Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[ After living a whole life among people who look completely opposite to her, it feels strange to see someone who looks so much like her, and to hear that person still speak such familiar words. ]

Yes. I'm... one of the Clayr.

[ She hesitates to admit it, but it's probably a bad idea to keep things from someone who could possibly help her. Still, it stings. No mother, no father, no sight. ]

You are? I was supposed to meet with one of you before I came here.

[Sabriel's never seen one of the Clayr before but she is familiar with their usually appearance...although perhaps that didn't apply to every single member of the Clayr. Still, the dark hair and pale skin of the other woman is almost unsettling-ly familiar, the only other person she'd known to be so dark and pale was her father.

How curious. In any case Sabriel greets the woman with a small smile.]

Then we are well met. I am Abhorsen Sabriel.

[ Yes, hello, time for Lirael's brain to break a little. ]

Your... majesty?

[ One must say that the Queen is beyond well preserved. ]

[And here's where her own starts to clunk.]

...Pardon?

[ This should be fun. ]

Well... that is how you address your queen, isn't it?

[ Granted she's not very good with polite speech. Or speech in general. ]

I can only assume, but the Old Kingdom hasn't had a king or queen in two hundred years.

[...hang on a moment.]

...Are you from the past then? Time is funny in Luceti, it draws people from all points of time be it one person's past or another's future.

[But...huh, that still doesn't make sense, why had she called her 'Majesty?']

Oh! Well, King Touchstone is the first to sit on the throne for... well, two hundred years. He regained it after you... Well, after someone called Sabriel defeated one of the greater dead. Kerrigor.

[ Why doesn't she know this? Perhaps this Sabriel is the one who os from the past. Or maybe she's from the future, though it is disheartening to think that the kingdom will be without ruler once more. ]

[Ah hah, please don't mind while Sabriel stares at you in silence for a good moment or two. Thanks to Luke Skywalker, Sabriel had become aware that her endeavor to defeat Kerrigor would succeed but she didn't know anything about what would happen in the world after that.]

Touchstone reclaimed his throne? And I really...Kerrigor has been banished?

He's been gone for... something like nineteen years now.

[ So not from the past then. Or the future. This has to be Sabriel. Ergo, this... has to be her sister. Oh my. Lirael... isn't sure if she should mention that or not. ]

So...you are from the future then! The future relative to the time I'm drawn from at least.

[Kerrigor is gone, Touchstone is king...and...there is a queen too. A lot can happen in nineteen years, and Sabriel really shouldn't be looking into this so much but she can't help but ask, a faint blush colouring her cheeks.]

Am I...that is to say...in the time where you come from, there is a...a queen?

Yes. The Abhorsen is Queen.

[ That is to say, um, you. She thinks. Though she can't recall there being any stories about that time when the queen got abducted to a place where everyone got wings put on their backs. ]

[Oh goodness.]

Ah. That...hasn't happened yet in my time.

[Most certainly not but...wow, so she and Touchstone get married? ...She has to admit that the thought will be quite a comforting motivator when Luceti life gets tough. Yup, please don't mind the blush spreading across her face. Clearing her throat she changes topic, only able to handle so much news at once.]

I-I'm sorry but I don't think I caught your name, Miss.

[ It's kind of cute, really. ]

I'm Lirael. Ehm... Abhorsen-in-Waiting.

[ This is awkward. ]

[Abhorsen-in-Waiting. That was impossible, it had to be unless Lirael was Sabriel and Touchstone's daughter ~~oh lord what a thought~~ but she had said she was one of the Clayr. Perhaps...a distant cousin?]

I...didn't know any of the Abhorsen family survived save for my father and I...

Your father probably didn't know about me. He's... my father too. Apparently.

[ The idea hasn't quite sunken in yet. ]

[Now that's another wrench thrown into the machine of Sabriel's brain. Lirael looked to be the same age as Sabriel, but if the other woman is from nineteen years in the future that means...one year ago in Sabriel's time her father-. No. Stopping there, she does not need that thought on her conscience along with the rest of this information.]

I'm sorry.

[ She isn't entirely sure what she's apologizing for. Existing, maybe. It's only ever seemed to be a bother, really. ]

[A sister, a living relative...it's slow to sink in but when it does she's a flurry of questions. At least that explained why Lirael looked more like her father than the Clayr she'd heard about. With a soft shake of the head Sabriel brushes away the apology.]

The Clayr kept you safe...thank the Charter. If you are Abhorsen-in-Waiting does that mean we've met?

Not yet, so I suppose I'm not... exactly official? It's a little complicated.

[ To say the least, but if feels good to be sort of... accepted?

She worries about her mission, the thing being dug up near Red Lake, but if Sabriel is here and still managed to defeat Kerrigor in the end, maybe it'll be all right. It has to be. ]

As far as I can tell, nothing in our line of work is ever simple.

Would you...would you like to meet? In person? [They had so much to talk about.]

I... [ She'd love to, but she holds back a little on her eagerness. ] Yes. Yes, that would be... good.

Do you know where the fountain is? I can meet you there if you like.

I'm sure I could find it if you gave me directions.
