Test Flight Meme
Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

He looks at the box, can't quite keep a look of disgust off his face. He takes the box from her, puts it back on the shelf.]
You shouldn't eat that shit. I'm not sure it's actually food.
[His eyes sweep over her, looking for signs of her fatal injuries and seeing none. It's almost as though it never happened. He stiffens at the thought - it really hasn't been that long since her death. Sure, he's been in Luceti for nearly two months now, but somehow time here didn't seem to matter. In his own way, he still hasn't quite gotten to a point where he doesn't think about her and the rest of the squad every day.]

[She doesn't really get why he wouldn't consider it edible, having not actually checked out the ingredients on the side of the box, more distracted by the weird looking bird enjoying it's multigrain treat.
His scrutiny makes her feel shy, and she looks away from him. Normally, trying to make the atmosphere comfortable was something she always strived to do, but this is something else entirely.]
How are you, Captain?
no subject
[Nothing that that's brightly colored could be edible, as far as he's concerned. If it doesn't look organic, in his mind, it probably isn't. Best not to risk it (who knows what the Malnosso is feeding them in their food anyway).]
[His gaze sweeps back up to hers, honey-colored and a mixture of concern and determination there that's so familiar. He suddenly remembers her screaming desperately for orders as they were being pursued by the female titan, and his hands curl into a fist as he fights to keep down a shiver.]
Well enough. [though there's a strange mixture of relief and concern wavering in him now.]
What about you? How do you feel?
no subject
She can't bring herself to look at him as she replies, though she knows it's rude and insubordinate, not that she expects Levi to care about the second bit.]
Okay, I guess.
[Overwhelmed, tired, and sore is the actual answer. There was too much to take in just knowing the fact that she's apparently not as dead as she had expected to be, let alone the fact that she now had wings and was in a whole new world entirely]
no subject
He doesn't really need all of that to see she's clearly troubled arriving here. It's disorienting being suddenly pulled from everything you know but still alive when you'd last checked. For Petra...
...he can't imagine coming here after death. How incredibly confusing and frustrating that must be, on top of everything else.
Levi's not one for outright comfort, nor does he touch other people very often. But right now, he's settling a careful hand on her shoulder, and gives her a gentle squeeze to encourage her to look at him again, if she chooses.]
Don't push yourself. We've got food, if you're hungry. Come with me so you can rest, and we can talk later.
no subject
But the way Levi speaks, the tenses he uses--it's not possible that he came here before her. There was no way he could have died before her, that wasn't something that could happen. They had just been together not hours ago, and he had stayed with the strongest and most experienced of the Survey Corps. Something had gone wrong with the Female Titan, but how badly had it gone before she found them?]
Captain, how long have you been here?
[She does look back to him when she speaks, a trepidation clear in her voice.]
no subject
Almost two months.
[there's fear in her. Luceti is a strange place, and the fact that they're here at all is even stranger, but Petra's seen strange and horrible things, and this can't all be a reaction to simply that. Levi's expression and voice turn stern.]
Petra. What's wrong?
no subject
I just saw you--even if the Female Titan killed you, you couldn't have been here that long before me.
[Her hand raises to her chest, clenching over her heart. It didn't make sense, none of it.]
It's not possible, it just isn't.

-she thinks he's also dead, that this is some kind of afterlife. For better or worse, that isn't the case, and the way she withdraws like that makes him step forward and clasp both of his hands to her shoulders.]
no subject
[Levi waits for her to look at him - Petra, probably the only person he knew who was the closest in eye level with him. He presses his fingertips against her briefly in encouragement.]
I'm not dead, Petra. This isn't some kind of shitty afterlife.
[she's been given a second chance at life - not that it's much better than before, but at least it isn't anything like a supposed heaven. If such a thing truly existed, that'd be where she deserved to be, after all. Not in another hell.]
no subject
[The dead don't walk among the living; it's just a fact. It would be one thing if they were both dead or both alive, but this wasn't possible.]
This isn't right, I can't be here like this if you're alive.
[ Who would do something like this to begin with, a wretched excuse for reunion? As much as she didn't want to be parted from Levi or the rest of the world, what was the point of stealing someone away from their home and keeping them with the dead? Unless he's lying to her to make her feel better, but that's not the kind of comforting solicitude he'd offer her--not usually, at least.]
Besides, how could you have been here for so long without anyone noticing?
no subject
[he fully admits it - there are a lot of things about Luceti he still doesn't understand. Lately a lot of those questions all begin with why.
Why is she here? Why bring her here? Why bring anyone back from the dead?
Regardless of what he wants, what he feels, she's right - this isn't right, but he can't do anything about it. She's here now, and they'll just have to proceed from there.
He drops his hands from her slowly, crossing his arms over his chest.]
Time works differently here. People say that time stops while you're here, and when - if - someone goes back, they can't remember their time here. It's like nothing ever happened.
no subject
So, it the others may not be here?
[It's obvious who she means by others. Eld, Oluo, Gunther--any of the rest who fell on that mission. She would have spotted one of them by now, right? Oluo was loud enough, she could have heard him from outside the store if he was here.]
jfc all of his feelings Petra. Just press all the buttons.
I haven't seen them.
I'd like to see them, if you can be here, so can they.
[which is about as close to expressing how much he misses them as he'll ever get, especially out loud, and perhaps even to himself.]
what does this button do??
Where are you staying, sir? I want to go look for them. I'll bring them to you if I see them.
[surely, if they were there, they'd be just as lost as she was. It would be important to find them as soon as possible. She's not tolerating the little thought in the back of her mind that they might not have come here with her.]
/weeps quietly
Levi vaguely knows what happened, what little Eren could remember before he'd changed had been enough to give him an idea of what happened.
He wants to reach out to her, but can't bring himself to do it.]
...Petra. They're not here. They might arrive at some point, but they're not here now.
no subject
No, they could be here. You just found me first, that's all. You didn't know I was here until you saw me, right? We just have to look.
[Stupid idiots they were, they'd be easy enough to find once it was night, anyway. None of them would be foolish enough to sleep on the streets, so it'd be easy to check then, too.]
no subject
It's worth checking again, at least, but Levi had a feeling they still wouldn't be there if he looked.
He takes out his journal, flipping a few pages until he finds the contact list and searches for their names. Petra's is there, but none of the others.
Levi shakes his head, offers the journal to her to look for herself.]
They're not. At least, not yet, if they are going to show up.
