[Ruby is trying out a new look. No red today, except the streaks in her hair. Hey, while the Grandmother's away, the wolf will play. It's a new moon, so she's safe to do what she wants anyhow. Instead, she's wearing an all-white waitressing uniform that better befits those slutty versions of costumes they have for Halloween. You might be wondering isn't she cold? And the answer is yes, probably.]

Another slice of pie, sweetie?

[That may not have even been your order. Oops. It seems the waitress might be a little distracted. Either way, it's a slow day, and in between freshening coffees, all this waitress wants to do is hear all about your life.]

Did you really travel that far? That must have been really incredible! I can't believe you got to see all those wonderful places!

[Um. No. Okay. What? GIVE HER A MOMENT. Because it doesn't matter how abnormal Luceti is, there are some things that are going to startle everyone. Which is why Ruby instantly points to the hands and panics a little.]

Whoa whoa, is this what they mean about "shifts?!" AH WHAT IS THAT? WHAT'S DOING THAT?

[Sorry Robin, magic comes with a price, and that is some freaky stuff.]

[That's all the answer she's going to get. Though honestly it's been a while since someone was so freaked out.]

Shall I make you some coffee as well?

What do you mean yours? You shouldn't just waste magic like that. Aren't you worried about the cost? It could run out...

It's not magic as such. [She proceeds to make two coffees] It's more like...an ability. A chemical change in the body perhaps. The exact science isn't known [~~yet. Goddamnit Oda! Stop being such a tease!~~] But it's not something that will run out.

There's... science to it?

[A small pause, but now she's just extremely curious again.] That's fascinating! Wait... you're not... mobilizing raw flesh are you? Like zombies? [Looking a little grossed out again... because... ew.]

Not raw. Just my own. [A flurry of hands pass the coffee down. and burst into a shower of petals]

Though I am sure I'd make an interesting zombie. [she smirks] Few would be able to escape me.

[That... gets an uncertain grin.]

Y-yeah, I guess so, huh? That must be pretty -- [God no, she refuses to call it "handy"] convenient though, huh? What kind of other things can you do with it?

[That's probably way personal... she'll back off as it occurs to her that Robin could in fact actually be shy about such a thing, despite being not-shy-enough to show it off.]

Anything I want. [Though she doesn't show off, even though she could.] What can you do?

[Another small uncertain laugh.]

Not much. That's why I waitress~ [Self-deprecating grin.]

I'm good at finding things though. [Taps her nose slyly.] Keen sense of smell. [Another grin.] Not that it's saying much.

Oh? Do you track by scent? [Waitress has nothing to do with talent. She wonders why so many people seem to think so]

Mm-hm! And kind of instinct. It's a knack I've got. [Small shrug, she clearly doesn't consider it much, and certainly not as impressive as multiple arms.]

Instinct? [She thinks about this a moment] That's unusual for a human.

[Softer grin, more reflective now.] Is it? Guess I got lucky then~

[Lucky... ahahah... right.]

Is that so? [Lucky or something else? Hmm.] What is your land like?

[That gets an impish grin.]

[Don't worry, she'll explain.] I come from two, actually. One with magic, one without. Well, it didn't use to have magic anyway, now it kind of does, but that's a whole other headache.

It sounds much like here. A combination of different lands. [Though, of course, it's a little more complex than that]

Ah... you think so?

[Sort of leans her chin into an open hand.] Kind of, I guess. If both worlds were more combined maybe.

[Small grin again.] We were even locked in in the last world actually.

That's not even the half of it, babe.

[Jack Horner popped another piece of pie in his mouth, feeling no guilt at all over the fact it wasn't supposed to go to him. He grinned.]

That's just where I've been on Earth.

Seriously? You've been to other worlds too! That's so lucky! Where else have you been?

[So long pie. Ruby is far too enraptured with this conversation to remotely pay attention to her job.]

Ever heard of a little place called Camelot?

You've been there? [Eyes sparkle in interest, though she leans a little closer with a flirty grin.] Somehow you don't strike me as a typical knight though~ [Trust her, that's a big compliment.]

There's nothing typical about me, doll. But I was knighted and everything. Sir Jack Horner. When you save a kingdom from a few giants, they tend to want to do what they can to keep you around. And hell. The food wasn't bad.

[Feeling particularly satisfied here. It's hard to find an interested audience.]

Giants?! You fought giants, really? More than one even? That's incredible!

[Laughs a little.] What kind of food was it~?

I lost count how many I killed. I was unbelievably cool back then. Not that I'm not now. But there wasn't a person who didn't know about Jack the Giant Killer.

[This is why he loves Luceti. No stupid rule about Fables. He can brag to his heart's content about his heroic exploits.]

As for the food? Boar. Lots of boar. It was pretty awful, compared to this pie.

[Laughs, almost a little breathless with rapt attention.] Wow. So you had to go up a beanstalk and everything?

[Beams!] Would you like me to get you some more pie then? It's no boar, but like you said, it's better~
