Well I suppose for many of the little people that make up the world, that's probably just the way it is. I guess I can understand where you're coming from, and that's all fine well and good for those who don't have loftier ambitions.

[Anna takes a seat, suggesting Vash should do the same, seeing as this could take a while.]

You see though, money is much more important than just a means of keeping alive, it's a means of building an empire. People need motivation, incentive, drive to do better, become better, to create better! It is this very same sense of competition that creates the best of the best achieving new heights of grandeur than ever before!

Let's use doughnuts as an example since you seem so fond of them. Well let's say Honest Joe's is the only doughnut shop in town and his doughnuts are... okay, but they could be so much better! Now where's the incentive for him to ever improve? People still come and eat there, and let's say he's doing so here in Luceti so he's doing it just for fun. Now, let's suppose boring Steve secretly has the capacity for finest doughnut made in the world, but he just doesn't feel like making doughnuts because he doesn't have to. Enter in money.

If boring steve has to work to get things he wants, let's not say food since that's required to stay alive, but let's say he has a prized collection of wood carvings from happy Alex. However he wants more from Alex, but Alex just doesn't feel like making more. Enter money. With the need or want for more, money can help wake people up, take action, and start working to build better, create better, invent, strive, dream, thrive, and create the finest of the finest of the most beautiful things you've ever seen!

Suddenly, Honest Jon has competition for doughnut making from Boring Steve because he's making doughnuts now, and they're competing for customers! The quality of the doughnuts as a result starts to sky rocket as they go back and forth to try to out do one another! Happy Alex starts producing more beautiful wood carvings so he can get rum from clever Jack, who in turn wants to get doughnuts from boring Steve or honest Jon! Thus my friend is greatness achieved!

It's all well and good to have the key essentials of life provided for us, like food, water, air, a place to eat and sleep. However, if money is introduced into the picture, people can strive for so much more than they could ever have before without it. That is how great art is born, and that is but one of the many reasons money is important!

[If Anna had a soap box, she'd be preaching from atop it right now.]
