Test Flight Meme
Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!
▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).
Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:
o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub!
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.
Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.
Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.
Anna | Fire Emblem Awakening

Anna <3
He's not especially happy to see what's going on either. Nor is he afraid to tell this peddler about it.]
Hey, the food here is supposed to be free, for everyone! You can't just take it all and sell it right back to them. The last thing this place needs is a resident extortionist.

You don't happen to have fresh doughnuts, do you?

Doctor Doom | Marvel Comics
[If you open your journal on this fine day, you'll be greeted with this imposing visage. Even though Doom does not have access to his usual armour in Luceti, given that it's basically considered a weapon of mass destruction on its own, he's allowed to keep the helmet. On its own, it's comparatively useless, but it prevents the rest of Luceti from seeing his horribly scarred face, for which they are no doubt grateful.]
Greetings, citizens - I am Doctor Victor von Doom. It has come to my attention that there is no system of government in place in this enclosure. This simply will not stand. Anarchy may have served in the past, but it shall crumble under the threat of a true emergency and devolve into pure chaos.
While I am certain that there are others here who are capable of leading, they are clearly unwilling to bear such responsibilities in this place. As such, the burden of power must fall to Doom.
Fear not, for I am no unseasoned monarch. Under my guidance, the nation of Latveria entered a new golden age of peace and prosperity [grasped in his iron fist] and remained neutral during a bitter conflict of ideologies where both sides were armed with city-destroying bombs, despite its vast resources which both nations desired. [If only because those bombs were spitballs compared to the weapons that Doom possesses.]
However, one man, even one as intelligent and skilled as I, cannot run a city on his own, even one so small as this, [At least, not until he's finished building his Doombots - once that happens, his recruits will suddenly find that their positions have become "redundant".] so I shall require volunteers to fill key positions within the infrastructure. Describe your qualifications, and if you are deemed worthy, you shall be allowed to move to the next phase of the interview process.
[tl;dr: he's taking over. Any objections?]
[Scenario Two - Action]
[Even mad scientists/dictators/sorcerers get hungry from time to time. Though he is entirely capable of making food for himself, Doom is used to having servants waiting on him hand and foot. As he is still working on creating Doombots out of the limited materials he has on hand, Doom has decided to sample some of the cuisine that Luceti has to offer.
While he is certain that it will be inferior to anything that he could attain in Latveria, he considers it a study to see how these people can make due with such inferior ingredients. So, if you're working or eating at one of Luceti's restaurants (or even if you're across the street, in all likelihood), you'll hear this bellowed at the entrance to the building:]
Behold! The scion of Latveria, Doctor Doom, has arrived! And Doom demands brunch! [He would have broken down a wall to make his entrance, but that might have made it marginally less likely for him to be served.]
Scenario two
So that's one Doom brunch, coffee, omelet, and some fruit, hun?
[Just kind of giving him an eyebrow raise there.]

Jack Van Burace | Wild ARMs: Alter Code F
He doesn't get far though before he realises that there aren't any books in this library. Huh... that was weird. Did the Malnosso take them all? Then what was the point of having this empty shell of a building just sitting here, abandoned? The man searches high and low before he finally finds a single tome, sitting lonely on the shelf, title: The Dungeon Master's Guide to Trolls.
Well, trolls were something he knew a thing or two about, but if the way the rest of Luceti was set up was any indication, the trolls here would be different to what he's used to in Filgaia. Time to flick through and see what he can find out!
Any if anyone wants to disturb him, now's the time to do it. Not that it seems like anyone's in here anymore...]
no subject
Apparently not. Rudy quietly slips inside, peering around the area. If he didn't know any better, one could easily say the place looked downright abandoned, shelves cleared out and everything. Honestly, seeing it so empty like this is just eerie.
Or maybe not so empty. He doesn't expect to see Jack here, for one. Quietly, the boy tries to grab his attention with a tap of the shoulder. And maybe a curious peek over it too!]
What've you got there?

Princess Hilda | LoZ: A Link Between Worlds
Hilda tries to go about her business with her head held high, her staff a solid reminder of her duty, but it's hard to think about these people she knows little about and to care about them while her Lorule needed her. How could she trust the word of anyone who claimed that time simply stopped? That was ridiculous. What would be a work of the goddesses was meaningless to her.
The blood dripping from her dark purple wing was a problem too. She would love to tend to it herself, but she's not able to reach as well as she'd like. And without Yuga, or Ravio... Hilda tries not to use her staff as a crutch, but it's painful not to lean on it a little. Why did a wound to a wing hurt so much? It was senseless.
But she must not appear weak. Lorule was suffering far, far worse than this.]
Harry Kim | Star Trek: Voyager
[So the bar? That's a good place to hang out for a bit. Or for an entire evening. Whatever. Not that Harry's drinking overly much - he knows what can happen if he imbibes a little too much.
It's not fun.
You know what else is not fun? Accidentally spilling the drink you just got when you trip over practically nothing. That's... nice. Really. Oops? Hope he didn't splash anyone.]
[option: b]
[Have an ensign at an item shop. Why? Because it's an interesting place and has all sorts of weird little trinkets and nothing ever useful.
That doesn't stop Harry from poking about pretty much everywhere in the shop. Some things, he'll look at closely, mutter about, and set aside. Some things get tossed aside right away. Still others -- a very select few -- he keeps.
Just in case.]
B!
After rummaging around for awhile, she throws down a lamp in frustration.]
I don't know why we even bother doing this.

Dandy | Space Dandy
[Content with his creation, Dandy leaps to his feet and nudges the trap with his heel to make sure it's sturdy. The twigs snap, echoing through the forest. Dandy's foot sinks into the trap's hole.]
[Alarmed and annoyed by his oversight, Dandy struggles to free himself and grumbles under his breath. He quickly turns to shouting.]
Hey! Hellooo! Anyone out here?!

Are you seeking a challenger?
Lance | Pokemon Gameverse
Thus the Dragon Master is trying to find things to do. One might find him at various points in the village today. At the grocery looking for food, particularly things to keep his three large dragons fed. Then later he will be at the library, reading a few books. After that at the battle dome, training his Pokemon. Finally, they all take a break by sitting on a riverbank over looking the stream that flows through the village.]
[OOC: Feel free to run into him at any of these points!]

Nii...where are you?

Church | Red vs Blue (season 6)
[Someone is arguing with a store manager. With all the knickknacks and items and weapons that can be found. Thankfully, this someone is not currently armed, only armored. Guess what the fight's about?]
I am telling you, I need a gun! I was told if I had a weapon I could probably get it here. So where the fuck is my rifle?
...What do you mean you don't have a sniper rifle here?! What about a pistol? Anything that looks military grade, maybe has the letters 'UNSC' stamped on them? Oh come on! I can't not be armed!
B
[Nightclub? Nightclub. At least this place has the decency to have bars and nightclubs. Church is not about to suggest that this place isn't so bad (even if it isn't, compared to, say, Blood Gulch, or anywhere near any Freelancers), but hot damn is he all about chilling out and maybe getting it on with a few winged ladies.
Please do not let him near a microphone. You will regret it, and so will he.]

Fakir | Princess Tutu
A few short days had passed and without wasting time, he had found himself in the library, a look of concentration on his face as he walked through the stacks. Nothing here looked like it was of use here but there had to be something here that would tell him more about this place, it's purpose or why he had these damnable dark blue wings that felt too real; too attached to be real.
Was he pulled into someone else's story? Where was Duck?
He was worried - not that he'd admit it easily - about her and he did look for her whenever he could in the hopes she'd show up, but for now was content trying to get whatever information he could on this place if it was possible, distracted by this and not thinking too much on his surroundings at the moment. ]
[Action]; 1/?
She had to reassure Sheena that she was really okay and that she'd be home soon. There was also Rue and Mytho to make sure they didn't worry. She decided to go on a walk to clear her mind. It was a nice day for it and with the warm weather returning, a nice swim sounded like a great idea sometime later. She didn't linger, but she just happened to glance into the library.
She was about to leave again when her eyes set onto a familiar figure.]

Ahsoka Tano | Star Wars
Ahsoka sits on the ledge with her feet dangling over the edge but she isn't worried about falling off. She isn't in a rush to move from her spot and instead watches the plaza below. More specifically she's watching the people moving around the plaza. People going in and out of the stores to collect their belongings or groceries.
This place reminds her of the Temple - or Anakin's flagship. On the surface there's a sort of calm - one that allows people to do their everyday rituals but underneath exists a coiled tension, waiting for the next attack. It was exactly like the places she considered home.
The only difference was the classes she would be attending were different from the ones she was used to. No meditation, no combat training, long history lessons or alien identification charts. She didn't know how much use going to school would be but Skyguy wanted her to. So it's with a sigh that Ahsoka gets to her feet and steps off the ledge - a straight drop to the ground below.]
Re: Ahsoka Tano | Star Wars
I don't think I saw any teachers up there with you. What class was that again?
Hawke - Dragon Age II
[After years of struggling for money and years of having earned a fortune for herself, it's still strange to Hawke that she doesn't need to worry about paying for things.
In the store, she considers her purchases carefully. The food she buys is fresh -- meat, vegetables, fruit, and water. There are a few bottles of alcohol in her basket, yes, but that's because she's always waiting for Varric and Isabela to show up, and she'll need to entertain them.
At present, she's inspecting bread, shaking her head. Under her breath, she's muttering.]
How am I supposed to check if it's fresh wrapped like this?
B)
[The battle has been fierce.
Hawke has used every spell she knows, calling down fire and ice and even lightning to strike her enemies. When she's had to, she's used the few healing spells her father and Anders taught her over the years to make sure her allies don't die. They're not her forte, but she's managed so far.
Now, there's a moment to breathe. A chance to look around.
And check on the person who's been fighting by her side.
She puts her staff on her back, careful of the gold figure atop it. She tries her best to smile.]
Still alive?
Giovanni | Pokemon games
[A grocery store that's nearly cleaned out isn't promising, but that's the consequence when you remove currency and make everything free. Money brings stability for a reason - and chaos, for those a little smarter than the normal bunch.
He doesn't need a whole lot right now, anyway - some bread and a pack of cigarettes gave gotten him through worse times and will do for now. He lights one up the moment he gets outside and dips his hat down low over his face, thankfully retrieved after some rummaging through the other shops. Now he's set.
And in a bit of a hurry, apparently, for how he's trying to walk through the crowd. Sorry for bumping into any shoulders in advance.] Excuse me.

and besides. he can't figure out the exact size of holes needed. his dragonair would help, but sadly it is lacking any hands. in fact, all three of them are, which is an issue. but he doesn't want to go capeless.
in short: lance sitting capeless by the fountain, his three dragonair keeping cool with the water and leaned over him, wondering if ruining his cape would be worth it. or if the tailoring shop would do a good job with it.]

Ravio | Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
He jumps when a record scratches in the HQ and another song starts up again. His hand goes to chest and he sighs. This world was so...
Surprising.]

Her thoughts trail off when she spots Ravio, sitting so carefree and listening to the music coming from inside. Part of her recoils - what was he doing here? why? why did this place bring someone who ran from his duties, who left her to have to rely on Hyrule's Hero? - and another part rejoices. It's something from home. Even if it is Ravio.
