Which means there's people who can use magic too. Right? I've got a few questions!
How many of you are summoners? Do you talk to eidolons? How do you talk to them? If you're summoners, then do you have horns too? ... Oh yeah! How come we can't talk to eidolons here, anyway? I mean, we can use magic, but we can't summon? Just who the heck came up with that rule?
[Yes, as you can see she's very curious. Eiko will be going on and on for a half minute, before finally slowing down.]
Anyway... tell me, please! It all sounds so different from back home and I really wanna know more.
[action]
[If for whatever reason you're on a grocery run today, you might run into Eiko browsing around! What is she doing? She is not-so-subtly eyeing all the types of fresh food availible, and her expression is bright enough to resemble that of a kid in a candy store. And the best part? They were all fresh! They were all free.
Back in Madain Sari, such things were a little hard to come by sometimes. Which often lead to Eiko making "food runs" to the next town over... except in this case, Mog and her had to nab them. Hey, they had to survive, okay. The point is, Eiko is very taken by this discovery. And she is hungry. Very hungry. Which means naturally the first thing Eiko's going to do is get a basket and start grabbing a bunch of breads, vegetables--whatever she can get her hands on! She could make a huge dinner tonight!]

[audio]
[Wait, wait waaait a second! That sounds like...!]
Dagger?
[audio]
Yes, it's me. I'm so glad to hear your voice, Eiko.
[audio]
[If smiles were audible, then there really isn't enough words to describe Eiko's right now. It really is Dagger's voice on the other end!]
Where are you? Are you okay?
[audio]
[audio]
[Wasn't it near the barracks or something? Well, with a means of quick transportation availible, it shouldn't be too far of a trip to the beach.]
Actually, I'll meet you there. Don't go anywhere just yet, okay?
[audio]
[action]
Maybe it's a little strange for a six-year-old to be wandering out by herself, but as far as Eiko's concerned she was almost like an adult anyway. She could take care of herself, whether it's here in Luceti or back home.
After she finds it and arrives on the beach, she'll be looking around until she spots Dagger. So of course, Eiko will quickly run up to her while trying to get her attention!]
Dagger! Heeeey!
[She might have interrupted whatever it is Dagger's doing, if she was doing anything, but Eiko isn't really concerned about that now. Cause the more important thing is that her friend is here!]
[action]
Looks like you found me.

[Action]
Vivi hangs onto the edge of the shelf and pulls himself up to peer over it.]
E-Eiko?!
[Action]
She'll look up... to meet a familiar face staring right back at her over the shelf. That's unexpected.]
Vivi?! What're you doing here?
[Action]
[Action]
What do you mean "a while"? I've been here a while and I've never seen you anywhere!
[Action]
I-I don't know why...I've been here, I promise...
[Okay so he looked for everyone over the journals for a while and then just assumed he was alone got caught up in exploring a town that wasn't just unafraid of him, but pretty damn welcoming...he's been busy?
He's totally not telling Eiko that. She'll hit him or something.]
[Action]
How come you didn't tell me sooner? I mean, I could have died out there all by myself!
[Okay, not really. Another exaggeration. Luceti isn't really that dangerous most of the time. BUT STILL. It's bad and you should feel bad, Vivi.]
[Action]
...just me.
[He knows it's not an excuse, but he totally didn't avoid her on purpose. Really, promise, from the bottom of his maybe-there heart.]
[Action]
... Eh, she'll just let it go. Her expression will relax a bit, and she doesn't look quite as miffed as she was a minute ago. It's not his fault, and she's okay anyway.]
Well, okay. I guess we just missed each other or something.
[Action]
Yeah.
[He looks down at her basket and wonders how she was planning on getting that across the village to wherever she was staying. It's kinda full.]
Um- so did you find somewhere to stay? I've been camping because I didn't even know there was a village here...
[It probably isn't much of an explanation, but it makes sense to Eiko. While she's only six, she can elaborate more if prompted. It just hasn't occured to her!]
So you've practiced summoning before? What kind of magic do you use besides that?
She is a little more humble, though, when talking about her own abilities.] Well, I... I'm... only just an apprentice witch... but I have thus far tried transformations, charms, potions, summoning... and of course, flying a broom. [A light chuckle at that - the latter attempt wasn't very successful.]
[action]
Like this place. So full of fresh food, the smell was definitely inviting, even to one who didn't necessarily have to eat to survive. He doesn't want to get in the way of course and so just stays to one side, watching as... this small girl helps herself to the goods. Is this how things work here? You take what you want?
It's then he notices the horn on her head. Perhaps she wasn't entirely human either...]
[action]
... Nope, can't lift it. Well, darn, Eiko's sure in a pickle here!]
Geez...! It's way too heavy! How am I going to lug this back now?
[action]
Well... maybe not. She still seems to be struggling and he seems to be the only one who has noticed thus far. But though some part of him wished to help the girl to carry the goods, he wasn't really supposed to interfere. He wasn't supposed to get too close either.
Hm, perhaps he can just give some advice. He approaches her now, a light breeze whirling around his feet.]
If you were to put some of it back, it would lessen the load. [He suggests, as if that wasn't obvious.]
