Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[He gets to the door and opens it, again offering to let her go in first]

Sorry about the stairs. This building hasn't been upgraded just yet.

It's fine. I'm fit! [She steps inside the building, eying the staircase.] Which floor do you live on?

Sixth floor. I liked the view.

[He heads for the stairs, motioning her to follow.]

So what did you do back home?

I ran a magic shop before it was completely decimated. I loved that shop. I tried to go back to the 'real' job I had before that, but things got too ... [She stomps a little as she heads up the stairs. Not going to talk about that one.] Anyway there wasn't much left to do but help the others save the world, so that's sort of what I did.

Maybe you can start a magic shop here. Sure there's gotta be some people who might be able to use the stuff.

[He notes the sudden cut off and wisely keeps from pushing about it.]

'Sort of'? How do you 'sort of' help to save the world?

The actual saving kudos go to, you know, Buffy. They always do, you know. [She stomps her feet a little again. She really doesn't want to get into that one.] I don't think I could run a store in a place that has no desire for an economy.

Economy doesn't always have to be money, though. Services exchanged, goods, hell maybe even points from doing things for the Malnosso, if you can figure out how to swing that one. You just have to get creative about it.

[He won't bolt up the steps and make her follow; so it's a slow sort of meander to the sixth floor while they talk]

I'll have to see. Everyone seems so... adjusted to this plane. It's disturbing.

Honestly, I think it's a survival mechanism. Better than going crazy.

[Sixth floor. Derek opens the firedoor, ushers them in and then into the large community kitchen. The floor itself is pretty quiet.]

I'm the only one who lives on this floor, so feel free to relax. Mi casa es su casa.

[He gets one of the onions out of the bag then heads for the fridge. eggs, milk, cheese, peppers get put on the worktable nearby]

What do you like in your eggs?

I'm not picky unless Dawn is trying to cook. What kind of cook are you?

[Relaxing is a tall order, so she takes to studying the community kitchen instead.]

Decent, anyway.

[He'll pull up sleeves and start washing his hands and the veggies he's going to use.]

Haven't had any complaints, at least.

[There's a reason he sometimes gets kidnapped to feed people.

As for the kitchen, its about the size of one of the apartments, with cabinets everywhere. A standard fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot, which actually still has some coffee in it from earlier in the morning. There's also some fruit and a loaf of bread on the counter, dishes in a drying rack by the sink. Derek apparently kept it pretty neat and clean, though. If she inspects the cabinets, she'll find he's gathered enough food for one person who actually cooks on a relatively regular basis.]
