Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Realizing she's been caught staring, Darcy looks a little sheepish as she straightens, giving the woman an apologetic look.] Sorry about that. I didn't meant to stare. You just... [She pauses, waving a hand in the air for affect.] You can fly.

[Oh! The thing about Luceti is that it's getting her to be almost lax in the use of her powers. It's easy to forget that flying will still surprise most people.]

I can, yes. But it's all right, no need to apologize at all. [Ororo smiles.] The fault is mine; I should be more cautious in the use of my powers.

Dude, really? Why? [Darcy's voice is one of amazed fascination.] That's amazing, there's no fault. I've just never seen anyone do that before without, like, a rocket pack or something.

[Ororo chuckles.]

Where I come from, there aren't very many people who will react with half as much enthusiasm as you do to seeing such things.

Yeah, well, maybe not where I come from, either, but I've seen some pretty crazy shit over the past couple of years. Flying? Absolutely one of the cooler things. [Darcy grins, pushing herself up on her feet.] I'm Darcy.

[Ororo smiles back, nodding in acknowledgement.] And I am Ororo. A pleasure to meet you, Darcy. I'm glad you appreciate what I can do so much. [Such a breath of fresh air from all the mutant hate she's accustomed to getting, back home.]

I take it you are new here?

Total newb. [It's said with a wry honesty and a matching smile.] And I'm sorry people are douches, wherever you come from. What you can do is pretty cool in my book. I'm guessing that means it's not a typical thing, wherever you're from?

It's not particularly commonplace, no. I've not met anyone with abilities similar to mine, but there are quite a handful of us who can do extraordinary things, you could say.

Sadly, most people fear what they do not understand. [She gives Darcy a grateful smile, implication clear in her voice.]

[Darcy rolls her eyes, although she understands all too well.] If I was afraid of everything I didn't understand, I wouldn't have time for much else. I'd just stay in bed all day. Not that that sounds all that bad, on second thought, but not for those reasons. [She wrinkles her nose as she rambles, thinking.]

Then again, I have the questionable luck of being surrounded a lot by people way smarter than me, who forget to talk in normal-people English half the time. But they're mostly extra-ordinary, too, so I can sorta understand what you mean.

[She'd seen all the footage after the attack on New York, after all. She and Jane had been glued to the television and the internet, watching the live footage from Norway with a sort of numb horror. She'd heard the mixed reactions from the people who'd survived the attack, their conflicting opinions on the heroes who'd saved them. Personally Darcy thought the negative ones were idiots. Yes, parts of the city had been damaged in the fight, but did they think that wouldn't have happened anyway if no one had stood up and stopped the aliens? Talk about gratitude.]

[That has Ororo chuckling a bit.]

"Normal" English, you say? You do not happen to be friends with scientists, do you? [She's heard how some of the students talk about Hank when he gets excited.]

But that is good to hear, in any case. It's good to know that there are people who understand. [That gives her hope to keep fighting for the Dream, anyway.]
