Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

Son Goku || Saiyuki Gaiden

[Did you have breakfast yet, Sanzo? Because there's a delicious smell drifting in the air if you're hungry, coming directly from a box that's being carried around by a small kid with brown hair and a golden diadem that's running all around the village. At least until he spots Sanzo and approaches, proceeding to just... Stand there staring at him with a stupid look on his face.]

... Sanzo?

[That's Konzen's face, he's pretty sure of that, but he has his hair short, like Tenpou did when in Luceti and called himself Hakkai. And his clothes are a bit different too. The kid isn't sure and there's a lack of familiarity in his voice when calling the other, as if he still hasn't attached the name to that face.]

[heardyoucall]

[Sanzo stops, recognizing the voice, and turns, spotting the monkey looking up at him. He was smaller than Sanzo remembered, much smaller... and his cheeks were chubbier. He looked much more like a little bun stuff with jam now than the Goku Sanzo remembered...]

...Goku?

[He was confused.]

You've shrunk.

[Goku keeps staring a bit longer as if confused even though he was the one to call out for the other first. It's pretty much like what happened with Hakkai, a very familiar face, if not the same, a voice with familiar tones... But an overall different appearance. No, it was a bit worse now because this man held himself a bit different from Konzen, Hakkai hadn't seemed so different. But he knows him, he called him Goku so he had got it right, right?

Goku scratches his head still thinking about that... Until it hits what the other just said.]

HEY!! I haven't shrunk!! I'm growing taller!!

[He has marks on a door frame to show it... Not that he has grown much in the one year and a half that he has been in Luceti but still it's enough for him.]

Your hair is the one that has shrunk here!

[heardyoucall]

[He's sensitive about his hair, okay?]

You're walking a dangerous line, saru...

I'm not walking now.

[What are you talking about, he's just standing there! And your hair totally shrunk. Or was cut, whatever.

Oh, yeah.]

I'm not a monkey!!

[heardyoucall]

[He is very curious about this Goku and decides he'll take some time to talk to him to get to the bottom of this.]

Goku, do you know who I am?

[Goku pauses, looking a bit wary before he answers.]

... Sanzo?

[The pronunciation is slow and unsure. He looks at the man expectantly, thinking that this may just be a test to make sure that Goku has memorized the correct name and won't slip. If this man is really Konzen, that is, Goku's still not sure, he is very familiar and yet very different as well.]

... Hakkai told me. There's Gojyo and Sanzo and Hakkai. And then there's me, Goku. Right?

[heardyoucall]

[He sits down in the grass, looking to the boy.]

I'm not someone you honestly know very well yet, am I?

[It's important to him to know. Goku is Goku. He would always care about him, even if this one wasn't the one he'd rescued.]

[That question confuses the kid even more. In his mind Sanzo, Gojyo and Hakkai are names that Konzen, Kenren and Tenpou got to hide from the people in Heavens who were chasing them. They also changed their appearances for that, and only Goku was the one allowed to remain with his name and appearance because anyway he wouldn't have wanted another name. But that's all he knows, is there a fake story for why they are together or something?

He frowns, trying to remember things that Hakkai said, any hints as to what is the correct answer to give to that question. Is he supposed to not know Konzen's new identity? But he doesn't like that, Konzen was the one to take care of him, and Kenren always made those jokes about father and son, he hadn't understood them completely back then, he didn't even really know what a father or a mother was. But now he does, he has learned a lot and he understands what Kenren meant and he was right, wasn't he? Konzen was pretty much his father. He can accept other fathers but he doesn't want Konzen to stop being the person who takes care of him.]

... Y-You're Sanzo, you take care of me. Of course I know you well.

[There's a lot of hesitation in his voice, but it's not a lie, he doesn't believe it's a lie, he really thinks that this man is Konzen and thus he knows him well. And he doesn't care what story they are supposed to tell people, but he won't accept any other story. The kid frowns and repeats his words.]

You take care of me, you've taken care of me for a long time, you give me food and clothes and you protect me and help me! And you get angry when I play around your office and break things but you never kick me away or abandon me. I know you well!

[heardyoucall]

[Sanzo is now worried something else is afoot here. Everything he's just said is very true, of course. When Goku played in his office at the temple of Keiun he would become upset... but something was just off.]

...Goku, were you ever...

[He didn't want to hurt the boy, but at the same time, he couldn't bear to know someone had lied to him or somehow he wasn't privy to the full truth.]

What about Mount Gogyo?

[Goku just blinks.]

Gojyo isn't a mountain. He's tall but he's not as tall as a mountain, I remember Mount Kaka was looooots taller than he is.

[heardyoucall]

Gogyo. Not Gojyo. It was the place I found you, Goku.

[the_brightest_sun]

[The kid starts to shake his head but stops. Maybe this is a change for their story? In that case Mount Gogyo would equal Mount Kaka, right? Even though that's not how they met, Goku understands they can't go around saying how they really met if they are hiding.]

Oh, yes! Mount Gogyo! I remember, I was born there and lived there until we met and you took care of me because I had no family! ... Is that right?

[If it wasn't for that last question one could have thought the kid was honestly remembering that. But no, he's just trying to make sense of things without thinking about things he doesn't want to think about.]

[heardyoucall]

[Sanzo bites his tongue, quieting. He looks about for a moment.]

...Goku, I don't think I'm the person you think I am.

[Inside, his heart was clenched tightly with a pain he didn't recognize. Certainly he missed Goku; certainly this Goku was the same young boy he'd taken in... but the timing was off. They'd never met. Even he knew that. Maybe in a past life if such things happened, but for now, no. This Goku knew someone else.]

And I want you to tell me what you honestly know. No secrets or lies. You can tell me everything.

[Goku shifts at that, obviously uncomfortable and confused. Did he give the wrong answer? Or is this a test to see if he would back off from the story? He's honestly confused and lost.]

... Hakkai didn't make so many questions, you know. You're Sanzo, aren't you? And we met in Mount Gogyo, and you take care of me... And we're friends with Hakkai and Gojyo.

[He pauses in the litany of repeating things without really believing them or knowing them. He thinks for a moment, trying to remember something else, anything... He frowns, concentrating. For well over a year the kid had tried to live with just the present in mind, because thinking about what happened hurt and confused him and he couldn't know what the future would hold for him. So memories were soon discarded for him. Still they were there so he tries his best to remember even if he doesn't understand why they are doing this. Luceti is a safe place, at least safer than Heavens was, it's not the Heavens army that they have to worry about when in Luceti.

He really hates complicated things.]

We were on an important travel, to the west. In Shangri-la.

[It's still obvious that it's not his real memory what he's fishing that from, or rather than it's something we was told. He tries to remember more but it's tiring and hurts his brain and his heart because he really didn't want to think of that. His patience is feed up so he shakes his head and groans.]

What does it matter anyway?! You're here after so long, I've been waiting and waiting and you just give me all those difficult questions. It's stupid! You're being stupid! Hakkai was stupid too! Luceti is a good place, we're safe here so we don't need all this stuff, really! No one cares who we are so why bother?
