Player Name: Scath
Are you new?: Yes!
Character Name: Shihouin Yoruichi
Character Fandom: Bleach
A: [As capable as Yoruichi is, she’s never had reason to go grocery shopping before--at home, servants handled the food, and in exile, Kisuke and Tessai worried about that sort of thing. It’s dawning on her that in this matter, at least, she’s every bit as spoiled as her best friend claims she is.]
[Despite her considerable accomplishments, her domestic skills are awkward at best. Does she grab the rice in bulk? How much soy sauce does she need? Will green onions keep a few days or does she have to use them now? Does this place sell pickles or dammit, is she going to have to steal some from a restaurant.]
[So here she is, eyeing the shelves like they’re an opponent whose weak points she’s looking to exploit. Food is serious business, y’all.]
B: [Her wings have finally stopped hurting, so Yoruichi is out in the forest learning how to function with them. They may be pretty--the orange of her old captain’s haori shades to gold tips--but they’re playing hell with basic movements and she refuses to let her ability to defend herself suffer longer than it has to.]
[She performs basic martial arts forms over and over, adjusting her movements to account for the wings. She leaps from the ground to a high bough, or from tree to tree, quickly correcting whenever she lands with a slight wobble. Kidou spells are found to be roughly half of their expected potency, and her speed isn't what it should be, either.]
[Alarming, to be sure. But Yoruichi will work with what she has, and even half her speed is blindingly fast by human standards.]
[Finally, she takes a break, settling in the crook of a wide bough several meters above the ground. She’s not immediately visible to a casual passerby, but she’s not trying to hide--those more observant of their surroundings should see her easily enough.]
(ooc: Your character is free to come across her while she’s practicing martial arts, or her running through the trees, or while she’s resting. I left this vague on purpose, so feel free to poke me via PM if you need to!)

Re: EXCELLENT
...which flavor do you normally like to eat.
[ Sort of deadpanned a bit. ]
no subject
[Oh, she recognizes that expression, even if she's not usually on the receiving end. One brow raises the slightest bit.]
Hoooh. I've never had the kind from a package before, but how lucky for me to run into a ramen connoisseur.
[Also deadpanned, but that is definitely a twinkle of amusement in her eyes.]
no subject
[ Wow, that's kind of surprising. ]
Then I don't recommend any of them. They'll all be pretty disappointing in comparison to the real thing.
[ He looks her over for a moment of consideration, and then looks back to the shelf, settling on a black package, which he reaches out and picks up. ]
I suppose if you really do have to go with pre-packaged ramen, though, this one's not too terrible.
no subject
[She raises her eyebrows, taking the offered package with a nod of thanks and dropping it into her basket.]
[Along with 4 more, because let's be real, one by itself isn't going to feed her.]
That was surprisingly helpful of you. I thought you might have dragged that out a little longer.
[She just gets that trolling sense from you--takes one to know one, clearly.]
no subject
Ah, so you just trust people at face value, hmm. Could be dangerous. For all you know, I might've just suggested that you eat four packages of ramen that might cause you excessive internal distress.
1/2
But who else am I supposed to trust after getting kidnapped than a mysterious man in a mask?
no subject
Besides, if this does give me the shits, there's nowhere you'll be able to hide.
no subject
[ Because he's not. He's really, really not. His own expression is just as flat as it's always been, but there's a hint of a lilt in his tone. ]
no subject
Well, if you're not, that would make any future reveal all the more satisfying.
[Yoruichi is used to reading subtle amusement in others--and given that most of his face is covered, it's more subtle than most--so his expression doesn't faze her.]

no subject
Now am I supposed to be scared?
no subject
Why would you be scared, Yoruichi-san? I'm just helping you shop~
no subject
Exactly. Since you obviously have the purest motives, there's no need for either of us to worry, hmm?
[She moves down the aisle a bit, picking up a bottle of chili oil. Her wings gingerly flex and fold back against her skin, shifting beneath her loose jacket; it's still an odd feeling, one she's not sure she'll ever get used to.]
no subject
[ A little too airily as Kakashi follows her down the aisle, pausing to pick up some sesame oil for himself, tossing it in his own basket. He watches as her wings flex slightly, wondering how she's adjusting to it -- it'd taken him a few weeks to get used to his own. ]
no subject
Is that what we're called?
[Her wings flex again, prompting a faint grimace]
You know, five year old me would be ecstatic about these. They're not quite dragon wings, but I doubt I would have cared.
no subject
[ Kakashi keeps his mostly hidden, more out of paranoia of them getting injured than anything else, tucked under his heavy flak vest. Some of the feathers poke out, though. ]
But yeah, we call new arrivals "New Feathers." And whenever we get a new wave in, it's New Feather Season. Happens once a month or so.
no subject
How long did it take you? To get used to them.
no subject
[ He might just be infuriatingly vague to see how she reacts to that. ]
no subject
Oh, is that all? Seems like it would take someone longer to adjust--
[At the end of the aisle, a couple of roughhousing kids get carried away, and one tosses an orange at the other--who promptly ducks, sending it sailing towards the back of Yoruichi's head.]
[Without turning, she leans ever so slightly to one side, lifting a hand just as the orange hits her palm with a soft smack.]
--to a couple of extra bits hanging off them.
[She looks down at the orange, brows raising a bit before she tosses it into her basket.]
Hoooh. I didn't see they had these.
no subject
Maybe that's because you were spending too much time trying to decide what brand of pre-packaged poison to put in your body, instead.
[ Said rather deadpan, not really commenting more on how long it takes for wings to adjust. It varies from person to person, but somehow, especially with how quick her reflexes are -- and how easily she was able to detect something hurling at her from behind -- he gets the sense that she probably won't need too much time. A couple weeks at the most. ]
no subject
[She doesn't press on the matter of the wings--if she assumes his range is accurate, she can expect to adjust in a week or two, taking the average.]
[She's not too worried, though--it's not like she can't ask anyone else for confirmation.]
no subject
[ Airy and light, Kakashi's voice lilts as he shrugs. ]
no subject
[Grabs a container of pickled veggies, because she doesn't completely have the palate of a twelve year old.]
no subject
[ Said as he pointedly reaches around her to pick up some fresh veggies, which happen to be in the bin right next to the pickled ones. ]
no subject
[Grabs a couple of jugs of milk. Full-fat, thank you.]
