oh god, major voice test. halp ;A;
[She's been in the village for a day. A day was more than enough time to collect intelligence and realize that no, this was not America and yes, she was possibly going completely insane. Agent Carter had seen a lot of impossible things during the war and dealt with them with as much grace as possible, but little could prepare her for wings, her old uniform, and an entire wireless network with almost no security whatsoever.
Who in their right mind would keep all their information just lying about like this? Then again, the war is over, SSR is disbanded, and Hydra is gone. What is there to worry about? Other than everything else that's wrong with the bloody world.
She hasn't heard of anyone from home yet, but she knows there has to be someone. Right? Best to put a small lure out and see what it brings.]
Agent Carter reporting in. I don't suppose anyone here has heard of the British Royal Military? Unlikely considering where I am, but it never hurts to ask.
Player Name: Kaze
Are you new?: N
Character Name: Agent Carter - if you're nice, you'll learn the rest
Character Fandom: Captain America: The First Avenger (MCU)

You wouldn't be Agent Peggy Carter, would you?
[voice]
That would depend upon who is asking.
Re: [voice]
You don't know me, but my name is Pepper Potts, and I'm a friend of Steve Rogers. Also of Bucky Barnes, and Howard Stark.
[It feels a little like giving references on a resume.]
Re: [voice]
Steve.
Steve.
That is a name she hasn't heard in awhile. Not since she closed the file on him. Chin up, Carter. This woman might have been a friend before he went to war. Although, Stark? That's odd.]
I see. My condolences then.

When it clicks though... wow. That's quite a time gap. Makes his look like nothing.]
Agent Carter. My name is Clint Barton. I work with Steve Rogers.
...
Twice now someone has mentioned his name. Twice in the span of a few minutes when it seems like forever since she last heard it, or wanted to hear it.]
You mean worked. A pleasure, Mr. Barton, and you have my condolences as well.
He sighs and sits back, deciding best how to proceed.]
Ma'am, there are a few things I'm going to tell you that are really highly classified. And a few that are just plain weird.
First is... Steve Rogers is here, alive and well. Luceti has a habit of throwing you for a loop.
Second... he didn't die. The super soldier serum worked better than anyone could have imagined. It kept him alive when he crashed the plane.
[His life has turned into a science fiction movie and at the moment he kind of wants to get off.]

Oh c'mon! You're in a brand new world. Is that really the first thing you're going to ask?
screeeee
Stark. I see you're here as well.
Gaining one's bearings is important, don't you think?

What is the assessment of the area?

demanding assessments...
was it another of those brain-aching time problems? sharpe resists the temptation to frown and falls back into his brusque officer's voice -- though it's somewhat dampened by the thick rough yorkshire accent. ]
It's a prisoner situation, Miss Carter. Many people -- not all of'em military and certainly not all of them British -- are being held 'gainst their will. Some for years. There's little organization to us within the barrier and no hope for organizing'em further, I'm afraid to say.
Many don't take kindly to being given orders.

Bucky just stares at this for a minute, and then there's a small grin on his face. It's good to see another familiar face, and Steve is gonna be over the moon when he hears about this.]

Welcome to Luceti, Agent Carter. You're not in Kansas anymore. I think plenty of us have heard of the British Royal Military--and you, specifically. You should feel special.
[FEEL SPECIAL PEGGY.]
voice;
Well, she can guess who this must be.]
Witty. I'm guessing you're Tony Stark.

Guilty as charged. It's the undeniable charm, isn't it?

And it's just too much. He takes some time to recover and regain his bearing. But he can't seem to close the journal and walk away. Instead he just listens in to every conversation, a majority of the voices very familiar. Some tell her about him. Good. Maybe it won't be so hard for her to take if she has fair warning.
Finally, once the conversations wind down and he's calm enough to think about her without...thinking back, he replies. His voice is calm but there's a touch of uncertainty in his expression. He's not sure if she really wants to speak him at all. She has a right to be angry after all.]
Hello Peggy.
video
It's his voice on the line now and it's just like that day, but...clearer. Advances in technology and the journals themselves even give her a glimpse of him. She won't answer right away, let him think she just hasn't seen it yet, but really, she's staring at the screen and trying to gather herself for talking to him again.
She thought he'd gone MIA once before, but that last time, she'd known there was no coming back.
She'd known and still given him a deadline.
A deadline he missed for reasons she couldn't be angry over.
But it was still a deadline.
After gathering herself, she hits the reply function and keeps her emotions in check as much as she can as she says:]
You're late.
video
Even so he couldn't keep a small, hesitant smile from spreading across his face even as his heart clenched.]
Yeah, I know.
...I still haven't learned yet. To dance I mean. I guess a part of me is still hoping you would teach me. [It's as close to an apology he can get. He doesn't regret his actions. His only regret is that he hurt her.]
