[Let's not mince words about it--there are a number of things about the situation he's found himself in that Poland is profoundly uncomfortable with, starting with being surrounded by strangers and going all the way on up to the whole 'made subject to a whole new foreign power' thing.]
[But Poland isn't prone to giving up or despairing. He's less an optimist than he is goddamn stubborn, though it would be easy for an onlooker to mix the two up. And he's as determined as ever to make the best of his circumstances, which for everything else they entail, at least feature a whole lot less of Russia and Prussia and Austria than they used to. Count your blessings, right? When you think about it, now he just has ONE oppressor to pretend to get along with and ultimately win his freedom from, right? Progress!]
[And so he's counting his blessings on the side of the road near the middle of town, humming the main line of a song a little tunelessly as he draws something on the side of a handmade flier. The flier reads:
Join the Polish Cavalry's Troops in Exile! Bitchin uniforms! Sweet ponies*!
*supplies of ponies might be kinda limited right now but we'll get more <3]
[...And that appears to be a crude drawing of himself on a pony, kicking a trio of men in the face. Truly, this is the subtle art of propaganda at it's best!]

As I said the both of you were friends, perhaps seeing him again will jog your memory.
[A small sigh before he realizes that perhaps he should tell him.]
Though there is one another thing I should tell you, Feliks. But I'm not sure how to explain it.
no subject
Just like, spit it out, right? It totally can't be that much crazier than my day's already been...
no subject
When you were here last time... The both of us... Well...
[His face turns a bright color of red.]
We were together and in love.
1/Probably 4+?

I lied, he's not remotely out of flails steam yet.
no subject
[He is not sure how to handle this, and, as is often the case, that means he's going to be a flaily dork about it. He'd try to play it cool, but isn't even really sure how in this circumstance.]
You don't mean--
Ok, I'm gonna stop him there.
[HOW DOES HE EVEN FEEL ABOUT THIS? He does love Chopin, quite a lot, but--but it's not like that! At least, not so far? And what about Lithuania? That shit is complicated enough, especially since the Partitions. What... What does he even think?!]
I'm dying of laughter just so you know.
I wouldn't lie about something this serious, Feliks. Please don't feel like you have an obligation to me though, I don't wish to make you more upset than you already are.
I aim to please!
[Yes, a flawless and compelling assertion if ever there was one. The nervous laughing really helps sell it!]
no subject
I tell from your voice that you're nervous, Feliks. I'm deeply sorry, I shouldn't have told you about it. I only made things worse and possibly awkward, haven't I?
no subject
No, it's like--it's not like, your fault or anything? I just...
[He's just a lot more used to pretty dresses and meaningless flirting than he is to even really thinking about actually being in that kind of relationship, with his ex(?)-partner as the obvious exception.]
no subject
You don't need to say anymore, Feliks. I don't blame you for how you're feeling either. However I do want to say that you mean more to me than simply being my nation, I care about you as a person.
no subject
I... You know, like...
You know, I'm like super hungry all of a sudden! Aren't you? I totally am, where's the food and junk around here?
[Operation: Honestly Address Feelings -- SMASHING SUCCESS.]
no subject
Oh, I can lead you to some of the local restaurants. This way.
[And off to the place they go!]
no subject
Like, what do people eat around here, anyway? I mean, I know it's probably mega-gross compared to the stuff you've been having at France's place, but is it like okay and stuff? Are they feeding you enough?
[His inner Eastern European mom is always concerned about that when his people live with other nations. He's genuinely curious, too, as well, if in a sort of laid-back, lazy way.]

There's a grocery store that has all types of food, ones I've never even seen before. Much is modern food that I generally don't eat. Typically I eat salads, fruits, vegetables, some meats, and tea. It was more than I ate in France to be perfectly honest.
no subject
That's totally no good, France should treat you better!
But it's good that you're eating here. You said you were feeling better, right? Like, compared to before you left my place? Are you eating more than then?
[Important questions! He does very much have a protective side, one that his people can bring out strongly from time to time.]
...So like, modern how? Like some kind of New World thing? America looked like he ate fine when I met him... I hear he's growing up super big these days, so I bet he totally does!
