Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Let's just say it's that time of the year.

[That, and as the proprietor of the Item Shop, Rogue knows pretty much everyone in the village by face, if not by name. She never was ace at introducing herself.]

Guessin' you got the speech already.

Ahh. Yeah, I suppose that might be a good hint. [Darcy laughs, sitting up and crossing her legs in front of her as she waves her journal in answer.] Yeah, I got the manual. And some first-hand info, here and there. Enough to get the gist, I think. I take it you've been here a while?

Gettin' longer every day. [Don't scare the newbies, Rogue.] It's been about two years now.

[...she's not that good at not scaring the newbies.]

[Darcy gives a low whistle, looking impressed.] Damn. I don't know whether to offer congrats or condolences.

[She gets to her feet then, tucking her journal away in her back pocket before holding her hand out to the other girl with an easy grin.] I'm Darcy.

Ain't it always the way.

[Rogue took Darcy's hand in her gloved one for a brief, firm shake.]

Rogue. Welcome ta Luceti.

I'll take your word for it. I don't think I've been here long enough to say that yet. [It's a rueful admission as she shakes Rogue's hand in greeting, then lets her hands fall comfortably to prop on her hips.] And thanks. It's... not as bad as it could be, to be honest. Hell, this is practically a vacation to some places we coulda ended up, right? [At least that's what she'd keep telling herself, to keep things from seeming too dismal. And hey, she had Jane here. And superheroes. Not all that different from home after all.

Oh. Well, except for the wings, of course. That was still disconcerting.]

Great. [She said it sarcastically, but she was smiling, just a little, her green eyes warm.] Just what this place needed. Another optimist.

[She laughs, blue eyes glinting with amusement.] Too much? Next time I'll try to more appropriately dour and depressing. I'm sure I can find plenty of things to complain about, if that'll make you feel better. Like why the hell isn't there a damn Starbucks here?

I'm guessin' cause they knew we couldn't afford their overpriced lattes on no money an' decided to go for an inter-dimensional prison with a bigger profit margin?

[Darcy jabs a finger in the air, struck by an idea] But they wouldn't be overpriced here, right? Inter-dimensional prisons. Pfft. Cheapskates.

Unless they decided ta make it some new form of torture - sure, we'll give you the coffee, but first ya hafta find a way to use some nonexistent money.

[On the subject of coffee, Rogue was something of an addict.]

Anyway, the Item Shop gets grinders in sometimes, an' we get full beans in the grocery store.

[Darcy's expression brightens at this.] Does it? I haven't actually gotten in the items shop yet, but now I might have to. I saw there was a tea shop somewhere, but I didn't know if they had anything other than tea, and that... it's just not the same. [She wrinkles her nose, because sadly, her morning addiction was something she'd been missing the most.]

It sure ain't. [Rogue really couldn't agree more.] But yeah - the Good Spirits, the Seventh Heaven... they all serve it if wherever you're stayin' doesn't have the gear yet.

[This totally makes Darcy's entire day. Maybe even week.] Oh, thank god. I was starting to go through withdrawal.

[Darcy's grin is friendly as she relaxes a little bit more, hands tucked into her pockets.] So what do you do around here for fun?

Not much.

[The answer is truthful, but also typical of Rogue's reticence. She's not really into sharing personal things with strangers.]

This place is kind of a drag.

I suppose after two years of the same things every day, it would start to get a little redundant. [She grimaces, making a face at the thought. And she'd thought New Mexico had been bad.] Do you have people here at least?

[Cautious, slow:] What do ya mean?

From wherever you're from, I meant. [Darcy's quick to explain, a hand waved absently in the air, until she realized that that was probably rude or too personal or maybe just a touchy topic, considering the reaction it got her.]

I just meant, I thought that might make things easier. If there were familiar faces, at least. Although I suppose that wouldn;t always be a good thing, for some.

[It's so not Darcy's fault that for a mutant, the association of 'having people' is one which might involve bricks being thrown at your face. Some associations are hard to shake, even after two years in Wingsville.]

Oh - yeah. There are a few folks from my world here. They come an' go.

[She tucks a strand of hair behind an ear.]

You?

Do people do that a lot here? Come and go, I mean? [It's something she's heard but hadn't had a chance to ask about. And she still wasn't sure if that happening was a good thing, or very very bad.]

And yeah, actually. My, uh, boss, I guess you could say. She's here. There are some others I knew of, at least. Familiar faces. [Because you really did have to live under a rock to not know who Tony Stark and Captain America were. Even before the attack on New York.]

Yeah. They do that a lot. [It's said with a certain amount of weight. It does happen. A lot.]

An' that's good ta hear. I mean, it is if your boss ain't a dragon lady or a total jackass.

[Darcy accepts that with a serious look and a slight inclination of her head, because yeah, that's a weighty thing any way you look at it. She laughs at the comparisons to her boss, though.]

No, she's more the brilliant genius type who forgets some of the more mundane daily details around her. Like how old the coffee is in the coffeepot or where she left her keys last. But she's pretty awesome. Not that she can't be a dragon lady when the situation calls for it, it's just usually not aimed at me.

[Rogue's eyebrows arch slightly.]

Well, glad ta hear it. It'd be a shame if you were stuck here with the only person ya knew bein' someone you didn't like.
