Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Okay, random octopus on the side of the road, what the hell. That's definitely not something you see everyday.]

What the hell is that?

[Hermes makes an amused burbling noise. Ah, humans.] Get that a lot. [He raises the tentacle higher, trying to get the man to coem closer to him.] Need ride to grocery. Give? Can trade goods, services, but require food.

[junesprince]

You need a ride? [Yosuke blinks at that. Well. There's a first time for everything?!] ...wait, how'd you get out here in the first place?

[eightlazylegs]

[Hermes points back down the road with another of his tentacles. His color ripples into dull purple, clashing with his green wings.] House that way. No food, walked here. Hard to walk far. Give ride? Am not big, or heavy. Easy to carry.

[junesprince]

[Well. Sure, it's weird, but if he were an octopus, he'd probably appreciate the help, too, right?

...wait, what a weird thing to think about! He shrugs and walks the rest of the way over.]

Sure, I guess I can give you a ride. There's no need to pay me or anything.

[eightlazylegs]

Good. [Hermes stretches out several more tentacles, asking to be picked up. As long as he can get a good grip on the man he's fine, the tentacles practically run themselves. ] Will also require walk home, cannot carry cans.

[junesprince]

[So like, is he supposed to just... grab his tentacles or WOW THIS IS WEIRD. Yosuke looks at the outstretched tentacles with uncertainty for a moment before he finally grabs them.]

S-sure, no problem, dude.

[Hermes latches on and immediately begins crawling upwards towards his head. His tentacles are strong for their size, he could leave bruises if he felt like it, but all he wants to do is not fall off. When he's safely on the human's shoulder Hermes prods his ear.]

Secure. Go now. [On with you.]

[OH GOD WHAT HAS HE GOTTEN HIMSELF INTO IT'S CRAWLING ALL OVER HI— oh. He's just making himself comfortable on his shoulder. Good. Feeling somewhat relieved, he starts the journey to the grocery store.

...but man, what a sight he must be.]

So, uh... you got a name?

Hermes. Yours? [His suction cups rest around the human's neck and he casts his gaze upwards. Being out under an open sky is so weird.]

[junesprince]

Hermes? That's a pretty fancy name for an octopus. [...not that he knows what kind of names they usually tend to have. Oh well, it's better than Octopus-kun.] I'm Yosuke. It's, uh, nice to meet you, Hermes.

[eightlazylegs]

Name from Boss. Did not pick. [A tentacle flicks out, trying in vain to grab a passing dragonfly. He wants to see if they're edible. Hermes' skin color ripples and changes to match Yosuke's shirt.] From here?

[junesprince]

[Yosuke can't help but watch as the tentacle reaches out and even changes colors. It's really strange to see up close!]

Am I from here, you mean? No, I was brought here, just like everyone else.

Same. From Chicago. [The tentacle loops back around his neck again, suckers grasping gently at his skin. He could leave welts, if he wasn't feeling charitable, but he knows enough to understand that might not get him rides in the future.] How got here?
