Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

[Well, that is obviously not the best way to attempt to figure out why two useless-looking off-white dove-wings are fluttering uselessly at his back. Pulling on one of them has resulted in feeling like he's been hit by a truck so he's not in a hurry to try that again. Convinced it's some kind of horrible mutation of some kind brought on by a youkai's power, Sanzo's putting his shirt back on and readjusting his robes in a hurry, hoping to hide them. Anyone who sees him leave the inn he was just staying at (which has since stopped being an inn since he was transported to wing-land) is welcome to come antagonize--I mean interact with him.]

Arsene Lupin III // Lupin III

[Sanzo stumbled out of the Community House that Lupin liked to call home that afternoon right when the thief was entering for the umpteenth time that day, arms laden with fabric, chalk, and parchment paper--obviously he was up to no good. Again. He's in a good mood though, and calls out to the blond stranger as he's going by.]

Oi, you missed toga-night by a week!

[Yes. Troll the New Feather. That was always a good idea.]

[Sanzo scoffs, not recognizing the man at all----then pauses. That wasn't at all the type of clothing for the area he was... in... wait. This wasn't a desert town, either. Where on earth was he?]

This isn't... the same.

[Be glad he's momentarily distracted, Lupin, or he might have beat you up for that.]

[Fortunately Lupin is good at playing the idiot, because otherwise he'd be preparing for a high flying chase. He stares dumbly at the man, running with the stupidly innocent guise.]

What isn't the same?

[He backs up, getting a better look around.]

What the hell...

[Lupin sighs--he was that new.]

[In a flash, his gun is out and his eyes are narrowed in a glare of such intensity many would compare them to the eyes of a shura, or rasetsu.]

On whose authority am I to stay?

[Lupin doesn't flinch at the sight of the gun, but drops the act of playing dumb.]

Not mine, that's for sure. You can try to get out, but you'd probably have better luck blowing out the sun.

[He doesn't lower the gun. His eyebrow quirks slightly out of intrigue.]

And who the hell are you?

[He offers a smile now. One that was wholly twisted by his willingness to play this game.]

Arsene Lupin III. That's a nice gun you have--a friend of mine also carries a Smith and Wesson. An M-19, not an M-10.

[His eyes widen as he pulls the gun back, as if his hand was burned by the man's very words. Someone familiar with his brand of gun? That was new.]

The 31st of T'ang, Toa Priest Genjo Sanzo.

[A pause before he scoffs, putting the gun away and replacing it with a package of cigarettes. Marlboro reds, soft filter. One of them he puts to his lips.]

And you have the face of a chimp. Knowledge of guns or not, it's not telling me anything about how I got here.

[Monkeys, monkeys. It was always monkeys that first came up whenever strangers met him. Lupin sighs, tempted to reach for his own pack of Pall Malls, but would rather not set his bundle and risk not seeing the gun be whipped out once more. He shifts his weight to the side and leans, almost too casually.

He only had so much patience for new feathers.]

You're quite rough for a priest, aren't you? I can't exactly tell you the how or the why that you're here, except for the fact that it just is. This village? It's called Luceti, and its maintained by an organization called the Malnosso. They...don't make much sense most of the time, and insist that the planet brought us here itself.

I don't trust a word they say though. They're so disorganized that the one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

[Sanzo listens, waiting until the chimp was done before speaking.]

How was I brought here? I'm not the type to be kidnapped so easily. It feels as though the world simply change around me...

[No. He doesn't mention the wings.]

---I had something much more important to do than sight see in unfamiliar territory.

Son Goku || Saiyuki Gaiden

[Did you have breakfast yet, Sanzo? Because there's a delicious smell drifting in the air if you're hungry, coming directly from a box that's being carried around by a small kid with brown hair and a golden diadem that's running all around the village. At least until he spots Sanzo and approaches, proceeding to just... Stand there staring at him with a stupid look on his face.]

... Sanzo?

[That's Konzen's face, he's pretty sure of that, but he has his hair short, like Tenpou did when in Luceti and called himself Hakkai. And his clothes are a bit different too. The kid isn't sure and there's a lack of familiarity in his voice when calling the other, as if he still hasn't attached the name to that face.]

[heardyoucall]

[Sanzo stops, recognizing the voice, and turns, spotting the monkey looking up at him. He was smaller than Sanzo remembered, much smaller... and his cheeks were chubbier. He looked much more like a little bun stuff with jam now than the Goku Sanzo remembered...]

...Goku?

[He was confused.]

You've shrunk.

[Goku keeps staring a bit longer as if confused even though he was the one to call out for the other first. It's pretty much like what happened with Hakkai, a very familiar face, if not the same, a voice with familiar tones... But an overall different appearance. No, it was a bit worse now because this man held himself a bit different from Konzen, Hakkai hadn't seemed so different. But he knows him, he called him Goku so he had got it right, right?

Goku scratches his head still thinking about that... Until it hits what the other just said.]

HEY!! I haven't shrunk!! I'm growing taller!!

[He has marks on a door frame to show it... Not that he has grown much in the one year and a half that he has been in Luceti but still it's enough for him.]

Your hair is the one that has shrunk here!

[He's sensitive about his hair, okay?]

You're walking a dangerous line, saru...

I'm not walking now.

[What are you talking about, he's just standing there! And your hair totally shrunk. Or was cut, whatever.

Oh, yeah.]

I'm not a monkey!!

[heardyoucall]

[He is very curious about this Goku and decides he'll take some time to talk to him to get to the bottom of this.]

Goku, do you know who I am?

[Goku pauses, looking a bit wary before he answers.]

... Sanzo?

[The pronunciation is slow and unsure. He looks at the man expectantly, thinking that this may just be a test to make sure that Goku has memorized the correct name and won't slip. If this man is really Konzen, that is, Goku's still not sure, he is very familiar and yet very different as well.]

... Hakkai told me. There's Gojyo and Sanzo and Hakkai. And then there's me, Goku. Right?

[heardyoucall]

[He sits down in the grass, looking to the boy.]

I'm not someone you honestly know very well yet, am I?

[It's important to him to know. Goku is Goku. He would always care about him, even if this one wasn't the one he'd rescued.]

[That question confuses the kid even more. In his mind Sanzo, Gojyo and Hakkai are names that Konzen, Kenren and Tenpou got to hide from the people in Heavens who were chasing them. They also changed their appearances for that, and only Goku was the one allowed to remain with his name and appearance because anyway he wouldn't have wanted another name. But that's all he knows, is there a fake story for why they are together or something?

He frowns, trying to remember things that Hakkai said, any hints as to what is the correct answer to give to that question. Is he supposed to not know Konzen's new identity? But he doesn't like that, Konzen was the one to take care of him, and Kenren always made those jokes about father and son, he hadn't understood them completely back then, he didn't even really know what a father or a mother was. But now he does, he has learned a lot and he understands what Kenren meant and he was right, wasn't he? Konzen was pretty much his father. He can accept other fathers but he doesn't want Konzen to stop being the person who takes care of him.]

... Y-You're Sanzo, you take care of me. Of course I know you well.

[There's a lot of hesitation in his voice, but it's not a lie, he doesn't believe it's a lie, he really thinks that this man is Konzen and thus he knows him well. And he doesn't care what story they are supposed to tell people, but he won't accept any other story. The kid frowns and repeats his words.]

You take care of me, you've taken care of me for a long time, you give me food and clothes and you protect me and help me! And you get angry when I play around your office and break things but you never kick me away or abandon me. I know you well!

[heardyoucall]

[Sanzo is now worried something else is afoot here. Everything he's just said is very true, of course. When Goku played in his office at the temple of Keiun he would become upset... but something was just off.]

...Goku, were you ever...

[He didn't want to hurt the boy, but at the same time, he couldn't bear to know someone had lied to him or somehow he wasn't privy to the full truth.]

What about Mount Gogyo?

[Goku just blinks.]

Gojyo isn't a mountain. He's tall but he's not as tall as a mountain, I remember Mount Kaka was looooots taller than he is.
