Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[ light, girlish laughter comes from somewhere behind the man with the frying pan. ]

Do for what? A balanced breakfast? Anything you try to hit with that will have to get far too close for it to be effective.

[He turns to her and raises an eyebrow. If there's something funnier than a man getting a frying pan in a weapon store, it's a woman being in a weapon store at all. But he smirks in his least condescending way he can.]

Clearly you haven't seen one of these in action.

[ she had been busy over by the knives, but this curious display of weaponry improvisation draws all of her attention. ]

Until you've been on the receiving ends of one of these things, they're admittedly hard to appreciate.

[On second thought, maybe it's easier to appreciate when you're the one using it. Either way, he became a far more competent combatant than he ever had been before while using this frying pan.]

...Oh, I do so hope that was not a threat. [ but her voice remains kindly enough to suggest she certainly hadn't taken it as such. just a friendly jest between still-strangers. after all, claire's happy just to be around people who walk and talk and live like humans ought to live. ]

Threat? No no, I wasn't threatening you. Just pointing out the potential applications of-- [Well, that's going well. He turns on the smoulder instead.]</small Hey there. Flynn Rider.

[ the corners of her mouth twitch into a wider smile. and -- friendly enough -- she holds out a hand. oh, how she misses her fingerless gloves. ]

Claire. Claire Redfield.

[smouldered]

[He pauses for a moment, then accepts the hand.]

I like the dress.

"You do, do you? I hear it's all the rage in this part of town."

Her shoulders shrug. Did she feel a little self-concious? Certainly. Claire was rarely one for dresses or skirts. Kinda got in the way of the whole biker chick image she'd cultivated so carefully in college. "I hear there's a clothing shop? I don't know -- weapons came first on the grand list of priorities."

[smouldered]

Okay, that was just a little strange, really. Weapons before clothes?

"You get mugged a lot where you come from?"

"...Something like that. When it comes to procuring things on site, there aren't many things that trump a decent knife."

And most of the things that did? Were gun shaped. However, she was disappointed in what few specimens she could find here and in the other shop. The selection must have already been rather picked over.

[smouldered]

"Well you'll have to find your own frying pan. It's the only one here. I looked."

[otype]

"...And here dieth chivalry."

Not that she was chivalry's greatest fan. "I think I'll live without the pan, thank you very much. I'm just not that hungry."

[smouldered]

"Fine. Doubt all you want. You'll come around."

He tucked the pan, somewhat awkwardly, into his belt.

"You do actually only use it for combat, right? Because anything else would just be...unsanitary."

Even as she delivered this critique, she moved out of his way. After all, he looked just about ready to leave.

[smouldered]

"Sanitation is overrated. Besides, there's nothing a little rinse in the stream can't clean out."

He was, in a sense, moving on. But only because he realized perhaps a knife of some sort wouldn't go amiss.

"...You should really invest in some soap. Cleanliness is next to godliness."

Weapons advice. And now washing advice. All for free! But it was hard not to speak up, being someone who dealt with the aftermath of B.O.W. incidents for a living. Sanitation could often make the difference between living or dying. Or worse.

[smouldered]

"I'll put it on my list. At least while things are still free at the general store, anyway."

First the weapon shop, then the grocery. Before long, Flynn would be stealing from everywhere. Sort of like now, where he was inspecting the lock on one of the displays. Those were some really nice knives back there.

Curious -- and possessing her own vested interest in locks -- she watched not just him but him and the display.

"Is that likely to chance any time soon?"

[smouldered]

"I've not been here much longer than you, Red. I couldn't tell you."

How he wished she'd look elsewhere. He couldn't pick a lock while she was watching.

chance. change. sigh.

"Because I got the impression that free was the norm around here..."
