Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[there's the slightest of hesitations before he reaches out to accept the jacket...and even then, he runs his thumb over the fabric as if he was half expecting it to disappear or else prove to be nothing more than an illusion. But the material is as solid and sure as he could expect, and the jacket offers some modesty, however ill-fitting it was. He winced slightly as it lay a little too tightly over his newly acquired wings, but it was a small price to pay for the increased propriety.]

You and Hornblower. I suppose, in the midst of all else here, that finding the pair of you thick as thieves should be the least of my surprises.

[A wan smile. He waits, mostly from habit, for Pellew to make some indication as to what he's going to do next. What he's going to ask Archie to do.]

Well, Lieutenant? I don't intend to stand here all day, making a show of myself. There is a village, is there not? And a ship? Lead the way.

[it's not a request. It never is. And yet, for all that there's a snap to the words, they aren't unkind]

[A salute, and the smile strengthens.] Aye-aye, sir. This way.

[He'll take Pellew in the direction of the ship, since...the transporter, you know. Too much of a shock at this point. And he's pretty sure Bush has spare clothes on board, so.]

[he's not really in the mood for smiling...bewildered and stunned would be more accurate, really...but the relief of the familiar pattern Kennedy falls into draws a small one from him anyway. Nevermind that it's directed at the Lieutenant's back]

[Kennedy will sail the quarterboat to the anchored ship and make sure Pellew makes it aboard before he does. Little is said in the time between.]

We helped build her, and she's a magnificent lady once she sails. Not like the Indefatigable,, but...

[He shuts up. He always had the feeling Pellew hated it when he babbled.]

From navymen to ship builders...You have had quite a lot of time on your hands, haven't you?

[Always stern. Always brisk. Archie's view of Pellew's opinion wasn't all that different from Horatio's. Both saw his command before his affection...as it should be.]

More than we'd like, sir. [It's going to drive Horatio completely bonkers one of these days, and that won't be fun.] Come, I think Mr. Bush has clothes in his cabin.

Have they gone and absconded with the entire British navy?
