Test Flight Meme
Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
Wan | Legend of Korra
[No food? No problem. Watch out for your lunches citizens of Luceti, because a certain scrawny teenager with ridiculous hair is on the loose and looking for his next meal.]
Option B:
[Wan doesn't even know what a book is, let along a magical talking journal that can record and display voice and video entries. Conclusion? Weird spirit magic. Solution? Burn it for protection.
You might want to stop him from chucking that large fireball.]
B
Whoa, watch out!
[Aaaaand he is releasing a blast of airbending to put out that flame.]

He looks... familiar. In some way that he just can't place.]
Are you alright? Where did that fire come from? It looked really... fiery.

Watch this
[Wan held out his hand upward and then released his fire, creating a torch. Making his fire small is kind of a work in progress... but it was impressive, right?]

[He closed his fist and the flame dissipates. More importantly Wan needs to know about this wind power. It's not like there are dozens of lion turtle cities just roaming around...
He is very curious, and also excited.]
What about you? I've never seen wind powers before.
[at least he looks human.]

[It sure looks familiar though - even more familiar than any otherwordly elemental power he's witnessed yet in this world.]
As for my wind, that's airbending! But I can bend all the other elements, too.
[But something more seems weirdly familiar about this boy. He feels like some part of him recognizes him... something deep inside of him is feeling nostalgic.]
creative use of icons, go!
You can control more than one element?
[Aang you might as well have said you flew to the moon and back for the amount of shock and disbelief Wan is currently experiencing.]
hooray!
Yeah! But that's just because I'm an Avatar. [He grins, holds up a hand and makes a small ball of fire, not too different from Wan's.]

A 8D Hi!
Well, Vash would be if he was in need of doughnuts, but they're free here in Luceti so he doesn't need to steal! Instead he's just leaving the bakery and stuffing his face with a large bag full of the tasty treats!]
so......... we meet again >:)
Well... actually he's not evil, only literally starving. And he has been hiding out waiting for someone to walk out with more than enough food. If luceti was anywhere near as densely packed as his city he could have done something cool like swoop in from a window or slide off a roof or swing from a clothes line. But his options? Pretty limited here. But he does have fire now, so there's that.
So as Vash passes his hiding spot next to the building Wan will release a little bit of fire... well... as little as he actually can right now. Right at the bottom edge of his jacket. Because anyone who is sane would drop their food if their clothes were on fire.]
And so glad we have! 8D
Huh, he pauses to look around. Doesn't look like anything is one fire nearby? Although it looks like there's smoke coming from... right... below... himself.] AHHHH FIRE! HELP! FIRE!
[Holding his precious doughnuts high above his head Vash attempts to stamp out the fire that has been set to his trademark jacket.]
1/2 also see icon keywords
2/3 Whoops
[Wan is going to run out, completely innocent and deeply concerned. Look at how innocent and helpless he is about this whole situation, half heartedly kicking a tiny bit of dust on the flames.]
3/3 this plan is fool-proof.... but not Vash-proof
Quick you need to take that off! I'll hold your food!
[holding out his arms now. You can totally trust the kid who hasn't had an actual meal in who knows how long and conveniently appeared out of nowhere with your food, right?]
Sadly, there is little that is Vash-proof
[Because this guy who had totally come to help in a pathetic manner just HAS to be Vash's friend and not after his food!
Wait! Vash has a great idea! He uses some of the wind magic he's learned from Kipinn to blow out the fire! Genius! Only, instead of putting the small flame out it actually helps to feed the flame and make it bigger.] AHHHHH!
expectation: delicious baked goods. Reality: almost burn someone alive.
[Wan is getting legitimately worried now that this guy is going to get seriously burned because of him. He's mastered the art of throwing fire in the general direction of stuff you want to burn, not really controlling it. He would make it go down if he could, food or not it's not like he wanted to hurt the guy.
But even though he hasn't realized how yet, Wan is controlling the fire... sort of. The fire dims in response to his emotions- but not by much.]
Welcome to Vash's world
Suddenly an idea strikes and without thinking he acts on it. Dashing towards the fountain in the middle of the square and jumping into it while holding his food above his head.] Ahhhhhhhh!
[Good! Fire out. One problem.] C-c-c-c-c-c-COLD!
1/? yes. yes you are getting another comment chain.
2/? no I do not have a problem
[Suddenly the bag of delicious baked goods isn't worth it.
Stealing from this guy wasn't really fun anyways.]
3/3 well, maybe a small problem
Need a hand?

I was gonna drop these threads so I could work on my app but I CAN'T
Instead he'll take the stranger's hand and try to help him out of the water. Wan is fairly strong despite being a short teenager built like a twig.
a lifetime of Aladdin-esque chase scenes will do that to you.]8D yay!
doughnut drama is the best drama
It is.
1/2 can I set a record for how many comment chains are in a single thread
2/2 at least I kept this one to the number I said I would
