Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Wow that was fast. Walter watches in fascination as September drinks without a flinch or a moment's hesitation. There was still so much to learn about the Observers and what they were, how they did what they did, and - most importantly - why. But that wasn't important now. What was important was finding a way out.]

Ah, yes, the data!

[Walter turned and headed to one of his many tables, moving a glass beaker off a small stack of beige folders, each labelled with a subject number.]

Unfortunately, the residents here aren't as forthcoming with samples as I had hoped, but I was able to get a few. Only a few pieces of the puzzle, not enough to see the entire picture.

[Walter frowned and turned back, the folders clutched tightly in both hands.]

But now we're both here. Perhaps you can help convince the people here that their cooperation is necessary to the completion of this project. ...If you can help us, that is. I don't know-- I don't know how it is you do what you do.

[People need convincing? No one's curious about being kidnapped and experimented on, curious enough to search for answers? To him, that's odd behavior.]

[He reaches for the folders, flipping through them at incredible speed as he reads.]

I will do what I can. We cannot stay here. It is not where you belong.

I know... [He watches again, fascinated by the Observer's abilities. He'd heard this place dampened special powers to a certain level, but how was that affecting September?]

I have been told that time has stopped from the moment we are taken - but the consequences that such an action would take upon each universe and timeline... The damage must be catastrophic.

[He doesn't like it, the lessened and removed abilities. It's throwing him off, not that anyone can tell.]

Who said so?

It seems to be the prevailing attitude here. It's a major cause for the complacency I notice in the villagers toward their imprisonment. [A sentiment Walter doesn't share as evidenced by the frown on his face.] The idea is perpetrated by a Guide published by a long-standing resident here, but there is little evidence to point to such a conclusion beyond that of the occasional return of those who have left the world only to be brought back at a later time. Sometimes their memories return, other times, they do not.

It is possible they are returned to the moment they left, which would be much simpler and less disastrous than stopping time. I know of no method of doing the latter.

But even if they are removed and returned to the moment they left, there would have to be a slight delay - even by a milisecond wherein they did not exist in the world. Otherwise, the margin of error could result in a person occupying the same space at the same time, would it not?

[The 'but' goes unspoken. His original point:]

[Because if it is true that they are travelling time and space, then Walter really wants to know how to do it.]

My calculations will need to be adjusted for time, place and mass transference. And somehow these wings will need to be removed - safely.

[He cocks his head in the usual way, it being so habitual he hardly notices when he does. Friends, is it?]

Yes. Yes, of course.

[He goes over and pulls a chalkboard out from one of the rooms, sliding it along until he has it up against one wall. Then he returns to get another, and another, lining them up side by side until the incomplete equation can be seen.]

The flexible nature of the barrier and the residents themselves causes an infinite number of fluctuations in the equation. Some days I have a week, maybe a week and a half before the entire thing changes. Some days, not more than an hour.

[It takes him a few seconds to understand the question Walter's asking with his equation. That's very slow by September's standards. It's like trying to think through molasses, and he continues to feel dizzy from plucking those feathers. An uncomfortable day all around.]

Once you finish this, what will you do with the answer?

Send those home who wish to go. Not everyone here is happy staying where they are. Some cannot leave because they were extricated at the point of death, while others are ageing beyond their own life spans. The unbalance being created by this pocket universe is incredible.

[Whoever is behind it is more of a problem than he realized without meeting any of the residents yet. He steps forward to correct a few numbers on the board, then looks at Walter again.]

It will not be easy. Something is interfering with me.

[His tech is as much a part of him as his arms and legs, thus 'me'.]

[Walter notes the corrections, studying them until September speaks.]

What do you mean? Interfering with you? Is it the bicarbonate? Maybe I shouldn't have put so much in...

No. It began the moment I arrived.

[Or awoke, whichever it was. He doesn't remember being taken away...]

Ah....that. Yes, I've heard that people with superhuman abilities find themselves dampened to at least half their capacity upon arrival to this enclosure.

...I'm unsure as to how that would affect you. I've never had a chance to study your physiology.

I must not be the first to have been studied.

[Of his kind, that is. This is as impossible as the so-called stasis runes used on him not so long ago.]

That is what worries me - if the Malnosso more know about you than we do, then I may not be able to fix whatever they have done to limit your abilities.

[You say the nicest things, Walter.]

Thank you. It is my responsibility to... fix myself.

There are labs here, some more sophisticated than my own due to the nature of the fluidity of time here - perhaps we can ask them for further help.

We will see. It is less of a priority than leaving.

But would it not help us in the act of leaving? With your abilities fully restored, it would be possible for you to do just about anything, wouldn't it?

If I am not the only one hindered, it is something much larger than I thought. It may be too difficult, in which case it would be best to leave. Then I will return... home if the damage does not undo itself.
