[Luceti, we have a problem: Sophie Devereaux has discovered there's a theatre club. ... and if one didn't exist before? It does now. Either way, she is completely over herself with glee and it's not long before Luceti sees a production of what some might consider to be a beloved classic: Death of a Salesman.
And that, my friend, is when everything goes wrong.]
[...] But he's a human BEING, and a terrible THING is happening to him! So, attention must be paid! [There's particular emphasis on "paid" - it's long, drawn out and hoarse to the point of being cringe-worthy.] He's NOT to be allowed to fall into his grave like some old dog! [Full stop. Full. Stop.] Attention... attention must finally be paid to such a person...!
[Sophie's voice, gesturing, everything she's doing on stage is harsh, hoarse and completely over the top as she collapses in hoarse, choked sobbing. You might think after a performance like that the rest couldn't possibly be half as awful as it could be, right? ... Right? That's when you'd be wrong - it's exactly as awful as it sounds and then some. Whether you leave early or actually stick around watch the rest of the show, catch her later on after the production. She's more than willing to hear your input, really!]

By the end, the Spirit was probably more confused than anything. He couldn't know if that was a good or bad performance because he didn't really have anything to compare it to. The woman had certainly had a lot of... enthusiasm at least. That was a good thing, right? The subject matter... some of it had gone over his head but the rest had left the Spirit rather thoughtful and he barely notices who he's passing as he makes his way out.
Barely, but when he does he suddenly finds himself compelled to talk to her.]
Ah... excuse me. May we talk?

No, no, no need to tell me. [She sighs dejectedly.] I already know.

Know what exactly? I only meant to ask if this was a good example of a usual theater production. I am not sure what I was expecting, having never been to one before.

So the few friends he had mentioned he should catch a play, and catch a play he did. An old Earth classic was playing, so he figured he'd start there.
The look on his face as she delivered her lines could only be described as annoyed confusion. Never one to really keep his thoughts to himself (especially with a few drinks in him), he couldn't let this continue. Renegade interrupt:]
What the hell is this?
[1/2]
The man is exhausted! He works for a company thirty-six years this March--
[2/2]
And just as abruptly the fake sobs have vanished, instead replaced with Sophie looking up towards the audience in genuine confusion. Did somebody seriously just interrupt her play?]
Wh-What? Excuse me?
no subject
I'm exhausted. Of this. This is worse than elcor Shakespeare.

Iroh, being a polite sort of fellow managed to not doze off during the performance and waited until it was through. After the show he walks around a little and stretches. When he sees Sophie, he pauses for a moment]
That was a very... ah... unique performance! Is that a common style where you are from?

And she's all too aware of that failure, after its... rather cold reception from the audience. So, it's a bit of a suprise to see someone approaching her who -- for once -- actually seems to have enjoyed it (or at least tolerated it).]
Oh! [Sophie's expression immediately brightens.] Thank you. I wouldn't say it's a common style for the character I'm portraying, no, but, well... I tried going for something a little more different this time.

Ah, I see. Well it is good to try new things now and again. Where I am from, plays tend to be done a little differently.

That was...quite interesting. You, uh, must care about Willy Low-Man very much.

Thank you. ["Interesting" was better than downright terrible, at least. She chuckles at his compliment.] I would certainly hope so, being the one portraying his wife. She's very protective of her husband, despite all his personal flaws. It's quite tragic, really.
[Then again, one could say the tonight's whole play itself was a tragedy. In all the wrong ways.]

[It was impossible not to have, considering how she'd approached the role. Keman still isn't quite sure if the play was meant to be a tragedy or a farce.]
Are all plays like this where you come from? I've never seen one before.
