Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.

▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for playing music? Try Cloud Nine's open mic night!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[The Witch stops, slightly puzzled by the sudden turn of emotion.]

My dear girl, what are you so afraid of? And don't say nothing or ramble off a half grown excuse, I see far better than most even with only one eye. You have a blockage about you, that much is clear as day. And until you learn to release it you'll never be truly content. Now, what is it about mistakes that troubles you so?

[That's a taaaaall order for Wanda. Rambling half-understood excuses is about all she's good for, really.]

... Ahm. When-- a person holds as much power as... we do. It's. ... They. [Aughh, failure, failure, abort, abort!] We... are examples to those with less ability. Mistakes are weakness, and weakness is nothing that a person in-- our position should show or have.

[This couldn't be more enticing if it were served up on a golden platter. This child lacks any sense of what examples, power and weakness really are. The Witch laughs, unable to stop herself, at the simple-mindedness.]

Oh Wanda, people are just people. More power or less, everyone makes a mistake now and again, and anyone that tells you differently is lying. Either to you or to themself.

And as far as being an example is concerned, weakness does not come from making a mistake. It comes from apologizing for it. That is the real secret about power. It doesn't come from magical potential. It comes from the strength of your conviction. If you stand firm always, regardless of may be happening around you, you will have a power that no one can take from you, a power that's far more real than any magic you or I possess. If you waver, then, and only then are you showing weakness.

[Planting the seed of confusion, the Witch smiles at her own cleverness. This child is shaping up in a few short minutes to be the finest puppet one could ask for.}

[Being a puppet is, like, most of Wanda's existence. That said, she's a little at odds with the Witch's statement. On the one hand-- what she says contradicts what her Father says. And he is always right. On the other hand, she is describing the way her Father acts, to a T.]

... Oh. That's. ... Oh.

[Colour her confused and conflicted.]

[Seeing the inner turmoil written all over the girl's face is a delight for the Witch. Reigning her own joy in under a mask of concern she engages again.]

I've upset you, I can see. I'm sorry my dear, I didn't mean to go waffling on so, and what do I really know anyway. Pay no heed to the ramblings of an old woman.

[Wanda shakes her head, and attempts a smile.] No, no-- I'm... very interested in what you have to say. It's just. It's very different from what I've been taught in the past.

[Having planted a seedling of discord the Witch moves on, for now...]

Perhaps it's best to let that subject rest awhile then. Let you think on it yourself before I go spouting off anymore foolish nonsense. Why don't you tell me about your friends. I haven't been here long yet and you're the first person I've really spoken to. I would so like to make new acquaintances, and get to know the area.

[Lies, but if she really wants to control this child the Witch needs to know what sort of a support system she has and how it can be manipulated.]

[God, yes. An easier topic, thank you!]

Well... I have a few. Kate runs HQ with me... she's human. Oh, but very nice. I like her. Bulla is... an alien. She's teaching me to fly, and has super strength. ...Kurt is... from my world. [Hello, unwanted blush! Fuck you too!] He's a mutant as well. A teleporter. Um. Billy and Tommy are... [Complicated?] ... great guys. Oh, Billy has the same power I do. Teddy's an alien too. He and Raven are both Shape shifters. And I'm not sure what Eleanor is, but ... she was given power through science.

[Enjoy that word-vomit of names!]

[That's a bit more power than expected in one collective. This news stirs up the Witch's fear again but she pushes past it for the sake of information.]

That sounds like quite the talented bunch. Aliens you say, and a man with the same power as you? You sound like an extraordinary band. I should love to meet them.

I'll introduce you, some time. ... Especially Raven, and Kurt. ... They're both blue, the way you're green, and they both hide it. ... It's a shame to hide something so lovely. ...And Billy's great. He's... Well. He stopped doing magic all together for a while, which... I honestly thought was not very smart. Even I know you can't just stop something like this.

[She gestures casually, her hex aura flaring up and a near by tree quaking from it's roots to it's leaves, it's branches and roots twisting until it's re-formed into the pose of a person with outstretched arms.]

But he's come to his senses. I think he'd love to meet another magic user!

Blue you say?

[This is something the Witch hasn't encountered before. Blue is the favored color of the munchkins but it certainly is not due to skin tone.]

But hiding it. Shameful. I shouldn't cover my pallor even if I could. It's disgraceful to lower oneself at behest of others.

As to your magical companion, I wouldn't mind an introduction if you think that would help knock such foolish notions out of his head. Though truly, any wizard that thinks they can simply give up magic has quite left their wits behind them.

I think he's already figured it out for himself. ...You have to understand, he... was raised in a society where people are encouraged to hide their power. I come from a similar place, but-- my Father taught me better.
