Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Well, Rei's out visiting the forest for a picnic today and lo and behold what does she find but Goku scampering through trees. The boy had been one of the first people she'd met in Luceti and...as odd as it was having a strange younger version of the legendary Monkey King around, she had to admit he was pretty nice and not at all like the stories.

Waving, she calls up.]

Hello Goku-san.

[promisebroken]

[Goku drops down to a lower branch right above her head and waves down at her.]

Hi Rei-chan! What'cha got there? [He eyes her basket curiously, nose picking up the scent of food.]

[faithfulflame]

[She holds up the basket]

Lunch, of course. What else would be in a picnic basket, Goku-san?

[Honestly...]

Curry, rice, and a few manju.

[promisebroken]

[His mouth instantly begins to water and he leans so far over the branch it looks like he'll fall.]

Manju! And curry too! Wow. Are you planning to share it with someone, Rei-chan? [His eyes go all wide and innocent in hopes that she'll be willing to share with him.]

[faithfulflame]

[Rei shakes her head with a rueful smile. The minute she'd spotted him, she knew what he'd be after.]

I hadn't planned to...but I think I can share with you, Goku-san.

[She holds up a finger]

But. Not all of it, it's my lunch too.

[promisebroken]

[His responding grin is wide as he jumps off the branch and lands right in front of her.]

Rreally? Thanks, Rei-chan!

[He nods his head.]

Okay! [At that moment his stomach decided to give off a loud rumble. He laughs.]

[faithfulflame]

[Unable to keep from smiling, she nods and starts off towards where she'd intended to go, a little clearing she sometimes came to meditate in.]

I guess you must be really hungry, hmm, Goku-kun? Or...are you always hungry?

[promisebroken]

I ate a bunch of sweet rolls at the bakery this morning. [At least a dozen, but whose counting?] They were really yummy.

[faithfulflame]

Did you? Well, are you sure you're still hungry?

[promisebroken]

[He nods eagerly.] Uh-huh! That was a long time ago. And climbing trees always makes me hungry.

[faithfulflame]

Well then we'll just have to fix that, won't we?

[Okay, Rei's never been quite sure how old Goku really is...so she's assuming he's a child.

Having reached said clearing, she spreads out a blanket and carefully starts pulling out dishes.]

Have a seat and we'll get started.

[Knowing his actual age wouldn't help any as he's technically only a few months old. But a child he most certainly is.

He plops down on the blanket across from her and crosses his legs. His eyes rarely stray away from the dishes once she begins setting them out. He leans forward in anticipation.]

This all looks really tasty. Did you make it all yourself, Rei-chan?

[faithfulflame]

Of course I did.

[She dishes out rice, curry, and other things for him and slides over a lunchbox]

Mako-chan always said that making a meal yourself is the best thing, and I can't really argue with it.

[promisebroken]

[Goku is visibly drooling by the time she pushes a lunchbox over to him.]

Really? I don't know how to make any of this stuff. [He shoves a manju into his mouth and munches in delight.]

This is really good!

[faithfulflame]

You don't know how to cook? Goku-san...that's something everyone should learn.

Have you been going to school? [She waves an admonishing finger.]

[promisebroken]

[He pauses mid-bite and looks up at her innocently.]

Uh...yes? [He is the least convincing thing ever.]

It's just so boring!

[faithfulflame]

[She narrows her eyes]

Goku-san, you haven't been going, have you?

[promisebroken]

[He glances away, unable to keep eye contact.]

...No.

But I already know how to read! Ten-chan taught me. [He may be pouting. Just...a bit.]

[faithfulflame]

Well there's more to school than reading, you know. Home Economics classes can teach you how to cook...

[He looks at her surprise.]

Really? I could learn to cook? [Whelp maybe school isn't so bad after all.]

Can I eat what I cook? [Of course this is the most important question.]

...Yes...that is the point isn't it?

[Ugh, Goku...you are annoying sometimes.]

[promisebroken]

[He's a kid. Annoying is in his nature.]

Wow. [Dreamy sigh.]

Do you go to school to, Rei-chan?

[faithfulflame]

No, I've got the shrine to run. I do study, though. A lot.

[Her tone has the added "like you should be doing too..." but she doesn't say it.]

What's the shrine for?

[And he'll just ignore the studying thing because he has the attention span of a gnat.]

[faithfulflame]

It's a memorial to friends who have left. And a place for peace and quiet.

[A beat]

And a place I do fortune telling.
