Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Jane takes another step and stumbles, nearly falling to her knees.]

Okay, I seriously need to get to a doctor. Can you help me or not?

[Habit had him reaching out to steady her, even though he's really not the story to be so friendly. This isn't his Jane, after all.]

Then ask for that, not for the fathead. He is no healer.

[Geeze.]

[If Jane hadn't been in her current state of weakness, she'd have punched him in the jaw - both for the namecalling and for what he had done to New York. She wasn't an idiot, though, and she knew she needed his help. That meant playing nice.]

Okay, you're right. Sorry about that. Do you know where a real healer is?

There are several. [He takes firm hold of her arm and begins to lead her into town, still keeping as much distance from her as he can. He is more aware than ever that this isn't the Jane he knew, and he finds it surprisingly disturbing.]

You don't recall Svartalfheim, do you? [It seems obvious, but it doesn't hurt to check.]

[She leans heavily on his arm, and when he asks his question she looks at him as if he's just spoken Aramaic.]

God bless you. I mean, I remember Thor told me that it's one of the nine realms, but I haven't been there of anything. Why do you ask?

[Well, that answers that question.]

A pleasant surprise in your future. You needn't be concerned at all.

Why am I not sure that I believe you?

[He is helping her, though, so she doesn't outright call him a liar. She knows he is the jealous type, and one who will kill innocent people and destroy without a second thought. That is what she took away from what happened in New Mexico. She is not his biggest fan.]

[Loki gives her a bright, terrible smile.]

Because you like everything to be in black and white. It's an argument I don't feel like having with you again.

Don't fuss. Unlike some of us, you and my dear brother get to live.

[Jane actually stops walking she is so confused.]

Again? This is the first time I've ever spoken to you. And...

How can you possibly know what will happen in the future? You seem pretty alive right now.

How can you possibly have wings and be lost in the woods in a shoddy dress?

[Shoddy dress?? She'd worked very hard to keep her dress in good shape after arriving. It was the only thing she had from home.]

Point taken. This whole world defies explanation.

At the very least, it defies a linear understanding of time.

Nothing truly defies explanation. Except perhaps for the appeal of...what do mortals call them. Oreos.

How could you not like Oreos? Now that defies explanation!

[Somehow he's managed to get her to smile through her pain and the uncomfortable situation. Perhaps he is more like his brother than she'd originally thought.]

Have you tried the flavored ones? Or the double stuffed? They're amazing.

Ugh, so sweet. And the texture. Like dry crackers. [He laughs.]

Flavored? With more of that horrifying so-called cream in it? I hope you're joking.

Okay so you clearly don't like sweet things, and I do. That's cool.

[She leans on him a little more, her feet starting to hurt from walking so far.]

Are we almost there?

I think most mortal food is vile. Well, most food in general, really.

[He liked Jane well enough, once, to be willing to help her out more. Does he like this Jane enough? That is really the question.

It's been far to easy already, to relax around her. To laugh. This is Jane, even if she isn't his Jane.

Ugh, fine. He sighs, having lost a silent argument with himself, one he wasn't even entirely aware of having.

Loki stops and takes a more firm grip on Jane's arm.]

Don't fight me.

[And then he stares off into indeterminate space for a moment, mentally calculating how to best contort local space to get the both of them where he wants to go.]

No wonder you're so thin. Maybe you just haven't had the right food yet. I bet I could cook some really amazing things for you, and you'd be singing a different tune.

[How could anyone hate food? She could not fathom it. When he stops and grips her arm her brow furrows in confusion, and she looks at his face, stern with concentration.]

What are you doing?

[He smiles crookedly.]

My lady tries to feed me often as well. She does quite interesting dishes with vegetables.

[Rather than answer, he simply completes this spell, taking the fabric of reality and twisting it, closing the distance between this point and the one he wants in the clinic.

Loki pulls Jane across into the clinic in the blink of an eye.]

There.

[He finds it tiring to do, in this place, but he's not going to show it.]

You have a... well, I didn't know that. I'm glad you have someone to take care of you. It makes life easier, doesn't it?

[Jane was still adjusting to being on her own, and even then she still had Darcy and Erik to watch over her. She had never been truly alone in her life.

Jane blinks and looks around, not quite comprehending what just happened. One second they were in one place and the next a completely different one.]

How did you do that?

I know not about easier. [Not easier, and not simpler.] Buy I find it to my liking all the same.

[He smiles.]

Magic.

She must be really special.

[It's a nice moment - him smiling, her smiling. She can almost forget that he tried to kill the love of her life.]

I was just about to say magic.

Of course. [Like he'd be with someone ordinary. Or like someone ordinary could even handle him.] I suspect you'll meet her at some point.

[He grins.]

Just another word for science you do not understand.

[She looks at him with narrowed eyes. How did he know she'd said something just like that? More magic, she supposed. Regardless, she was grateful.]

Thank you for getting me here.

[He waves a hand.]

Do tell people I plucked you up out of the woods. It ought to confuse them nicely.

Don't worry, your secret that you're actually a half-way decent guy is safe with me.
