Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

o3. It's a busy evening at Good Spirits, one of Luceti's local bars. Do you dare try the drink specials?

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[Sanzo stumbled out of the Community House that Lupin liked to call home that afternoon right when the thief was entering for the umpteenth time that day, arms laden with fabric, chalk, and parchment paper--obviously he was up to no good. Again. He's in a good mood though, and calls out to the blond stranger as he's going by.]

Oi, you missed toga-night by a week!

[Yes. Troll the New Feather. That was always a good idea.]

[Sanzo scoffs, not recognizing the man at all----then pauses. That wasn't at all the type of clothing for the area he was... in... wait. This wasn't a desert town, either. Where on earth was he?]

This isn't... the same.

[Be glad he's momentarily distracted, Lupin, or he might have beat you up for that.]

[Fortunately Lupin is good at playing the idiot, because otherwise he'd be preparing for a high flying chase. He stares dumbly at the man, running with the stupidly innocent guise.]

What isn't the same?

This place. This isn't where---this isn't even the inn...

[He backs up, getting a better look around.]

What the hell...

[Lupin sighs--he was that new.]

Welcome to Luceti, where the skies are clear and the rent is free. You can stay however long you like, but you can never leave.

Sorry man~

[In a flash, his gun is out and his eyes are narrowed in a glare of such intensity many would compare them to the eyes of a shura, or rasetsu.]

On whose authority am I to stay?

[Lupin doesn't flinch at the sight of the gun, but drops the act of playing dumb.]

Not mine, that's for sure. You can try to get out, but you'd probably have better luck blowing out the sun.

[He doesn't lower the gun. His eyebrow quirks slightly out of intrigue.]

And who the hell are you?

[He offers a smile now. One that was wholly twisted by his willingness to play this game.]

Arsene Lupin III. That's a nice gun you have--a friend of mine also carries a Smith and Wesson. An M-19, not an M-10.

[His eyes widen as he pulls the gun back, as if his hand was burned by the man's very words. Someone familiar with his brand of gun? That was new.]

The 31st of T'ang, Toa Priest Genjo Sanzo.

[A pause before he scoffs, putting the gun away and replacing it with a package of cigarettes. Marlboro reds, soft filter. One of them he puts to his lips.]

And you have the face of a chimp. Knowledge of guns or not, it's not telling me anything about how I got here.

[Monkeys, monkeys. It was always monkeys that first came up whenever strangers met him. Lupin sighs, tempted to reach for his own pack of Pall Malls, but would rather not set his bundle and risk not seeing the gun be whipped out once more. He shifts his weight to the side and leans, almost too casually.

He only had so much patience for new feathers.]

You're quite rough for a priest, aren't you? I can't exactly tell you the how or the why that you're here, except for the fact that it just is. This village? It's called Luceti, and its maintained by an organization called the Malnosso. They...don't make much sense most of the time, and insist that the planet brought us here itself.

I don't trust a word they say though. They're so disorganized that the one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

[Sanzo listens, waiting until the chimp was done before speaking.]

How was I brought here? I'm not the type to be kidnapped so easily. It feels as though the world simply change around me...

[No. He doesn't mention the wings.]

---I had something much more important to do than sight see in unfamiliar territory.

No one's really sure about the how, just that the Malnosso are the ones that put us in the bubble. Still, it's wierd. Normally the new arrival is passed out and complaining about their wings hurting when they get here.

[He knew that he did, and was less than pleased by having them. It was part of the reason why he kept them tucked underneath his red suit jacket--the other part was pride. In a way, they were a representation of the handcuffs that they couldn't break out of...

It bothered him.]

Speak to the rest of the peanut gallery here if you want to hear their sob stories...Sanzo. [Because his knowledge of how to refer to a priest was flagging, and it felt wrong to tack a '-san' or a 'mister' to either end of the name.] Everyone here has something important that they're being kept from. Well, that or death.

[At this point, Sanzo is quiet, merely listening and digesting what the other has told him. It is with a sickening realization that he realizes the others, Goku, Hakkai, and Gojyo, were probably gone. He was here without them. He would never admit it aloud, but he considered each of them precious, irreplaceable people; it hurt to be without them. Instantly, a thorny aura surrounded him.]

I see. So I've been dragged to this place against my will, away from all I know, and mutated into a kind of freak for the amusement of some kind of unknown presence...

What a fucking farce.

I wish it was.

[The jests were gone completely--he understood the sentiments better than the man would have imagined. The underlying anger in the man's voice was easier for Lupin to handle than the bald disbelief that some New Feathers exhibited when the information was revealed. Fury was simpler, and made his job less tiresome.

The keeps his tone light despite the edge of steel in Sanzo's tone. Sometimes it was better to just let the person be furious.]

You can accept the fact that we're trapped here or not; the choice is yours. Acceptance isn't giving up by any means, but some people have their reasons for wanting to stay here. Others would skip out in a heartbeat if they could.

Right now? We have to wait for our enemies to show weakness. It...just requires a little patience.

[He rounds on Lupin, eyes fierce. Any misplaced word here might result in injury.]

Cho Hakkai. Sha Gojyo. Son Goku. Do you recognize those names at all?

[He heeded the underlying violence in the man's tone. No more games.]

I don't, but that's not to say that the might not have been here once. Are they friends of yours?

My servants. We've been journeying to the West to stop the revival of an ancient youkai king, Gyumaoh. Those idiots... of course they wouldn't be here.

Well, your mission to the West is just going to have to wait for a while then--sorry.

If it's consolation? Years spent here doesn't even amount to seconds back home. You don't need to worry about the revival happening without you.

[That's promising... but even so.]

The others. What are my chances of seeing them here?

The odds are random--sorry.

...I've had all of my friends here at some point during the last eight months, but we haven't all been around at the same time. As it stands? Only one is left here in the village, for now.

The resignation in Sanzo's tone was noted, but Lupin couldn't help but poke at it.] That's a very mature outlook on this.
