A. [Action]

[Something about staying cooped up in a room just didn’t sit right with Levi, he had to be doing something. Anything productive would be nice. He had probably wiped down everything so many times that it wouldn’t be surprising if things actually sparkled.

Perhaps he should find himself some kind of work, but it was difficult. It wasn’t that any task would be too hard, it was too plain awkward to find anything else. Compared to what he had done for years to suddenly feel like life was just child’s play… it was annoying.

On a bright side, at least he got his clothing back to feel somewhat familiar, but the whole talking animals thing was something he would never get used to. He didn’t need a pestering cat watching him every time he would step outside.]

B. [Voice]

[In a monotone voice, yet if paid attention closely enough it would sound slightly strained. He really didn’t like feeling like a spoiled brat, especially coming from a place where rations were always a major concern.]

So all this free stuff that stays plentiful and electricity thrown in just for the hell of it... Although it’s great, it’s goddamn sickening as well. Kids are going to get lazy.

[Surprise became perfectly evident on Marco's face the moment his name was uttered. This guy was talking as if he knew him, but as far as he knew, he'd never met him before. ...Or had he? Somewhere in the back of his head, some recognition began to spark. Wasn't this man a Lance Corporal under the command of Erwin Smith? If so, why would he know Marco's name?

The surprise became replaced with an awkward grin. Pointless as ranks may have been in Luceti, he still didn't want to insult a superior officer.]

Ah... I'm sorry, I don't think we've ever been introduced?

[That didn't really answer Marco's question at all. If they hadn't met, how could Levi have known his name? Had Jean told him about him? Still, there was something intimidating about this guy that prevented Marco from inquiring further. Not directly, anyway.]

Levi, then. It's very nice to meet you. [For a second, he wondered if he should salute, but then he figured there was very little point. If Levi didn't want to be addressed by rank, he wouldn't stand for salutes either.]

When did you arrive here?

[Not longer than a week... Considering the timespan between his own arrival and Jean's, it was almost like there was a pattern there. The guide hadn't made any mention of arrival patterns, though. It had to be just a coincidence.]

I got here two months ago and Jean- Jean Kirstein- he arrived last month. [He wasn't sure if Levi would even know who Jean was, but considering his friend joined the Survey Corps, there was a pretty good chance of it.]

[Levi answered the question that was on Marco's mind just fine, but... important duties, huh? That came as a surprise, but a pleasant one. Marco still stood by what he'd said; that Jean could've been a great leader if he'd just set his mind to it. It was nice to know that someone else saw potential in a hot-headed guy like that.]

Really? That's great. I'm glad Jean's doing well for himself. [In a way, Jean was probably doing well for the both of them.] Then, you know Eren and the others too, right?

[So everyone really had gone to the Survey Corps. It wasn't that Marco didn't believe Jean's claim, but hearing one of the Lance Corporals confirm it just made it that much more real. It was a little weird to imagine that he himself might've been a part of that group if he hadn't... Well.]

I hope they haven't been causing any trouble for you. [He remembered how often Instructor Shadis would scold them for one thing or another. Would things really have changed that much after graduation?]
