the luceti test drive meme

Reserves have just opened and apps are right around the corner. But are you still on the fence about any of your would-be characters? Well -- here is your chance to take them out for a spin!

▣ TAG IN or reply to others with characters you would like to test drive for Luceti.
▣ ONLY add top-level comments for characters who are not yet in the game. You're free to reply to others with Luceti characters (because that's half the fun) but remember that the whole point of this meme is for potential characters.
▣ PLEASE do not post duplicates of characters already in Luceti.
▣ GO AHEAD and give us a brief description of your character in the top-level comment, along with one or two possible ways to run into your test-driven character around town.
▣ YOU MAY use these threads for your first person samples on your app -- just make sure that you link threads of a goodly length (i.e., threads with at least ten comments from your character).

Need a little help getting started? Remember, you needn't post here as though your character is still brand-spankin' new. It'll probably be more fun for all involved if this isn't a simple dress rehearsal for showing up. Here are a few scenario ideas:

Okay. So my examples are pretty non-exciting. But they're really just suggestions. I'm POSITIVE you kids can come up with more creative things.

[ he simply watches her from the doorway, as she goes on with her business. it's a little surprising that she continues to bother with the housework, but it isn't something he won't appreciate.

in any case, like Souji, he won't make an attempt in trying to divert her attention over to him. if she notices him, she notices him. that was that. ]

[Unlike Souji, Saitou doesn't seem intent on stalking and surprising her, so Chizuru keeps to herself and her self-imposed chores. Unless someone tells her otherwise, she'll be resuming her usual duties here, thank you very much!

After a few minutes of extra elbow-grease in those tricky corners, Chizuru finally rises to her feet to go pour the dirty water outside. She's on her way out the door when she spots Saitou (at last ~~what's peripheral vision?~~.]

Oh!

Yukimura. [ he includes a tiny nod of acknowledgement. ] Lunch is ready.

[ "It is time to take a break." Using his eyes to depict this message, the words will remain unsaid otherwise. ]

[Chizuru lowers the bucket to rest against her knees.] Lunch?

[But she hadn't started--oh. Chizuru smiles warmly.] Did you make everyone lunch, Saitou-san?

[He was always more adept at cooking than the other Shinsengumi members, after all.]

It was my turn for the rotation . . .

[ the smile causes him to avert his gaze slightly. just slightly. it was almost unnoticeable. ]

The other members of the Shinsengumi are currently out, however.

[ he himself would wait for their return, but seeing as Chizuru had been hard at work for quite a while... ]

I see. [Chizuru thought nothing of it, but Saitou was sorely mistaken if he thought she would eat alone.]

If you've already set aside everyone's lunches, shall I help you tidy the kitchen up?

[ ... ]

That is my job to tend to.

[A perfectly characteristic response to an otherwise mundane task. Chizuru shouldn't be surprised that Saitou takes all matters with such seriousness.]

Would I just get in the way? [She couldn't think of any other reason why someone wouldn't want the help...]

[ considering the vice-commander had set up these rotations, his dedication wasn't something that was supposed to be surprising anyhow. ]

No. [ bluntly. ] But it is not something you should burden onto yourself.

But...

[But what? Chizuru couldn't really come up with any sort of protest that would change the reality of the situation; Hijikata had put everyone on rotation, and, as could be expected, the captains were given considerably more responsibility than what she perceived as getting herself.

It didn't seem fair to them. Cooking was something she was used to helping with, why why didn't they let her take care of domestic matters? They had so many other concerns, after all...] I want to help...

[ they had promised to take care of her -- it was only natural. ]

[ there's a distinct beat. ] If it is something you are adamant on, then I will say nothing else to deter you.

[ he won't be leaving it to her completely. it was something he was assigned to, so it was his role to see it to the end. ]

[Chizuru smiles, her mood quickly picking up at Saitou's acquiescence.]

It'll get done so much faster this way! You'll see...

[She picks up her cleaning utensils and nods to Saitou, gesturing him to lead the way.]

[ it wasn't the efficiency he had qualms about, Chizuru. but without missing a single beat, he begins to make his way towards the kitchen.

... it's actually rather neat, despite the fact that he had just prepared a meal for a whole group people. still, there's a small pile of dishes in the sink along with a few ingredients scattered about. taking care of the latter, he's sure Chizuru knows what to do without him saying anything. ]

[He must have cleaned up along the way. Even so, Chizuru was amazed at how effortlessly Saitou seemed to make kitchen duties appear.]

You're really masterful at lots of things, aren't you, Saitou-san..? [She mutters this under her breath, not entirely directing it towards Saitou to answer, but more as an idle observation.

She moves to the dishes. There was no question that they needed to be cleaned and put up, but was that all that was left? Chizuru peered to Saitou through the corner of her eye.

Of course. It made sense that with as skilled as Saitou was with his sword, and how seriously he took his duties...of course he would have perfected his cooking skill. It's not like it was all that difficult as a skill, after all. If she could do it, after all...] ....

[She wishes that they wouldn't waste their time on the silly things that Chizuru could take care of. They had more important things to do, didn't they?]

[ Saitou wasn't one to settle for mediocrity, so whatever he did would have to be both efficient and in a professional manner. ]

It is a result of continuous practice. [ gathering the remnants of the vegetables that were left over, he packages them up neatly to store them back in the fridge. at this point, he takes to observing the girl.

and if they so happen to make eye contact, Saitou will tilt his head just the slightest -- noticing that she had something on her mind. though, he won't make any attempts into pressuring her into saying what it was.

they hadn't always had Chizuru around to take care of these things for them. while their chores had noticeably lessened since Chizuru's arrival, call it a habit that they still continued their routine. and even then, it wasn't right to just lump everything onto her. they had responsibility. ]

You always do everything one-hundred percent...[It's still a soft muttering, but who's to say they can't carry on a conversation that way? He seemed to favor the quiet. As long as they could hear each other, no harm done, right?

She starts the water, not waiting for it to heat up before starting to scrub at the dishes. They were already pretty well rinsed-out, which didn't leave much for her to do. If Saitou left them for her, though, then she would make sure she didn't miss a spot.]

So? [Saitou could've done this all by himself, but he couldn't have made small talk! Purpose after all!] What did you end up making today?

There is miso, rice, daikon, and sashimi.

[ his eyes shift back to organising their storage space. though they did have a larger array of ingredients to choose from now that they were in Luceti, Saitou liked to stick to the traditional -- even if that did take more work than necessary. ]

Ah! How nostalgic! [Chizuru gives Saitou a large grin.] There's no way anyone will get home-sick with us around, huh?

[Latching onto a topic Chizuru felt she could adequately discuss, that got her started.] I can only imagine it must be difficult finding the right ingredients outside of Japan, but if anyone could find them, it'd certainly be you!
