fiddlerinthestreet: ([action] fiddle playing)

[He hasn't been here very long. Not in comparison to Jilly and some of her friends. But every day without his fiddle has felt like a lifetime. Geordie can barely remember a day that's gone by where that fiddle of his hadn't accompanied him on a journey.

It's not being so far from Newford that matters. Not even being so far from his brother and his friends. It's the lack of a fiddle - his fiddle - that felt as if it would slowly drive him mad.

On Jilly's advice, he had taken to haunting the items shop. And today, of all days, it's finally paid off. It might not be his and the thing might be old and the strings not properly tuned, but it's still a fiddle.

For the rest of the day, you can find him by the fountain, playing the fiddle without a care in the world. Eventually, a tune can be heard through the journal.]

I'm taking requests, if anybody has any.

I'm guessing that Macho Man doesn't really translate well to the violin. Fiddle?

Fiddle.

Bartending. Ice skating. Apparently taco-making, but that's only from one reviewer. And I think his tastebuds might be addled from rum.
keepsmehonest: ([happy] peering at the world)

[personal profile] keepsmehonest 2012-08-20 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, those are definitely some important skills to have. Especially the taco-making. I've never been exactly what you call even a decent cook.

Friendship only goes so far.

[There's absolutely nothing that he wouldn't do for Jilly. She's his best friend, the person he cares for most in this world. And any other. But...]

You've never had my cooking.

[She'd sought him out for breakfast, but she'd gone to her studio while he made his daily round of the item shops. Her mood had been infectiously cheery since his arrival, and it was evident in her work on the canvas. The shapes hadn't taken any firm definition, yet, but the colors practically glowed, bright and vivid.

She had her journal open on the table near her, like she usually did while working, but the usual murmur was just background noise as she worked...until that very familiar music poured from the pages. She knew that playing.

Laughing, she whirled away from the easel to pick up the journal]

You found it?!
theoniongirl: (You know you love to laugh.)

I'm sure they won't mind you borrowing it for awhile. [especially playing like that]

Where are you?

[never mind that she'd been fully entranced by her painting. The music was enough to call her away]
theoniongirl: (Light up the room with a smile)

It's the perfect place.

[it should have made her homesick...everything about it was like Newford. Geordie on the fiddle, in a park or a city square, busking while she joined him to draw or people watch or even dance. But it wasn't Newford she'd missed (at least, not as intensely). It was him, and he was here.]

I can't miss this.

[it would take her a few minutes to properly pack up her paints, but she knew she'd be there long before he was tired of playing]
theoniongirl: (You're Funny)

[voice -> action]

[personal profile] theoniongirl 2012-08-17 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Then you'll just have to learn a few new ones, Geordie, me lad.

[despite the delay, the paint under her fingernails wouldn't even have dried completely by the time she reached the fountain, with a skip in her step and her sketchbook tucked under one arm.]
theoniongirl: (Jump)

[action]

[personal profile] theoniongirl 2012-08-17 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[she wouldn't want it any other way.

She can't help it. Even there, alone in the middle of the street, she has to do a few merry spins to the music before she actually sits nearby...and even then, her fingers are tapping along the cover of her sketchbook. Drawing would come with the next song. For now, there's only listening]

[personal profile] keepsmehonest 2012-08-26 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)

Are there other musicians here?

[It's been a while since she's heard a violin]
