[He hasn't been here very long. Not in comparison to Jilly and some of her friends. But every day without his fiddle has felt like a lifetime. Geordie can barely remember a day that's gone by where that fiddle of his hadn't accompanied him on a journey.
It's not being so far from Newford that matters. Not even being so far from his brother and his friends. It's the lack of a fiddle - his fiddle - that felt as if it would slowly drive him mad.
On Jilly's advice, he had taken to haunting the items shop. And today, of all days, it's finally paid off. It might not be his and the thing might be old and the strings not properly tuned, but it's still a fiddle.
For the rest of the day, you can find him by the fountain, playing the fiddle without a care in the world. Eventually, a tune can be heard through the journal.]
I'm taking requests, if anybody has any.

Fiddle.

[He chuckles a little.] Maybe I should revise my statement. Requests for any tunes I might actually know. Or can be easily taught.

Oh. No. I don't think so. I mean -- publicly? Over these things? Nuh-uh.

You've never had my cooking.

She had her journal open on the table near her, like she usually did while working, but the usual murmur was just background noise as she worked...until that very familiar music poured from the pages. She knew that playing.
Laughing, she whirled away from the easel to pick up the journal]
You found it?!

[voice]
Where are you?
[never mind that she'd been fully entranced by her painting. The music was enough to call her away]

[it should have made her homesick...everything about it was like Newford. Geordie on the fiddle, in a park or a city square, busking while she joined him to draw or people watch or even dance. But it wasn't Newford she'd missed (at least, not as intensely). It was him, and he was here.]
I can't miss this.
[it would take her a few minutes to properly pack up her paints, but she knew she'd be there long before he was tired of playing]
[voice]
Better hurry over then. I might run out of tunes.
[voice -> action]
[despite the delay, the paint under her fingernails wouldn't even have dried completely by the time she reached the fountain, with a skip in her step and her sketchbook tucked under one arm.]
[action]
Not until the music's done.]
[action]
She can't help it. Even there, alone in the middle of the street, she has to do a few merry spins to the music before she actually sits nearby...and even then, her fingers are tapping along the cover of her sketchbook. Drawing would come with the next song. For now, there's only listening]
[action]
It needs a bit of tuning again anyway.]
Good to see being here hasn't hampered your dancing.

Are there other musicians here?

Do you know Bink's Sake? [She doubts it, somehow, but it doesn't hurt to ask]

Can't say that I do.

[And with that, he begins to play]
