Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

Are you some sort of gorgon, or have you a bizarre skin condition?

[He feels himself shrinking and trying to see if the hood can go even further over his head. A gorgon - that's a new one.]

Does it matter? You can think of me what you like.

I'm immune to gorgons and I doubt your bizarre skin condition is stranger than any I have encountered. [Loki shrugs.] So long it is that and not my breath.

[misterfuzzy]

[The way he says all of this offhandedly is... really weird.]

I trust you take good care of your dental hygiene, but that wouldn't bother me. Are you... not afraid? Or are you just going to be picking on me?

[complicatedliar]

Have I reason to be afraid? [He smiles crookedly.] Ah, do not take me for a common mortal.

[misterfuzzy]

Mortal? I'm sorry, you look pretty mortal to me. Does that mean... Are you... I'm sorry if this is rude, but are you a mutant?

[complicatedliar]

I'm a god. Originally from Asgard. [He throws in an ironic bow for good measure.] And what does that make you?

[misterfuzzy]

No way. A god? Like the Norse myths? With the Valhalla and everything? S-sorry. It's just... a lot to take in. But I'm... I'm a mutant.

[complicatedliar]

[Smirk.] My name is Loki.

[misterfuzzy]

Loki? The... the trickster?

[complicatedliar]

The very one. Though I would caution you to take the mythology with a grain of salt. Some of it is quite puerile.

[misterfuzzy]

I can't remember most of it anyway. But you're definitely one of the last people I expected to meet somewhere like this.

[complicatedliar]

We're an eclectic little collection, no doubt. [His tone is exceedingly dry.] You aren't the only mutant about, you realize. I haven't seen anyone take issue with the others yet.

[misterfuzzy]

Really? But that's impossible.

[complicatedliar]

[Loki raises an eyebrow.]

Hm. How was it put to me upon my arrival? Ah yes. You are not in Kansas any more. Is that not the mortal phrase?

[misterfuzzy]

Yes. I get that reference. The Wizard of Oz! Did you see it too?

[complicatedliar]

I haven't. I've heard the mortals about here using it.

[misterfuzzy]

You should watch it sometime! It's really good. That is, uh, if a good like yourself enjoys films.

[complicatedliar]

I haven't really watched any. I prefer books, in general.

[misterfuzzy]

They do say the books are better than the movies. But you can't say that until you've tried both!

I haven't tried any movies at all, so the temptation to remain blissfully unaware is quite high. However, I am rather curious by nature...

You know what they say - it's curiosity kills the cat! But being a god and all, that might not be a problem.

[He doesn't know why he's talking to a god so casually. But maybe it helps to know how easily he can teleport if things go south.]
