Reserves are open and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test flight for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o1. The grocery store is out of food. What do you do?
o2. Wing injury! Call for help or stagger your way to one of our fine clinics.
o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?
o4. Have a talent for music? Try playing DJ at HQ, the new nightclub! Don't have one? Just dance your butt off.
o5. Beach party? Snow party? Leaf-raking party? Gardening party? YOU DECIDE.

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Above all? HAVE FUN. Oh. And don't forget to RESERVE your characters.

[Jade will just be sitting here at the bar: questioning his life and his life choices. But he has his ways of having fun, as he drums his fingers on the counter. Jade offers a snide grin to his friend as he witnesses the cocktail's birth.]

It does look like you've made quite the potent mix, Your Majesty. ...For poison, that is.

Oh, well, that's an idea. We could name it after one, that is.

[Yeah, at this point, he's rolling with it because it's not a Nephry cocktail by far... and really he's trying not saying as much, for now, since he's sure Jade knows what he is up to.]

[He gives a casual shrug as the thinks of a particularly fun-sounding name for a poison.]

In that case, we may as well call it a Runny Ortion.

[That gets a chuckle out of him, but while it's a fun-sounding name, he does not think it befits his creation.]

Hey, hey, couldn't you think of a better name? At the very least this drink deserves a name befitting the image it was attempted in.

Ah, you mean something actually befitting human decency? [He says with a wicked smirk. Then he tucks at his chin thoughtfully.]

We could try to name if after your intent, but the Emperor's Sad Attempt at a Love Life seems needlessly wordy.

[Ouch. What a low blow, bro! But it's one that he is more than used to bouncing back from after a pause to collect himself.]

Right. Then I should name it after you. From this moment on, it shall be called the Jade cocktail.

[It's a low one alright. But Nephry is his sister and a married woman, so Jade thinks it's best to keep Peony from getting too out of hand with his affections. He sighs.]

My, and here I was waiting for the right time to change my name. Although, I suppose that there's some value in sharing my name with a drink that has a true bite to it.

[Luceti has sure messed with his affections so, maybe, the distraction at Jade's expense is a welcome one.]

In that case, I won't hold back the honor of giving you this to try first. [And mixing maybe not his specialty, but he has pouring to art and serves up a glass of the stuff.]

[Oh, he remembers very clearly the time Luceti had them married. And that time they were young sweethearts again... From his distance, Jade can see that it's better not to let that get to the emperor's head.

He cracks a smirk as he sets his initial drink to the side. Peony's pouring sure is artful - but it's not Peony's skills at presentation that are being tested here.]

That sounds fair enough. I'll have to see if it's truly worthy of my name, after all.

[Of course his presentation skills matter. He was hoping they'd make up for the lack of visual appeal of the drink. Guess not... But he'll continue to push to see if Jade will or not.]

Cheers, I suppose. [He smirks and then he takes a good sip. Once he lowers the glass, he has an analytical look on his face. One that it's hard to read positivity or negativity from.]

[His own smirk makes its way on his face, and he watches Jade's look for a sign of how the cocktail may taste. Though when the analytical look of his friend shows no sign of good or bad, he finally cuts into the silence with a cheerful, but quizzical timbre.]

Hm? Is it good, or what?

[He raises a finger.]

It's almost as good as one would consider pure alochol to be. It betrays a poor grasp of proper portioning, and I'm left wondering if there was any fruit juice left in there at all. [Now he is smiling. But it's the smirk of a predator who has just enjoyed a meal.]

[Jade, you're a horrible guy, you know that. He put so much effort into making that drink for you and all-- actually not really, and so Peony laughs it off. The critique doesn't fool him.]

So you say. But that satisfied expression gives you away, you know? I can tell you like hard liquor so there's no problem. [Whether that is true or not, who cares. He's playing this back in his own way.]

My my. You think you know my drinking habits so well? [His smirk takes on a mysterious tone. Maybe he did enjoy the drink in some way, but he enjoys messing with his best friend just as much.]

I tend to be more accustomed to simple wines. [It's his own bluff; he's drinking plenty of other types of liquor, some of them hard, in his past.] Perhaps my look of satisfaction is a clever ruse, or a reaction to something entirely unrelated.

Sure I do. It's part of a buddy's job to know these things. How else can I call you my best friend?

[To almost emphasize the point, he puts his hands on his hips.]

Oh, is that what I'm known as? [He says very teasingly, steepling his hands together.] You would have to pass a written test to see if your claims truly qualify.

Oh, I bet you I could pass that one with flying colors. [This sounds like a challenge, so of course he'll say as much. He's confident he's not wrong either.]

My My. [He goes into a mock-chiding tone.] That amount of confidence isn't very healthy at all, Your Majesty. I'm almost tempted to compose such a test for you firsthand. [Of course he'd fill one with trick questions and dead ends...]

It's a healthy amount if I'm right about you. Test me all you like, as you're best friend I'll always prevail. [The "And don't you doubt that" is in his tone, too. And besides he knows all too well Jade would fix a test, but he'd just be persistent in writing his own answers apart from those optional A-D ones and make Jade concede.]

As relentless as ever. [He smiles. And he goes on teasingly.] I suppose that's one quality I would theoretically appreciate in a friend.

Oh, you do now, do you? [He says in a mock incredulous tone.] Tell me, how can their neutrality be assured when the person choosing them is not at all an impartial party himself?
