Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[As far as Levi is concerned, her motivations are still unpredictable, and that makes her dangerous. But they don't have the capacity for a large enough operation to capture her without risking a tremendous amount of damage or getting other people involved. Even if they'd managed that, the sheer task of making sure she stays subdued would take up a lot of time and energy. At this point, Levi knows it's too much to ask of the people they've allied themselves with to help them do that.

So, for now, she gets to be free.

He looks at her, and it isn't as though it doesn't occur to him that in many (most?) ways, she's just like the rest of her class of cadets he's taken in himself. Perhaps, under different circumstances, he could have even liked her if they'd had any opportunity to interact before now.

Levi doesn't waste time on "what ifs" or "could have beens". All he sees in her now is a traitor and an enemy.]

( One hears you're supposed to keep those very, very close.

She takes it as enough of an agreement for now to let it be the sort of tenuous foundation recognized between two people who knew there were worse things in the immediate vicinity than each other. Nothing binding, not on words - actions spoke louder, and she knew hers would be under careful observation. It's nothing she looks forward to, particularly when so much of what has made her effective is her ability to blend in and move around with minimal notice. It may still be effective with any outside of Levi's group, whatever those numbers were.

She'll move with caution. It's habit. She's not looking to instigate in the first place, even less so with nothing to gain. )

Is that all?

( As if it's a light thing. Her words aren't light, nor are they heavy. Her tone of voice is neutral, carrying no particular inflections. She's holding herself to an invisible standard of something, close to the poise of someone trained to be a soldier. Not so surprising. It's what she's spent years doing in the first place. )

[He intends to keep a very very close eye on her, at least. For now he doesn't have any intention of exposing just what she is to the general public of Luceti unless necessary, but he's also keeping an eye on the cadets to make sure that they don't get too close to her, either.

It's a little strange - surreal almost. Levi has had no contact with her in this way - human - until now. In his mind, she's always been either a fifteen meter tall murderous monster, or a girl frozen over in impenetrable crystal. If it hadn't been for that, he probably wouldn't have even recognized her. Still, seeing her like this, he has a hard time recognizing anything human in her. Or perhaps it's because he doesn't want to recognize it.

Still, there is one thing that he's been curious about for weeks.]

No. I want you to answer a question.

That time you tried to capture Eren and I cut him from your mouth. [and brutally murdered his squad, but Levi refuses to talk about them with her]

I looked back and there were tears on your giant-ass face.

Why?

( There's a flicker of some emotion in her eyes, one that has her looking away, even skyward. She doesn't claim the things she feels often, and not to relative, technical strangers. She hadn't know he'd seen what he had, had no reason to believe anyone would. She doesn't want to remember so much of the pointlessness of what had happened. She still does, btu she wonders what it is Levi hopes to learn from something like this.

She doesn't have anything to give him. She can't. )

I wonder why, such a pointless thing...

( Annie leaves the statement trailing. Let him take what he wants from that; if he saw only avoidance, if the pointlessness was in crying, if the pointlessness was in the pain and death and suffering of all, if the pointlessness was in trying to change anything about what course of action she'd been set on for years.

She has no comfort to give, knowing what she knows. What is regret? What are apologies? What is it to feel in a moment the things that overwhelm you without words? She's more surprised her Titan cried with her, and the cause, the thoughts and feelings, those are hers alone. )

[It's no more an answer than he expected, if he's completely honest. But it doesn't make him press more - for now, at least. Levi observes and evaluates people carefully, and her physical reaction speaks more than her words. What any of it is really supposed to mean, however, he can't possibly puzzle out, given that he knows fuck all about her.

At this point, he doesn't really care, either.

Instead of a real response, he merely scoffs and turns and walks away, footsteps hard against the dirt.]
