Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN.
Phil Coulson | MCU | Avengers
Does anyone know where I could get my hands on a taser?
[The tone is mild, but Phil is dead serious. Because really. If he catches Tony Stark invading his privacy one more time like the over grown child he is Phil is honestly going to hurt the man.
Hey, he's a SHIELD agent. He has the skills, even if he looks like a pencil pusher.]
I would appreciate any help in acquiring one.
[Scenario B]
[When Phil Coulson had started combing the various shops in Luceti, he did it more out of an idle hope that his taser would show up.
The very last thing he expected to find was his vintage, near mint, slightly foxed Captain America cards.
Beyond even his imagining was finding his vintage, near mint, slightly foxed Captain America cards covered in blood.
If Nick Fury, because who else would have done this, if he had been in Luceti at this moment, Phil would have hunted him down. And done horrible things to his boss because some things were sacred even in that line of work.
Instead all he can do is stare at them blankly sitting on a bench in his suit, even as he shuffled them together, spreads them out, shuffles them again and traces the slightly foxed edges of the cards. If his fingers shake slightly as they reach the blood well...]
B
Hey, you okay? You don't look well.
HOWARD. \o/
...Wait, he knows you. Recognizes you at any rate.]
...Mr. Stark? That is, Howard Stark, right?
[Who says being a huge Captain America fanboy doesn't pay off. Working for SHIELD helps.
Oh wait question.]
I'm... I wasn't expecting... I think someone bled on my cards.
[Phil doesn't want to look at the ruined cards, but the draw is horribly magnetic. He looks at the stained with blood cards. And pieces connect together. Damn Fury.]
I think it was me.
\o/ sorry for being sluggish btw
[He looks down at the cards and frowns. Blood. And this man's blood. That doesn't really bode well at all.]
That's a shame. They look like they're vintage as well. Maybe you can find some new ones here, with how the scientists work this place?
No prob
He was just clarifying, since he mainly know Tony.]
Vintage. Near-mint. Slightly Foxed.
[A part of Coulson doesn't want to find new cards here. He had looked a long time for most of them. It had been fun, frustrating, and something that was his.
Finding new ones here just wouldn't be the same.]
Maybe. Took me a long time to get them all though, originally. If they just appear here, well...
I am so sorry... B
He stops several feet from the bench, but close enough so when he speaks Coulson will hear him clearly. He's not dressed in his armor, but a nicely tailored suit to blend in a bit more easier and not drawn too much attention to himself. Just an illusion of course.]
Ah, what a shame.
[His words bear no sympathy to them, more taunting than anything.]
I'm not. *grins*
Coulson doesn't jump, doesn't startle, doesn't even breath for a moment which is so much more telling than any flinch.
But, strangely enough in this case he's not actually mad at Loki about the cards. After all, he had left them in his locker, and it really isn't Loki's fault they are covered in blood. Except for the, you know, stabbing him.]
Loki.
[Phil looks up at the impeccably dressed trickster god and gives him bland 'just-a-pencil-pusher-no-really' smile.]
I wish I could say it's nice to see you again, but I'd be lying.
[Coulson ignores the taunt and the false sympathy because Coulson is all about being the bigger man.... Mostly.]
Did you gain conviction?
no subject
He cants his head to the side, then looks down for a moment with a small laugh. When he looks back to Coulson he's grinning.]
It was never me who lacked conviction.
no subject
superheroscats. Loki's mind is a bag of cats. It was rather simple to throw the trickster off balance back on the Helicarrier.Coulson lets his lips quirk into a rather amused almost smile.]
Is that so?
[Phil's tone turns very dry]
I certainly hope that's not directed at me. After all, I think I died in battle.
[Still isn't 100% sure because it's SHIELD he works for. And the Director has a bad habit of lying. So does Phil.]
no subject
[He remembers Stark calling them that. It's almost charming. It's too bad, though. Were there different circumstances Phil could have probably been useful under mind control. Alas, Phil had to be used for something else.]
If you are not certain then I'm sure that could be changed.
[Even with the threat Loki's tone remains light, almost bored even.]
no subject
[Coulson can't quite argue with that, not as he knew them. But he also had faith they would get their act together. From what he heard, they had.]
As a team, maybe so. Individually though, I wouldn't say they lacked conviction.
[Coulson gives Loki a 'must-you-be-so-you' look.]
I'm afraid I'll have to decline. I think I can manage to live with the uncertainty. Since I'm alive here.

What parts are needed?
no subject
[Artemis scrawls some rough schematics over the guide and forwards them to Coulson and a list of parts needed.]
However I wouldn't recommend building it yourself unless you're experienced enough at working electrical currents that you won't accidentally kill someone.
no subject
[Civilian? Well isn't that interesting phrasing. Phil looks over the list he receives. He could find these things with little difficulty. Somehow.]
Or shock myself. Hm. It isn't a skill I have.
[He could ask Tony. That would be... interesting. But...
Are you experienced?
[So what if the other person is a kid/youth/younger than Coulson. Looks can be deceiving.]
no subject
[He's built compact super computers, a taser is nothing. But he isn't about to brag to a total stranger.]
However, I don't work for free.
no subject
[More and more interesting.]
The best rarely do.
[The good might work for free, but the best... it's a line they tread.]
So, What do you want?
no subject
[Because there is a line between proper compensation and exploitation and Artemis tries to skirt it and be better than he was in the past.]
If that seems a fair transaction, then we can be in business.
no subject
[Phil doesn't answer right away, running over what he has learned of Luceti and his own private thoughts about the young man.
He's been an agent of SHIELD to long and seen too many things to go in blindly.]
I have a term for the favor. It is non-negotiable. No harm to what I consider civilians. That's all. If it's good with you?
no subject
My interests don't lie in harming innocents, I assure you.
[At least, not since he was 12 years old and decided kidnapping was a good idea. He's learned his lesson.]
Since we have this agreement, it would be prudent to introduce myself. I'm Artemis Fowl.
[He watches for any reactions to the name. His family has an active Interpol file, and this man's demeanor marks him as law enforcement in some capacity.]
no subject
Noting personal. Better safe than sorry is a motto I live with.
[Coulson gives no reaction to Artemis Fowl's name. Of course, even if he did recognize it, he wouldn't of reacted.]
Good to meet you. I am Phil Coulson.
[Because he really isn't an Agent of SHIELD at the moment, and introducing himself like that seems... superfluous.]
no subject
[Oh irony.]
Now, Mr. Coulson. What sort of technical specifications do you have for your taser? Beyond being capable of reducing someone to a drooling mess on the carpet?
no subject
[There is something really wry in Coulson's tone.]
Adjustable volt settings would be nice, up to fatal. I prefer a hand held taser instead of the gun versions. Other than that... I'll trust you're judgment.
no subject
Understood, Mr. Coulson. I'll contact you when I have a prototype constructed for you to test.
no subject
[Hopefully after learning more about the young man by then.]
